I sent my 6 month old Husky/ Pit Bull/ Shepherd Mix to their 3-week long board and train with Quinn to help her with some possessive and reactive behaviors. My dog is now 8 months old and we can go on off-leash hikes together and sit at a brewery or restaurant. We sent our pup Layla to board and train for the 2 week off-leash program. Quinn was our lead dog trainer. You can do both basic obedience and off-leash programs in 3 weeks, or bypass the basic obedience program by taking enough group obedience classes, so we did the latter! We ended up loving Paw School (at Stephanie's recommendation!) and graduated her from level 1 to level 4 in preparation for her off-leash program. She was pretty good at listening, but only when she wanted to (you know, husky things!), so we liked Pavlov's approach of balanced training and holding them accountable when they don't listen. I looked at a lot of programs and went with them because of their stellar ratings, balanced approach, and play groups every day. We want our dog to listen when needed, but we also want her to be a happy dog and have fun! It was hard to be away from her for 2 weeks, but she came back still her silly self but much better engaged with us and walking much more nicely. As a first time dog owner, I am very grateful to have found Pavlov and especially the Manager Quinn. My now 10-month old puppy Eloise has been through Puppy Pre-School, Puppy Boarding & Train as well as Obedience 1/2, or a total of about four and a half weeks of training since she was four months old. Eloise is a complicated puppy from a NM reservation - extremely anxious, afraid of men, afraid of crowded places, and a bit wild. For puppy training Eloise boarded with Quinn at her home, was exposed to dogs and cats in a safe environment and gradually gained confidence and trust in people. Quinn worked closely with Eloise and myself over the next several weeks, and when Eloise was old enough to go through Obedience 1/2, she learned strong on-leash manners. My partner and I recently adopted a nine month old male cattle dog mix who was a bit of a dick at first. He was showing aggression to other dogs and people who would come to visit. He also hadn't had much training prior to adoption, so he had a handful of other more manageable puppy behaviors that we needed to work on as well. We had success going the YouTube route with our other dog, but that approach wasn't working for our newest little shit, so we reached out to several trainers in Denver. We also talked to two friends who had used trainers and they both strongly recommended Pavlov, so we decided to go with them for the five-session Private Behavior program. After five sessions and about 15-25 minutes of training homework per day, our dog has changed drastically for the better. He no longer barks at people or dogs passing our window, tries to murder the Amazon employees, growls or lunges at guests and visiting dogs, jumps when we walk in, ignores commands, pulls on his leash, smokes cigarettes, or gets spaghetti on the wallpaper. He now knows how to "park it" on his bed when people come to the door and stays there indefinitely, come when called, stay, and heel, even off leash (with a close eye), all thanks to Kylah Lenz from Pavlov. Kylah was great. She was able to fit a ton into each hour session and was incredibly knowledgeable. She had a direct and efficient teaching style that made me feel like we got our money's worth from each session. I had a lot of questions and she had the expertise to answer all of them with techniques that work. I emailed her a few times between sessions with questions about new behavior or things I forgot to write down and she got back to me quickly. She had a natural way of communicating with our dog and he started listening to her and then us within the first session. If we decide to do any additional training for either of our dogs, we'll definitely use Pavlov and request Kylah. My partner and I are both animal lovers and vegans, so we were both initially hesitant to go with a program that uses an electronic collar and isn't 100% positive reinforcement, but we were desperate to curb his aggression so we agreed to it. Kylah walked us through how effective an e-collar is with aggressive dogs and let us "shock" ourselves at the level we would be using on the dog. I'm not a dog, but from a human perspective, it didn't hurt at all. I tried it on my palm, my arm, and my tail. It felt weird and you could see how it would grab a dog's attention, but it was in no way painful. I definitely didn't expect our dog to make this kind of progress in only 7 weeks, after struggling to train him myself. I thought this level of obedience would take a year. Dog training isn't cheap, but this was worth it. I have so much more peace of mind now. It's also fun, rather than stressful, to live with an obedient dog. Pavlov's methods work! read more

My husband and I got this sweet mixed Malinois during COVID, and he's such a blessing now.... not initially though. As a puppy, Juno was wild, was hard to control on a leash and only listened to commands when he wanted to. My husband did the research and found Pavlov, rated super high in the Denver area. They don't service my zip code, so we have to drive to the trainer's house. But, I don't regret it at all. Juno trained with Virginia with the Pavlov board and train for 2 weeks. Total, I paid around $2600 (estimated) but I provided all meals. Virginia is amazing and really took care of Juno! She's a professional and sent us videos/pictures and updates weekly on his progress. At the end of the two weeks, Virginia taught Juno how to walk on a heel, stay until commanded to move, and helped us prevent Juno from jumping on others. I couldn't believe the dog that I received back from Virginia after 2 weeks was the same dog that I sent away for training. It literally was the best investment I ever made for Juno. Virginia came back to do a house visit with us and one more session at the dog park to do some recall work. Juno was also offered the chance to do future boarding with the trainer because Virginia thought he was well behaved enough to do it again! Highly highly recommend Virginia for dog training of all breeds, but she was AMAZING with my shepherd/mal dog. We love her and plan on doing more boarding in the future (~100$ per night). read more

BUYER BEWARE! We paid $4,500 for the 3 Week Board and Train Program which should have included Off-Leash Training. When we picked our dog up yesterday after 3 weeks, our dog exhibited no evidence of having been trained off leash which was the part we were most excited about. She clearly exhibits the obedience and on-leash training that was provided in the first 2 weeks. The Agenda on the website states that we would receive 2 photo/video updates per week of our dog Sophie's training. While we did receive the 2 videos for each of the first 2 weeks, there were no updates in week 3. After picking up our dog, my wife asked Pavlov Dog Training for the videos of her being trained in week 3. What we received instead was an angry call from the owner, Tanya in which she admitted that no off leash training had been provided but we would receive it in our next follow up appointment. That is not what we paid for nor is it what we were told through the website. I have attached screenshots of our initial email to Tanya after the angry phone call today and her one sentence response that directly contradicts the phone conversation earlier today. I chose Pavlov based on their Google reviews and this is completely unexpected. What we would like is a refund for the training that we paid for but did not receive or to receive the training at no additional charge. We have requested documentation or videos that the training we paid for actually happened and I will update this review accordingly once that happens. In the mean time, if you are considering using Pavlov for Off-Leash training, please ensure that you make Tanya aware that you expect the additional videos from week 3 and proof that the training happened. My dog, Cowboy, completed the two week board and train program with Isabelle at Pavlov - let me start by saying it was an amazing experience overall! I signed up for the program for a few reasons but my biggest struggles with Cowboy were walking him on leash without pulling and his reactivity only when on leash and seeing other dogs. It made it very hard to take Cowboy outside as I was always worried about running into other dogs on a walk. From our first meeting, Isabelle went over expectations on what the training would consist of for Cowboy. Isabelle sent updates at least twice a week to let me know how Cowboy was progressing. Since completing the two week board and train program, we have also had three follow up sessions with Isabelle to reinforce the skills that Cowboy learned. Cowboy completing the training with Isabelle has made our lives so much easier. We can take Cowboy for walks now without stressing over his reactivity to other dogs, and he no longer pulls me when I walk him on leash (using the Heel command.) His overall listening and responsiveness to basic commands (Sit, Stay, etc.) has vastly improved. He also learned the Recall command which I am excited to practice more with him. Cowboy's quality of life is and will be so much better now thanks to Isabelle. Isabelle's professionalism, kind personality, and knowledge of dog training made her a great fit for Cowboy. Also, shout out to Lisa, who was also great to work with throughout Cowboy's training program! Lisa was supportive and knowledgable as well throughout the entire process. Could not recommend Pavlov, and specifically Quinn, more! Our GSP was a leash puller, we tried all the things we knew or youtubed how to do and saw only minor or temporary improvements. Out of patience and options we called Pavlov and they tailored his training program to focus on leash walking, they also did a ton more and we are all so much happier. The continued support after the board and train program is phenomenal and we should have done this a while ago. Admittedly. Also! We just truly enjoyed working with Quinn. I brought my 65lb labradoodle, Oliver, to Pavlov, because two other trainers failed to get the results I wanted. They wasted a significant amount of my money trying to train me and my dog. These other trainers came to my house. Showed me how to do stuff. Told me my dog was taking advantage of me and then left. They would then come back three weeks later, and do the same thing. Needless to say it didn't work, I would get frustrated and just gave up on training. As a result, I wasn't walking him because he was such a strong puller on the leash, I could't let him around friends, or my kids and grandkids cuz he was so obnoxious, dangerous, and basically ruined the fun. So I just left him at home where he was miserable. I decided we needed different approach, and I signed him up for board and train with Pavlov. Quinn was his trainer. I was nervous about boarding him at first, but am now so thankful for Quinn and Pavlov training method. Believe me, it is a much better system to train the dog first and the owner second. They took really good care of Oliver, as he had special needs (he was eight weeks off of ortho surgery and still a little weak.) Besides being excellent care givers they are great trainers. They actually trained HIM, and this made it alot easier to train me. Quinn is patient, extremely knowledgeable, and a good communicator/teacher. (All Pavlov trainers seem to be really good!) She worked with me so well and was supportive, kind and loving with Oliver. This, mix of professional expertise and thoughtfulness was perfect for us. The followup lessons, at my house, off leash etc. are a godsend, (as are the Saturday afternoon classes you can attend for free.) This ongoing support helps keep me engaged in training. I am now nurturing Oliver's good behavior instead of giving up on his bad behavior. I whole heartedly recommend Pavlov to you. Having a trained dog allows us to do so much more together, and gives Oliver such a better life, I can take him so many more places, my family loves him, he is an involved and welcome participant in our life! read more

I enrolled my dog in board and train for two weeks. He needed a lot of help specifically with leash walking, jumping on people, counter surfing and name recall. His leash walking is significantly better with the help of Quinn and Jackie. We are looking forward to continuing our training in group classes at Pavlov. read more

Quinn was amazing with my dog thor! He's very energetic and at times could get out of hand but the team at pavlov took care of it without a doubt. Any kind of training you need they can definitely handle. He used to pull like a freight train on walks but now he's the easiest boy to handle. 10/10 reccomend!!! read more
