Roast Pork Bun(Cha Siu Bao 3Pcs)(T) Pork Belly(T) Spicy Wontons(T) Galbi Wrap

We saw the good ratings for Mr Bao and headed over here but were heavily disappointed. The service itself was good and the plastic cutlery didn't really bother us. However, the food itself left a lot to be desired. Char Siu Steamed Buns: 7/10 filling was great but not a lot of it in each bun Pork Belly Baos: 4/10 the pork was very well cooked but the baos and meat had no actual flavor Spicy wontons: 8/10 they were good but not amazing Galbi Pancake Wrap: 1/10 I didn't even eat this, the beef was so chewy and overcooked and the wrap itself had a weird flavor. I was disappointed by my experience but it might have been my lack of knowledge of Taiwanese food.

Classic taiwanese snacks & dim sum served in a fun and casual environment; kind of reminded me of my favorite boba shops growing up with elevated food haha Ordered the Dan Dan noodles, popcorn chicken, & sticky rice. Everything was good! Sticky rice had an egg yolk, pork, and chinese sausage inside. Wouldn't order the popcorn chicken next time. Was really suprised at how affordable this place is. We're so used to seeing $15-20 plates, but most items on the menu are under $10. Staff was very sweet and welcoming. 4.5/5

Yummy and fast service. Highly recommend pan fried veggie and beef gua bao. The insides were tender and well seasoned. Cute spot for quick and casual meal

    Spicy chicken ramen

Ordered the spicy chicken ramen for the 2 for 1. It's okay barely that. The noodles are definitely store bought or packaged. They remind me top ramen & I do not appreciate that when it comes to paying for ramen?

I was in the neighborhood and looking to pick up dinner to take home to my mom. This cuisine is definitely up her alley so I gave it a shot. I got an order of shrimp dumplings, roast pork bun, 48 hour galbi beef and sesame balls. The dumplings and roast pork buns were good, pretty much standard and the beef was delicious but the side that I chose for her was listed on the menu as garlic cucumber salad. That, she said, had her mouth on fire. There was no mention of it being spicy and when I tried it later, it was hot to me and I rarely find things spicy. They really need to clarify this as it caused her to not enjoy the meal. Even with that incident I gave it four stars because the food was good and so are the portions in price. Service was also very kind.

Do you know what bao stands for? Bun... no not sticky bun, or honey bun. Bun as in a fluffy slice of heaven mixed with pork. Right...that kind of bun. I love spending my day off in Williamsburg trying new restaurants and I was in the mood for Asian cuisine. I asked the Yelp gifs to find a new restaurant on Bedford and Mr. Bao popped up. My second good wish was to dine on Dan Dan noodles, as always, the craving is high. Thus, when I saw my fave dish on their menu it sealed the deal. Thus ad I write this review, my noodles were served. The bowl of beautiful Sichuan style noodles with minced pork and scallions First twirl...insanely delicious and just the right spice. I couldn't stop my chopsticks from twirling and swirling. Mr, Bao, aside from buns, offers hand made dumplings, pan fried chicken, pork and chives, different options for fried chicken wings and soup dumplings. The atmosphere is quiet but the music spinning had me dancing and twirling at the same time. The service is friendly and courteous. The traditional Chinese bowls adorning the wall and ceiling were quite beautiful. Xie Xie Mr. Bao and Wo hui hailai de. ( I'll be back)

Perfect amount of food to share and hit the spot for the evening. Price is very fair for the food you get. First time having lotus root and it was really good. Recommend the dandan noodles as well.

Not good, not bad. Decent and gets the job done. Price is reasonable but you can definitely tell the food is not very fresh.

Amazing Taiwanese fusion Chinese food that has a variety of rice, noodles, and happy hour fried bites food with soju drinks need I say more? Super friendly service- efficient, attentive, and speedy. Huge shout out to kiki and Andy! Really made the night. Will def be back :)

    Mushroom buns

For vegetarians, this place has nothing to offer. There are a couple of vegetarian dishes, but they are not clearly labeled - at least, not all of them. We ordered the mushroom buns because they were labeled vegetarian, and they were cute and tasty - but they were still frozen in the center, which kind of spoiled the illusion of their being handmade. I also didn't like that the dishes were disposable paper bowls, or that the music was so loud. The servers were friendly, though.

I never leave food behind, ever! But the cucumbers were so old and wrinkly! The duck wrap was tasty, but the old cucumbers made me question the freshness of everything. Would not go back.

Dish highlights include the shrimp and chive dumplings, beef chow fun, and my personal favorite, the stuffed eggplant. Other items were a little bland, like the turnip cakes and har gow, and the pan fried shrimp noodles were awkwardly plated and made them difficult to eat. I also wish they had rice noodle rolls, which I didnt see on the menu. Really what pushed it to 5 stars to me was the service. We came as a huge group of 20, with a baby and stroller in tow, and they handled everything without so much as a grimace, just an outpouring of helpfulness. They sat half our group at a round table and the other half at a rectangular long table and also helped us navigate dietary restrictions, asking specifically who in the group had those restrictions. The menu is labeled too, so you know which items are vegetarian or gluten free. At one point our helpful server noticed we hadn't really touched that awkwardly plated noodle dish and offered to replace it with another. We didn't take him up on that as I'd find that wasteful but I thought that was so attentive and earned them a generous tip. The space is nice looking, and the food came out very quickly. We also didn't break the bank, even with plenty of drink orders. Dao's is an easy recommendation, especially when you factor in how seamlessly they handled our chaos.

I was browsing for places with scallion pancakes and I came across this restaurant. I saw they had a scallion pancake beef rook which I'd never seen before. It was fried and crispy on the inside with tender beef on the inside, that was slightly savory slightly sweet. I had the roll on its own, which made for a light meal, but it can also be enjoyed as a large snack. It was a little greasy, which can be expected, but not sure if I'd get it again. I did think it was innovative though. The most impressive thing about the restaurant was actually the space. I came to pick up my food and was surprised to see this beautiful place. The outside is unassuming and nothing special but inside has the aesthetic of an old Shanghai restaurant. It's ornate and slightly quirky. It's also really big, bigger than I expected. Even the bathrooms had traditional Chinese flare with the sliding doors. Definitely worth checking out,

Some of the most memorable dishes were the Mapo Tofu ($13.99), Hutaoli Roast Chicken ($43 for whole), Spicy Pot Potato ($19), Roasted Green Beans ($22), etc. All of the food is good, but definitely pricey. While the food also came out quickly, our drinks came out towards the end of our meal. It's a good spot for big parties as it never got too busy even on a Saturday night. They also have private rooms. The live music was fun, but also made it hard to have conversation.
