After years of being loyal customers with our 2 dogs, they couldn't care less. You lost thousands of dollars of future business by being selfish. Luckily, this forced us to find a different dog daycare and now my dog loves to go. He doesn't act scared or freaked out anymore. He's actually happy and excited to go to the new place. We wanted to nip that aggression behaviour right at the bud, but perhaps did not realize how, in fact, all behaviours woudl inevitably be addressed. Even those little behaviours that aren't totally bad, like unwanted licks. After two session about 1~ month apart, our dog is more confident, less reactive, and shining in his pro-social behaviours -- even within the home, which used to be his most territorial space! His behaviours, from loose-leash walking to staying in place until told otherwise, have also improved. I really didn't think this could be such a comprehensive approach, but Scott demonstrated how all behaviours of our dog could be supported/improved! I also really appreciate the company motto that no more than a few sessions are needed -- no gimmicks or lies here! Scott's approach is to really give you the tools to be able to work on positive and acceptable behaviours confidently on your own. I feel confident to be doing this in the coming weeks and months as my dog transition from adolescence to adulthood. I wholeheartedly recommend Scott's service! A complete contrast to our older collie/aussie mix, he was full of energy and naughtiness (a puppy), and a nightmare to control. Prior to being surrendered by his (previous) family, he went through two weeks of out of home boarding/training, costing upwards of $7,000. We thought this would have helped with obedience, but boy were we wrong. Fast forward two and a half years, sessions with a certified behaviorist, and failed attempts to use an e-collar, we were at a loss. He constantly displayed leash reactivity, would lunge at cars and dogs, and made it so we would rarely walk anywhere. He almost broke my finger during a break free lunge at a dog completely across a residential street! At home, dog forbid another animal appeared on the tv; he would jump and bark at everything. Then we found Chill Out... After the very first session with Scott, our big boy golden was a different dog. Scott set is up with the right tools to refocus our dogs behavior and break him of his leash reactivity. That very first walk was pleasant and uneventful. We almost felt foolish for claiming bad behavior. What we needed was the right trainer and methods to help our dog change behavior. At Best Friends she goes in the door and the staff take time to give her the human reassurance she needs. Every single time. She is a needy lil one. I know this. And I am thankful this business is a smaller doggy daycare. I feel she gets more human attention and is more comfortable interacting with the other pups. It is local and reasonably priced. Win, win and win. On Friday, after picking Scout up from daycare I noticed that her right cheekbone was swollen and her eye was a little weepy. At pickup the staff didn't mention that she was playing rough and got nipped or possibly scratched. I left a voicemail and when the daycare opened on Monday morning I received a prompt message from Nancy. She had asked the staff and no one remembers any sort of rough play etc. What really impressed me, she offered to comp a total of three daycare days and to pay for all vet bills. This is above and beyond! I never thought that the business would offer to comp days and a vet bill. Dogs will be dogs and playing is the reason I take her to daycare. But the offer was so generous (and unnecessary!) it showed the dedication ,love and vigilance that the staff have for the pups they take care. I really feel as if they love my fur baby too. And what more could a working mom want? I will continue to take her there, and continue to refer Best Friends. I feel even more confident that Scout plays away her days at the best possible place.

Our vet recommended Juliet and The Loyal Hound when our younger female Australian Shepherd began…read moreshowing some concerning behaviors, including deep growling at the vet, fence running, and resource guarding. We wanted to address the behavior early rather than let it become more established, so within about six weeks of it starting, we enrolled her in a board-and-train program. We ultimately decided to put both of our Aussies through separate programs: both females, one five years old and the other about a year and a half. The difference has been night and day. Both dogs now have reliable recall, walk calmly on leash, and for the first time, we feel genuinely confident having them off leash. They no longer react to wildlife or other dogs on hikes, the fence running and excessive barking have stopped, and they can calmly sit with us at outdoor cafes and other dog-friendly public spaces. The "place" command has been especially valuable. They can settle calmly for extended periods, which has been a true game changer both at home and when we're out with them. Most importantly, both dogs seem more confident because they understand what is expected of them. My husband and I are also much more consistent and aligned in how we communicate with them and provide the structure they need to be successful. We've enjoyed continuing to work with them every day and building on the foundation Juliet provided. The overall atmosphere in our home is noticeably calmer, more harmonious, and far less frustrating for both us and the dogs. Juliet has also continued to follow up and check in to make sure the dogs are doing well, which is something you don't always see once a training program is finished. It's a tangible sign that she genuinely cares about the dogs' long-term success, and it has reinforced for us that this was absolutely the right investment for our family.

Two of them are my problem children: a Rottweiler mix foster fail who is reactive to bikes and other dogs and occasionally nervous around people like visiting contractors or UPS men, and the other is a 100+ lb Brazilian mastiff rescue from Aruba who is not fond of other dogs. The two of them began showing increasingly worse dog aggression toward other dogs on the trail and while camping, and had attacked several dogs by the time I found Loyal Hound/Juliet. I was at my wit's end, because I had already spent thousands of dollars and tried everything including other trainers at that point with little to no progress. I felt stuck with 2 big problems for the next 6-8 years. I hike at least 3 miles every single day off leash on the trails by my house, and I love to camp with my dogs in the summer, but they became such a liability that walks became stressful and camping became impossible. I finally found Juliet with Loyal Hound, and for our very first session we met at a crowded park and were going to be doing off leash training right away. I was so nervous -- all the triggers were present: other people with dogs on leashes, dogs off leashes, people on bikes, squirrels -- so I was absolutely AMAZED when we were walking my Rottweiler off leash through a gaggle of geese, past people on bikes, and past other dogs within a few minutes with no problems. It was nothing short of a miracle. Within a few sessions, I had both of my dog aggressive dogs walking on and off leash next to me, passing other dogs (sometimes dogs that were even barking at them) on trails safely with no reactivity. I cannot explain in words how much of a difference this has made in my life -- I feel like I got my life back. If you have a dog aggressive dog, this is the place to go. We did…read morethe on-leash training with our dog Cheddar about a year ago and we couldn't believe the results. Cheddar would pull on the leash constantly and bolt any chance he could. A year later and we're almost done with off-leash training. Cheddar now comes back every single time without fail. This is a dog that would be halfway down the block if he slipped or broke his collar. We've also seen how much more confident and happy Cheddar is after his training. We can let him off knowing he will come back every time, and we're now even considering obedience competitions. We can't thank Randy enough for everything he's done for us.

Evidently you have to drop off during a very narrow window (7-815) which is great if you live in city limits & between Colfax and North Denver....not as great if you live in a northern suburb & are looking for a day care nearish to downtown. The staff that greeted me was a bit standoff-ish and not super friendly. I booked a drop off on a saturday (or thought i did at least) & has stopped by around 10 ...nope that's when i was informed about the narrow window and that "the app can be glitchy"... Speaking of the app, i was under the impression her first play was free, but was charged $45 for the visit...it's a cool concept but a bit pricey especially for those rare visits when i need something closer to where im going to be instead of her usual day camp.

I had hoped to come back to Beauty Bark to give it another try after our current amazing groomer…read moredecided to discontinue his mobile side of the business. Prior to last March, our dog was returned to us with a bleeding tail (at the base), some issues being able to walk (crying) after the appointment for a couple days following due to standing for long periods of time, and some uneven cuts (pictured above) which I amounted to the new management just getting their feet wet and installed into this business. We had such amazing experiences prior to these incidents, we wanted to keep giving them a chance to improve. Once our dog was there for close to 8 hours, we sought out another groomer (which was the last time we were there). I called in last week and requested an appointment and was hung up on. I tried calling back and no answer. Fast forward to today, I tried to schedule something and learned we've been black listed due to "notes from upper management." According to the manager on duty that answered the call, we had numerous incidents of "rushing the groomer" which was really shocking. In the times we'd brought our dog in, we used to receive updates from the groomer if it was going to be longer than a few hours (four hours max). In the last few times, we never received updates so I would call in to check and see when our dog would be done. It was always difficult to plan around due to my work schedule and wanting to pick him up as there's a charge to keep him there past a certain amount of time. The last time he was there for, I want to say, eight hours (maybe 9:15-close) with no calls or anything. I called in a couple time that day and was a bit upset (no yelling or anything-- I'm no Karen... Sorry to any Karens reading this) simply due to not being given an opportunity to come in and give our dog more meds for his legs (in the past the groomers said he was standing for a really long time so that's why he was hurting the following days). According to the manager on duty today, "there were numerous well documented incidents that happened," although he wouldn't mention what they were. All in all, the turnover here has always been rough and while there may be sole great groomers here from time to time, it's probably best to look elsewhere. The male manager that's typically there is quite rude and super testy. Just overall disappointed as this place was so so great when we first moved to Denver a few years ago. Wish I didn't have to write this as we always try to support local businesses not criticize them.
