Chicken Francese with Angel hair Pasta
Jewel M.

I was in the mood for Italian recently because I haven't had it in a while, so I ordered from Mozzarella for my Italian fix. Got the chicken Francese with Angel hair pasta. I enjoyed it, however, the chicken wasn't very saucy..but it was still delicious and fresh nonetheless. If I order from here again, I'll probably request that they make the chicken a little bit more saucy or put it in a separate container. I believe the sauce from the chicken was absorbed by the pasta since the pasta sat right underneath the chicken. I definitely wouldn't mind trying more dishes from here..

Mozzarella has amazing food, service, atmosphere, and decor. Inside, outside patio or enclosed patio expect expert friendly service serving decadent and lavishly presented food that is consistently delicious. I love this little gem in South Orange.

Penne alla Vodka

Service was amazing. My friend and I went here for lunch on a Wednesday and they were empty. You walk in and it's a pizza counter but then to your right is an elegant dining area. My friend said they mastered a balance of casual and fancy dining. He also said he'd give this place five stars based on service. Andrew was our server. He was super informative and personable. I got the crispy eggplant sliders and penne vodka. The crispy eggplant sliders were delicious. I enjoyed that the slider is on garlic knots. I would get this again. The penne vodka was good, but I'd try something else. My friend got a salad which looked super yummy. This is a good place for a date. Just a heads up, there is service charge of 18%, and tipping is optional. Excited to go back and try something else!

Love this spot! Mozzarella in South Orange is such a gem -- cozy, welcoming, and BYOB (which is always a win in my book). The service was super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We tried a few comfort food staples and everything hit the spot. I'm definitely coming back to try the pizza and mozzarella sticks -- heard they're a must. The interior is really cute too, and it works well whether you're coming with a date or a small group. Great vibe all around.

Mediterranean confit pappardelle

I've been to Mozz two separate times. I enjoy the modern Italian menu. I like a good red sauce joint as much as anybody else but we have enough of 'em around here. I think I accidentally got the same thing or similar both times because all the ingredients appeal to me so much. I ordered the Mediterranean pasta (I chose the pappardelle) which is tossed with a slow-roasted cherry tomato confit, capers, Kalamata olives and crisp, seasoned toasted breadcrumbs. I've also had the same server twice and he is VERY attentive and will carefully describe items to you and suggest his recommendations. The ambiance is casual and the decor is a sleek clean modern situation. There's a lickee store right across the street if you want to BYO. I also appreciate their eco-friendly to-go packaging.

We visit Mozzarella for lunch on a Saturday. The space is very sweet and elegantly decorated, especially for the holidays. The lunch was fine, it wasn't anything we would have to return for. We had the ribeye ciabatta and the blackened caesar wrap. It all tasted like anything from a local deli would taste. The service was friendly. I would come back to try dinner, as the pasta plates looked great.

Our Favorite Neighborhood Date Night Spot. Great service and healthy servings of all the items we order. BYOB.

Eggplant parm soooo good, fries are okay

Beautiful interior and the service was very friendly and attentive. We made a reservation and they were very kind to accommodate us with little notice. We ordered the eggplant parm, chicken Marsala and the fish with risotto and veggies. Everything was delicious and the prices were extremely reasonable. A quality sit down family restaurant. I would absolutely come back.

Brownie - not their strong suit

I wanted to like this restaurant but it fell short, especially for the price. The pizza (10" margherita) for $19 had a crust alike store-bought white bread and toppings that were flavorless. The two desserts, tiramisu and brownie were $8 each and pretty average. If the prices were lower I would be less critical. It's possible they shine with their pastas or other menu items, but I was dissatisfied with what I ordered.

Tried Mozarella for the first time tonight to meet up with friends. Pros: Convenient location Street parking available Accepts walk-ins Reasonable pricing Nice staff Nice ambiance Cons: - Bit of long wait for food - The food was missing seasoning/flavor - Known for their mozzarella sticks, but the breading was very dry and average I had an okay experience. I wish the food was better in the flavor department. The food wasn't inedible, but it was kind of bland and dry, in my opinion. Long story short, I would say i would grab maybe grab some appetizers for llunch if I was in the area, but the food doesn't really stick out to me, so I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here often.

Good place, cute design. FYI it's no longer halal. Pros: - no reservation needed for a weekend group visit, lots of space - not that expensive for the amount of food you get - lots of street parking - food tastes good! The pastas and pizza are great, the dessert and mozzarella sticks weren't that great Cons: - no longer halal, and they didn't have that update advertised when we went. We just happened to be told by the waiter that it changed - took a loooong time to get the food - the mozzarella sticks were large but not that good tbh, tasted plain and dry It's a nice place to visit if you're in the area! But I wouldn't go out of my way to go again.

There was plenty of room for dining, a bar, a photo booth, and a DJ station. The servers were more than accommodating all night. The rest of our party arrived within five minutes, and while waiting we had a very pleasant conversation. Michael ended up serving us as well, and his attentiveness truly elevated the entire experience. We were seated in a large dining room down a few steps, a space typically used for large parties and events. Since it was the Sunday between Christmas and New Year's, the room was set with four-top tables. We were able to choose our table, which offered a great view of South Orange--something that most tables in this beautifully designed restaurant seem to enjoy. The restaurant is BYOB, and one member of our party brought a bottle of red wine. Giorgio's provided attractive, proper wine glasses, which was a nice touch. For appetizers, we shared the Caprese and Calamari Fritti--both excellent. I ordered one of the specials: bone-in pork chops topped with blue cheese over mushroom risotto. Simply outstanding. Others in our party ordered the Chicken Parmigiana with penne vodka sauce and the mushroom ravioli, and they enjoyed their meals just as much as I did. After dinner, two of us had cappuccinos and one had regular coffee. I ordered the chocolate mousse cake, another guest chose the cheesecake, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed dessert and coffee. Overall, it was an extremely enjoyable evening in a wonderful restaurant with a great location, inviting atmosphere, outstanding service, and excellent food. By the time we left, the restaurant had filled up with what appeared to be many locals and repeat customers--always a great sign.

REVIEW UPDATE: My…read morehusband and I had dinner at Village Trattoria last Friday after work. It's been a while since we'd gone there to dine-in (like over ten years). You order at the counter, take a table number, and then sit wherever you want that's available towards the back of the pizzeria. We decided to order a large pie and salad to share. We grabbed drinks from the cold cases up front. - EJ's Greek Salad was delicious - nice mix of fresh ingredients and vinaigrette salad dressing on the side. - The Eggplant Parmesan Pan Pie is so good and one of the best in the area!

The ambiance is casual and busy, with more of a fast-paced, local pizzeria feel than a relaxed sit-down restaurant. It's been around forever, which definitely gives it a familiar local feel. Some of the staff that work there are nice, which is appreciated, and the pastas are really good, but I do think they are a bit overpriced for what you get. I was a little disappointed that they got rid of Thin Crust Night and Wing Night on Monday Nights. That was a great deal for dine-in only and something my family really enjoyed expecally on busy week nights. The thin crust pizzas were about $10 each plus extra for toppings, and the wings were $1 each. The wings were huge, really good, and came with plenty of sauce, you could also choose from about five different flavors, which made it fun. Overall, it's still a decent local spot for a quick bite, but I do miss some of the old specials that made it feel more unique.

The kind of confidence that doesn't announce itself, it just delivers. Then there's the crema de cilantro and aji, which basically tag team your taste buds and ask, "You good?" Yes. I'm great. Mind your business. This is not a, "Instagram made me do it" sandwich. This is a composed, disciplined, shut up and eat sandwich. Every ingredient is there on purpose. No freeloaders. The owner is a Peruvian chef who lived in Canada and now cooks in New Jersey, which explains why this sandwich has flavor, restraint, and zero patience for mediocrity.
