Pizza is excellent and so are the garlic knots. Its a BYOB place which means you can do a quick pit stop at the liquor store across the street and get your beer/wine/whatever. The place just went through a soft opening and they are little disorganized in terms of service. The food was also delayed by 30 minutes, and when they brought it out they forgot to put dressing in the ceasar salad. Having said that, the food is delicious and will give them a few more chances to get the service right. read more

I ordered a half a tray of vegetable lasagna which I picked up yesterday evening for a dinner. It was absolutely delicious. It was one of the best vegetable lasagna dishes I've had. The veggies were very fresh and it was extra cheesy. The garlic knots are really good too! We really enjoyed our meal and look forward to trying some of the other dishes at Mozzarella as well. read more

The penne vodka with grilled chicken and with crispy chicken was AMAZING. My husband and I traveled an hour to get to this place and did not regret it. The only thing we regret is that the best penne vodka we've found is an hour away. The staff was also super friendly and they deserve all the business they get! read more

Just left this place... I ordered caprese salad with tomato and fresh mozzarella and grilled chicken. The salad was good but I had to seriously spit the chicken out in my napkin . I didn't want to be rude but there was no way that chicken was going into my body. I cannot even describe the taste. I called the owner over to ask the chef what kind of spice was on it .. a big burly looking guy came to the table and mumbled lemon pepper and left . It was not lemon pepper!! My daughter had the angel hair pasta in pesto sauce .. she left the whole bowl .. it looked like green vomit. They did take the chicken off the check but all in all would never go back ... I really wanted to give the local restaurants a chance but it looks like I'll be back out on route 22. South Orange and Maplewood have very few good dining spots .. except for the old guys like Bunny's and the Resovoir read more

If you have not tried this place yet, do it!! We stopped by on a random Saturday around 3 or 4 PM, no wait, super quiet. This was for sure the best pizza I've had so far in NJ (we are Brooklyn transplants, so that's saying something). We got the classic pie with pepperoni and the burger. Both were excellent; the crust, cheese, and sauce were perfect and they clearly use high-quality ingredients. We also tried the meatball appetizer, perfect again! I will say that the side salad with the burger was pretty sad, but that's just what I get for ordering salad at a pizza restaurant. All in, this is our new go-to pizza spot for sure! read more

Tried this place after seeing it on tik tok.. so far every place ive tried from tik tok was a miss. However, this place passed my expectations. At first I was a bit skeptical, because of the look. It seemed like a take out pizza place, but I was pleased to see there was seating. Very minimal seating, but I only think they should expand because they will definitely be needing it soon. The mozzarella sticks are by far, easily the best mozzarella sticks ive ever had. The sauce is amazing, I also had their mashed potatoes, and stuffed rigatoni. AMAZING! This 30 minute drive is worth it. Their service could be a bit better but it isn't something that affected my experience too much. 10/10! read more

Never order delivery from this place. I'm a mere 2.6 miles away, and I ordered a cheesesteak around noon. It's currently 1:40 and I still haven't received my order. I called them after 45 minutes, requesting an ETA for the food for the response, "It'll be there any minute." 45 minutes later, no sign. So, I call to cancel the order because I have practice soon and the speaker blames me: "You said it was 2.1 miles away when it was really 3.6. You are out of our delivery range but I made the exception." My apologies for the half a mile difference (which he exaggerated to 1.5) - regardless, be it 1/2 or 1.5 miles, it doesn't take an hour and a half to deliver my food (assuming it took 15 minutes to cook my one cheesesteak). Not to mention ranch is an extra dollar! Never order delivery from this place: horrible service. Thank you for sticking with me through this troubling experience. read more

-very friendly service -apps were very delayed (mozzarella sticks were phenomenal, buffalo wings were average) -entrees were delicious (lamb shank especially) -great atmosphere, tables a little cramped, and the chairs are a bit uncomfortable (hard metal) Will be back, especially given it's BYOB read more

Delish, what can I say. We went for the first time today. I had a salmon burger. It was really good. I will definitely be back! read more

Mozzarella - Salad Near Me - South Orange, New Jersey

Someone came into the laundromat with great smelling food, my fiancé and I could not help but ask where they ordered their food from. After looking at the menu I decided to go with the "octopus salad". I am a fan of seafood and I absolutely love octopus! But this place made an octopus salad very dry and the octopus was SALTY!!. I was so disappointed with the salad. I couldn't get myself to finish the salad. Literally two bites! Smh read more

First time trying the food today and it is DELICIOUS! Fresh ingredients, tasty seasonings and quick delivery! My new favorite restaurant!!!

One Word! Dissatisfying!! They have a fancy menu, but couldn't even get a plain pie right. Crust is gooey and floury. Cheese... what cheese it hardly had any. Ordered pizza on 75 degree day, was delivered to me cold 60 degrees less than room temperature. Price too high First time order, last time order! read more

This place is fantastic! You must try the meatballs - special family recipe. Mussels are delicious too. Great vibe and atmosphere!

This place is amazing!!!! Dined last Friday!!! I Don't normally do posts. But! They make very good pizza, mozzarella sticks are great. While I do think this place has some good dishes, I think the prices are beyond ridiculous. A salad is 19 dollars!!!!???!! Seriously??? I get there is a pandemic, but please reasonably raise your prices. This is not the city. read more

I have given this restaurant many chances. With the exception of the meatball hero, which was tasty, the food is either ok or terrible. The pizza tastes like a frozen pie from the supermarket. My panini had grill marks on it, but was cold on the inside. I ordered the chicken marsala twice. The first time it was bland. The second time, the chicken was spoiled. It smelled funny and tasted rotten. If I could smell that it was past its prime, so should the restaurant. That was it for me. Do not recommend. read more

I am so impressed. Try the mushroom ravioli. It perfectly cooked. The fresh warm bread out of the pizza oven is perfect for sopping up the mushroom sauce. We also tried the monkfish served with garlic mashed potatoes--oh my bliss. It was so amazing. Plus the servers were so welcoming. Oh, and the teramesu was a perfect end to the meal. We only ordered one because we were stuffed. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. We also loved the decor. Overall, great food and good service. We'll definitely return. read more

I always liked them back when they were La Vera but with the new location and menu revamp I'm even more impressed! The pizza tastes better and the chicken in their pasta was so good. So glad to have this spot open again and loving their food. read more

This is the best pizza in Maplewood. Have been there now 5 times and keep going back. Pizza has a lot of flavor and very crispy crust. The quality of the toppings is impressive. The staff is very nice and helpful. This is now my go to pizza place when I'm at work. read more

I like this place ! They have beef pepperonis which is good cause my family doesn't eat pork and their side salad is good ! I also like the chicken parm sandwich , the sauce wasn't salty or watery read more

Had a very mediocre and overpriced meal for what it was. Service was very slow and the food was heavy and greasy. Would not return.

Even through the pandemic, there are still places to eat such as Mozzarella! I went here with my significant other and thanks to social media apps (TikTok and Instagram), we found this place to eat! The appetizers were fantastic such as the crostini and the famous mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce. We also ordered some calamari and it was very delicious as well! For our main dish, we shared a Grandma pie and it was humongous but every bite was so delicious! . That's also coming from a New Yorker! We had some leftovers for sure and the restaurant itself was cute and small and the people who work there were very polite as well. I hope to see this restaurant grow and to continue making great foods! read more

The best Mozzarella sticks I've ever had in my life, it's actually stupid how good they are and the sauce is ridiculous

Food was good. Great pizza which we needed in this area. We also ordered a salad that wasn't delivered. Called the restaurant, they confirmed they had the salad and would send it out. Salad never came. Good food, bad service. We will give Mozzarella another try in the future. read more

We've had many good meals dining in and delivered from Mozzarella but the Grandma Pie and the Chicken Parm dinner are staples in our rotation. Also, very nice people! read more

Good food but bad service. Called in our order. They said one hour. When we went to pick up, it was an extra half hour wait with people who had ticket numbers 20 higher than ours getting their food ahead of us. No apology from management. With so many great and reliable Italian restaurants in our area, no need to return for lousy service. read more

I dined in on a Friday night. We had the falafel as an appetizer, fettuccini alla funghi and chicken balsamico sandwich as a main and tiramisu for dessert. The falafel was surprisingly delicious for an Italian restaurant. The herbed spices were strong, the crust crispy, with roasted red peppers and a cheesy filling. My fiancée had the sandwich with a side of truffle mayo, he said the sandwich was delicious and packed with flavor. The fettuccini portion was huge and came out piping hot. They did not skimp out on the mushrooms or the truffle essence. It was fabulous. The tiramisu was beautifully presented and tasted exactly as I was expecting for a nice sweet ending to my dinner. Matt, our server was also great. 5 stars! read more

Basic NJ pizza joint. We ordered pasta and were pretty disappointed. Bolognese sauce was unbearably garlicky. Tasted like a good meat sauce and they poured in a jar of pre-minced garlic. Pasty was mushy, over cooked. Service was fine. Lots of very noisy kids. Strange security cameras kept flashing a really annoying light. Not a great atmosphere. read more

Food was pretty bland and the service was unmotivated and poor. Also really cramped and loud in there. There are much better Italian spots in Maplewood/South Orange read more

I'm new to the neighborhood and trying out local options. The restaurant seems new, clean, and trendy and the food was really good! Our server was helpful, friendly, and gave great recommendations. There are great options for both vegetarians and omnivores. They don't serve alcohol, but there is a liquor store right across the street for BYO. It's a little pricey, but I will definitely go back. read more
