They have good fried fish on Friday's. Don't recommend the pork steak, it'll be cooked dry and you will have to choke it down.

I went for the golf, tried and was surprised by the burger, so much so that after 18 holes I went back in and got the ribs.

Do not skip this place! Idk how this place doesn't have more reviews. It's a cute little old…read morebuilding, and our service was excellent. App: Loaded burnt end chips - I'm a sucker for a house made chip and these were great, I think they may have had the BBQ rub on them? Their seasoning on the chips was special Bf had smoked pork steak - EXCELLENT, was juicy and well seasoned Sides: potato salad and onion rings - great I had BBQ sampler (brisket, pulled pork, bratwurst and 1/4 rack ribs) - juicy, fall apart brisket, pulled pork was not dry like 90% of places, ribs were some of the best I've had and so was the bratwurst Sides: mac and cheese and hush puppies - the mac and cheese is not baked mac and cheese (I definitely prefer baked) but this was FANTASTIC. Hush puppies were great. I also had a Bloody Mary with their pickle vodka - it was perfect, not too spicy and they had a fresh (possibly homemade) pickle

In Red Bud- there are few restaurants and this was my local friend's pick…read more The waitress was quick to wait on us. She kept our drinks refilled constantly. The food came out quickly and was hot or chilled (slaw) correctly. The French fries were crispy (given to me to try BBQ sauce). The chicken sandwich was full of well smoked and seasoned chicken. The coleslaw was vinegar based and I just added some black pepper. The mustard sauce was excellent. The tea was good. The newer decor set the place off from the smokehouse menu. It seemed more of a bar than a smokehouse. I was an immediate fan.

We have a friend from Waterloo who raves about this place, so we wanted to try it. First of all,…read morevibes! Swanky, classy and dark interior, with a speakeasy-roaring 20's feel. It was raining the day we came so did not get to experience the rooftop. It was not busy on the day we came but we were seated fairly close to a lingering group of 6 who were incredibly loud, which was disappointing. We were there on a Sunday which is a limited menu because of the featured all-you-can-eat Sunday fried chicken dinner served family style. It's a great deal at $19/adult! Included are biscuits, dirty mashed potatoes, sautéed green beans, corn custard, and then the chicken. Biscuits were VERY hard...like could hurt someone if you threw it at them hard. Green beans and dirty mash were exceptional along with the accompanying gravy. I also really enjoyed the chicken--flavorful, juicy, nice crust, piping hot. The corn custard, while the texture and corn flavor were nice, lacked seasoning. They mean it when they say all you can eat, and we were even given boxes to take home the few extras our stomachs didn't have room for. The service was unfortunately not great, took a while to see our waiter and we were never offered water refills. Overall, a nice restaurant with good food, would love to try their full menu. I deducted a star for noise, service, and a couple food items being a bit subpar. It was a half hour drive for us so if we ever happen to be in Waterloo would like to go back but probably wouldn't make a special trip for it due to the drive and us not being absolutely blown away.

For our pre-Christmas dinner, my husband brought me here…read more The place is located in downtown Waterloo. There were plenty of street parking available and within walking distance from the restaurant. When we arrived, we were greeted immediately and brought to an elevator. We were seated on the second floor overlooking the streets. The place is beautifully decorated from what looked like repurposed doors. I'm not sure if the door looks were intentional or they truly were repurposed. Either way, they gave the restaurant characters. Our waitress stopped by shortly after we were seated and took our drink orders. After she brought us our drinks, we placed an order for some smoked prawn roll (jalapeño cream cheese mousse, red pepper jelly, fried wanton and cucumber). Delicious! Next came our entrée. I ordered the 16 oz cowboy ribeye, medium rare. The steaks are a la carte. I ordered a side of brown butter asparagus to go with my steak. They offer accouterment for the steaks but I decided against it. My steak was prepared properly and was quite tasty. My husband had the grilled salmon which he also thoroughly enjoyed. For dessert, I ordered the chocolate grand Marnier creme caramel. It was divine! Overall, our dining experience was wonderful. Making the 20-minute trek was well worth it.

Woohoo!!!!…read more Woohooooooo!!! They get the extra o's woohoo at Schneiders. If you're a meat lover, this place is a must see. They must have 30 variations of brats in their freezer, both pork and chicken varieties. We asked a couple of people for their opinions, then went with the Hot Buffalo Chicken and Garlic Parmesan Chicken brats. They were both very delicious, delivered on flavor and kick (for the Buffalo) while also providing an nice lean meat alternative. This is especially awesome if you're going low carb - it add variety to your life. They have a huge case full of beautiful fresh meats, including everyday style sausages, but the more exotic flavors are all in the freezer. The lady behind the counter said put them in water for 10 minutes before you cook them and they're good to go. We put our two packs in the fridge overnight and they were ready to throw on the grill. Very friendly, super clean and well organized. They have an interesting selection of smoked meats, a big selection of bbq and other marinating sauces, some misc groceries and a small assortment of local produce. It's maybe 15 minutes beyond the JB bridge, a few miles south of Columbia. Be careful about your speed through Columbia, btw. I speak from experience.

Shelves are faced and full with unique, intriguing meat market driven products including a few decent selection of sundry products to fill a light shopping list. IMO though after purchasing almost $100 in steaks, pork and sausage products was disappointed with the quality at the plate. The thick cut pork chop were great, juicy and filled a large diner appetite. However the thick cut porterhouse, costing $27 was tuff when cooked to MMR, this was a big downer we had expected a whole lot more. the Link breakfast sausage was under seasoned it left us thinking it didn't bring anything special to the breakfast meal. We do expect to give you folks another try in the future. Thank you for the opportunity to experience your store.
