She was treated to an array of snacks and she came out of there with a brand new stuffed turtle toy from a brand my sister said stands up to test. This place is great! Awesome selection of stuff, friendly and helpful staff. Went in there to use a $25 gift certificate and left with way more than just that! Sooo the shark spine and lamb trachea is a little weird to me but you know, gotta have options I suppose. The treat bar is nice, they let you have you pup try the ones to see they will like. Also, a large case of nicely decorated dog cookies. Many many dog toys to choose from, not too many doggy clothes though. We will go back when our lil guy deserves a special treat. read more

WATCH YOUR DOG!! This place has a "no leash" policy apparently and some aggressive dogs as "customers". My terrier was set upon by a chocolate lab 4X his size the second he walked in the door. I was lucky my pup wasn't perforated. The owner (store) grabbed the lab while the owner (dog) called "come here PooPoo dear" and didn't move a muscle from the other side of the store. The lab then proceeded to roam the store like a shark. I had my dog in my arms at that point, bought what we needed and fled. Commented to the owner that they needed a leash policy - no reply. Something similar happened 6 mos. back so I have left my dog in the car when I go in. Trust me, PetsMart is safer even if there selection of treats can't keep up...dogs are leashed. read more

I was a first time dog owner but lived in the Highlands for three years and was very excited when I fist went into Mouthfuls. Like most avid dog owners I am very protective and concerned about what goes into my dog. Charli loves coming into the store and being greeted by the friendly staff always offering sample treats to her. I am a huge fan of the round table with dozens of tendons, bones, ears, rawhides exc. I currently live in Stamford, CT and have not been able to find a dog store that comes close to Mouthfuls. I fully trust their staff and their products. Next time I am home I have made it a plan to stock up on goodies for the rest of the year and fly them out to the east coast. read more

I first came here on the recommendation of my vet. She recommended CBD oil for my 16 year old Dachshund to help with her old age quivering. The staff is very knowledgeable and recommended the best one for us to start with. I returned for another bottle and once again the staff was excellent! We got a new puppy a month ago and we've been checking out the local pet stores for the past few weeks buying treets, tags, leashes, food, etc. The first time we went in, a very generous lady working there (owner?) gave us two free bags of raw dog meat to put on top of our kibble...simply to try it out! Just yesterday, we took the bag of dog food back (which we bought) since our puppy didn't agree with it, and they swapped it out for a different bag (non-chicken) for free. I couldn't believe the service. We are forever loyal to Mouthfuls. I promised the lady I'd give a stellar review because they truly deserve it. Great little shop, well stocked with quality brands and a wide selection of treats, accessories and supplies. The staff is kind and helpful. I found a perfect thin leash for my little pup and stocked up on Taste of the Wild. It will be hard to pick my go-to place since there are two other great pet supply stores in the neighborhood (Planet Pet and Simpawtico). I'm thinking I'll put all three on rotation because I love local pet supply stores!! read more

I don't live in the neighborhood but travel 20 mnutes to come to Mouthfuls. They have a great inventory of food, doggy smacks and accessories and things that you can't find elsewhere. Today I am picking up a coat for my dog that they special ordered. The staff was very helpful and they actually call you back when the shipment promptly comes in. They will order things for you right away. Thank you for the great treat bar and the jerky that my dog LOVES. I pass by 6-7 other pet stores to come to this store. This place is as good as it gets. Went in this morning to "winterize" my pup. The women working there were incredibly helpful. We probably spent 30 minutes trying on different dog shoes and they helped me out the entire time getting the different sizes and styles on for the cold weather. After hearing for months from my boyfriend that I should switch my dogs food to "the good stuff" and him telling me multiple times to stop in I finally did. I couldn't be happier with the experience. The woman helping me (who I believe was the owner) was so knowledgable about everything, from each kind of food, to training techniques, to even cleaning and preventing fleas and bugs. I left knowing about 40 new things, with some healthy grain free food for the pup, and of course a huge Ostrich leg bone. I hate to say it but I am almost looking forward to going back because it is a little bit more expensive than most pet supply stores but you are definitely getting what you pay for! read more

What a fantastic retail shop! I just love going to Mouthfuls with my Brussels Griffon! Seriously, it's the equivalent of FAO Schwarz for people - but for animals! Talk about eye-candy... there was fun stuff EVERYWHERE! Tons of toys, apparel, and unique dog snacks galore! I would never even dream of going there without Mr Miner; we always have a great experience with the sales people AND other four-legged shoppers! Located on Tennyson, its the perfect way to wrap up a fun play date at the park and let him pick out a really interesting snack! For a one-of-a-kind pet supply store, great customer service and a fabulous selection of high-end snacks, organic & raw foods it's worth the trip! Plus, I prefer to support my local mom-and-pops shop over a large cookie-cutter corporation any day. The owners are dedicated to offering only the safest and healthiest foods for dogs and cats. They also have had free evening seminars for pet owners with a holistic vet and also with a raw diet rep. which I found very informative and useful. I keep reading about how expensive they are. In comparison to the small town pet store I used to buy my dog food from, I would say Mouthfuls is fair for what I shop for. I buy a heavy bag of dog food. The brand is quality and it lasts longer than the cheaper brands. I have missed out I think once with the punch card, but I didn't even bring it up. Sometimes I think the staff could be friendlier, but I'd rather them just be polite as opposed to pushy like I am going into the Gap or somewhere else like that. They are helpful and that's all I need really. It's not like I am going there to spend the day shopping. read more

This place is great! I spent what seemed like forever looking for the right harness for my dog and couldn't decide. They have a great selection but the one I wanted wasn't the right size. Of course the owner offered to order the right size but I was really impressed when she told me about another boutique that had great selection and went a step further by mapquesting it for me. I have a Neapolitan Mastiff named Leo. Recently Leo got aspiration Pneumonia and was hospitalized for a couple days. When I got Leo back he wasn't eating his normal Diet, in fact, he was almost scared of it. Leo works with me on Tennyson street so we decided to head on down to Mouthfuls to see what they could do. Not only was everyone extremely polite and kind, they knew exactly what to do. They also knew what Leo needed in a regular diet. I left with several products that will help Leo now and for the rest of his life. My Leo deserves the best and Mouthfuls is that place. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I visited this store on a recent trip to Denver and was looking for some treats for my 2 lab mixes. The owners Deb and Tonya were so friendly & very knowledgeable about everything in the store! That is so refreshing after going to pet stores where the clerks know nothing about what they are selling!! I am moving to Denver in a few months and I definitely will be getting all my dog food and treats here. I highly recommend this place. It was clean, well organized and very friendly. They have a great selection of high quality pet foods and I picked up some great exotic treats (shark spine, sting ray tail, ostrich bones) for my girls, and they loved all of them! I recently visited this store for the first time to pick up a few treats for my puppy and of course brought him along. The entire time I was there nobody was there to greet me or ask if I needed help finding anything... Since I didn't get any help or suggestions on product I didn't buy more than one bully stick and would have bought much more if the staff was more helpful. When I was waiting to pay (there was only one gal in front of me in line) I guess a regular customer came in and had given his dog a treat. The cashier (who was SLOW and had no sense of urgency to help other customers) had seen that I was waiting (with my puppy who at this point was getting restless) and instead of ringing me up she ignored me and helped the other guy who had just walked in. No asking me if I would mind if she helped him first or even acknowledging my presence!! I was debating if it was even worth it at that point and almost walked out without anything, but she finally rang me up. The girl had no personality and no customer service skills, and trust me I have worked service-based jobs for my entire life so I know what good customer service is. I will not do business here in the future, I would rather drive up to Boulder and visit Whole Pets where they at least show some sort of personality and care for the customer. read more
