They don't have a menu or website linked so I had to rely on UberEats and the descriptions about the food is very misleading! The sweet and sour chicken says deep fried however, it is NOT, which is what I was wanting. The chicken is very lightly breaded with no fried crunch or taste. It's actually just plain chicken sitting in the sauce. I open my steamed rice and right on top is a gnat, which is unfortunate for $18. I ate at Moy's something like 20-22 years ago because my now brother and law picked it for a family gathering. Fast forward, and he picked this Chinese restaurant for Mother's Day. I'm not positive what I got the first time eating at Moy's, but I do remember not liking the food. Obviously, I was weary that anything would be different this second time around, but since it was in lieu of my mother's special day, I agreed to go. The menu is pretty Americanized. There are some dishes that aren't at, say, Mark Pi's, but still more Chinese-American fare as a whole. I wasn't able to get my first choice, Duck Bao Buns, because they are a pre-order item: the duck dishes here are cooked to order, so they need fair warning (ordered at least an hour ahead of time) to prepare. Their Orange Chicken was my second choice. I also got an order of Crab Rangoon to try. The Crab Rangoon was really good. A healthy portion of the cream cheese mixture, and the fried wonton wrapping was crispy and lite. I like how their sauces are in tiny squirt bottles so I can easily get more on my food if desired. My Orange Chicken was fantastic. Wok pan fried so the flavorful orange sauce lightly Caramelized to the juicy chicken pieces, which was a lot of protein, btw. Loved the plating of the thin slices of orange around the outside. The thin caramelized julienned orange peel cooked in with the dish was an awesome touch. The sauce had nice even orange flavor, but not too much to make it sickening sweet. I would definitely get this dish again. Price for quantity is good. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'll definitely be back next year (2023), as my brother-n-law always makes reservations here for Borge mothers on Mother's Day. Went to Moy's today on a friend's recommendation. We had crab rangoon, General Tao's chicken and chicken and cashews. I had the fried rice with my dish. Absolutely no crab in the rangoon although they were perfectly cooked, the chicken and cashews were totally without flavor and soggy and the General Tso was not General Tso's...it was chunks of chicken covered with a barbecue sauce (yes, barbecue sauce). The sauce was delicious, but there was so much of it, it soggied the chicken's nice crispy exterior. The heat in the sauce was quite moderate. If you love a lot of sauce, you will like this a lot. I've been meaning to try this place for years. I kept hearing about it, but had a hard time getting down here. It is hard to find, even when you know where it is- just look right beside Buckeye Donuts. It is small, but comfy inside. Packed at 1 on a Friday, but things eased up after that. Lots of students and professors, lots of Chinese students. Service was very good- it's a family place, and they were busy but kept on top of things. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Drinks are in cans. I had an egg roll to start. Well, actually soup to start, which I guess came with my entree. Tofu and veggies in a subtle broth. Very good, and a nice appetizer. The egg roll came out next. Crunchy shell, crispy veggies, pretty good overall. And it gave me a chance to try the sauces- a solid sweet and sour, an untypically mild mustard (at least, not eye-searingly hot,) and an amazing garlic-pepper paste. My usual Mongolian beef comparison dish isn't on the menu, which is probably a good thing- it's not very authentic. Plus, there are so many interesting things on the menu to try. I settled, almost randomly, on pork chop in curry sauce. It's sliced, but bone-in so be careful. Crispy, tasty pork, over rice with onions and potatoes in a very mild curry sauce. Very good. I like supporting local businesses. Moy's is a nice change from all the chains across from Ohio State. There's a lot to like about this place, specifically the menu with all its choices. It has some great vegetarian entrees like eggplant, general tso's tofu, and kung pao tofu. The service though most likely will be poor and make your meal pretty uncomfortable so you may want to get it carryout. I have liked everything that I have eaten here. It's got authentic Chinese but it's still okay for Americanized eaters. They aren't that busy inside even in the middle of lunch. It's mostly good food though you'll have to encounter the staff. The service is pretty bad here. It's common to be slow even if they're not busy, which is often. The owner talks really fast and messes up orders. She can get real snippy and it's best not to argue with her. The other waitstaff is not great, either. It's better to order carryout to avoid all this. They make it worth coming back because of the food. It's entrees are usually about $8. They have good varieties of tofu they don't have at other Chinese restaurants. It also can adjust the spiciness of whatever you want it to be. They can make it super hot but there's also good hot sauce on the tables so you can add it too. I prefer to visit Moy's over the other Chinese around the campus. If the service would improve I could see myself coming back more often. The worst overall service around here in a Chinese restaurant but worth trying if you still have to have some good Chinese food. read more
