Training materials. Higher end foods. Everything you'd want in a pet store and well laid out. A few other smaller pet stores seem crammed or sparse but they really utilize this space and location! Right off 38th so parking can be touchy at times. Nearby Starbucks, restaurants, and an eyeglass store compete for parking. Would suggest parking closer to the gym or liquor store and walking over with your furry friend. Just a tad easier than trying to get into the closer parking spots with traffic going in and out. I am sooo happy we stumbled upon this small boutique pet shop while passing through Denver. The owners were kind and courteous and really knew their stuff. I had a lot of questions about food for my dog with a sensitive stomach, as well as wanting to find long-lasting durable chews he would like. I haven't tried the food they recommended yet but the chew (beef cheek alt to rawhide) is SUCH A HUGE HIT. My dog loves it and so far its the only thing we've given him that has lasted multiple days. I have been shopping at Simpawtico for a couple of years now and they have always been helpful. As a result, I have told my friends to shop there. One of my best friends took her dog in this last Sunday to check it out. I asked her how she liked it and she said she is not going back. The ladies who were working Sunday were not nice to her. My friend tends to dress a bit uniquely and might not look like she has lots of money. I know that she has money and loves her dog dearly. To be fair, I was not there Sunday, so I don't know what happened. I do know my friend was upset. I don't know if it was her appearance that made a difference or not. I just happened to walk by Simpawtico and decided to check it out - (my kitties needed a new toy anyway). What a great addition to the neighborhood (Berkeley, W Highlands). A very cheery yet very well organized space with loads of things for your favorite pooch or kitty to eat, play with, sleep in etc. Kevin Hogan, the owner was uber-friendly and helpful. He helped me select the perfect cat toy for my finicky feline. I definitely sensed that Kevin and his wife have opened this store as a labor of love. Just ask them, they are happy to order items for customers if they are able to swing it --I was just in the store the other day, looking for a certain flavor of raw kibble that they did not currently have in stock and he said he would order it into the store when their next order goes in. I think I just tend to like the smaller pet stores over the large chains, for a multitude of reasons. I really liked this store in particular. We really only stopped in to get a dog tag for our sweet new pup, but here's what I gathered while we were there: 1) it's smaller, meaning it's far less chaotic and a much more peaceful shopping experience. Who likes having a million distressed dogs barking and going nuts in every aisle anyway?? 2) They seem to carry great products. From the foods to the collars and leashes, they all seem to be good quality. 3) Friendly service! They were friendly with us as well as with the other customers coming and going while we were there. I stopped into this small but well-stocked shop and found everything I was hoping to find! The woman working behind the counter wasn't especially friendly, but she wasn't mean either. Just business-y. The stuff here is on the expensive side, but very high quality. For Pee Wee, I purchased a myriad of goodies. After having a bad experience down the street at Planet Pet with their non exist return policy and lack of knowledge of the manufacturer's return policy, I called Simpawtico and explained to them I was looking for a local pet store to start shopping at regularly and the bad experience I had with Planet Pet. The owner personally explained to me their return policy and pointed me to toys I could return if my dog chewed threw them. I had to return a toy they next day and the owner gave me no problems at all, and I finally settled for two toys my dog could handle and still haven't chewed up. This was a month ago. This is a small store with a HUGE heart. They have mainly dog and cat supplies, but I believe they also carry things for a few other pets. What I love is that the staff is always there to greet you and they are really knowledgeable about the products they carry and they have a great selection of natural, whole food mixes for your animal! The ladies who helped me tonight were both knowledgeable AND patient (I can be very indecisive) even though I came in near closing time. Puppy-specific // Be aware there were no puppy-specific formulated food available. However, I didn't take a star off because they do offer food that is formulated for all life stages (I prefer the smaller kibble). During my last visit, I was informed that the store may order food on my behalf. Return Policy // There is a 30 day return period with no returns on "Final Sale" or "Seasonal" items. However, there is a "Our goal is you 100% satisfaction" on the receipt, so they may offer store credit for customer satisfaction. I haven't had to return anything because my puppy (Zwei) as well as his canine roommates loved the treats. Completely amazing place! I came in expecting a personalized shopping experience and that's exactly what I received. The owner was knowledgeable about everything I questioned him about and he showed me an amazing brand of collars for my giant Ambullneo Mastiff and he looks awesome in his new collar! The owner even carried out the giant bag of dog food I purchased out to my Jeep. He also referred me to a trainer that would help me to learn how to socialize my dog better because he's a rescue dog and he's a little unruly towards other male dogs!
