She didn't turn it into an argument or make anyone feel talked down to. Instead, she immediately offered solutions: replace the paper or give us a refund. They didn't have the exact Arches paper my dad wanted to swap to, and she still went above and beyond by offering to call Blick and initiate an online return for us on the spot. That level of patience and customer service is rare. In the end, my dad decided to just keep the paper, but I left impressed with how well she handled everything. They are very helpful with suggestions, but at the same time not pushy - which we really like. We recently took in an old (~80 years) exhibition photograph which we have recently had restored. It hard not originally been framed with acid free materials - they likely did not exist at the time. But, we wanted to retain the feel and appearance of the original framing which had been done by the photographer. They were able to restore the frame, replace the matting with modern conservation materials while still maintaining the appearance of the original. We could not be more pleased! I received a pair of beautiful oil paintings as a gift from the artist. They arrived rolled up in a tube, and I spent a lot of time shopping around Seattle for a good way to preserve and display them. I checked out 7 shops here in the north/central part of Seattle. None were bad, but this place stood out for a few reasons: 1) SF&MG was more thorough than other places about discussing all of my options in different price ranges, and was patient and honest explaining things I didn't know about custom framing. 2) The frame suggestions were excellent. Peter's sharp eye, and perhaps SF&MG's inventory, produced a design that was unrivaled by any other shops. The scheme he suggested complimented my unusual paintings beautifully, and was impossible to recreate -- much less improve upon -- with other vendors. 3) Most of these places guarantee their prices, but SF&MG underbid their competitors (for standard stuff like getting the canvas onto the stretcher board) without even having to be told what their competitors quoted. 4) I'm really happy with the workmanship. The paintings look great, though of course I can't compare this to the shops I didn't choose... So, I have only one data point but so far so good with Simply Frames & Miner Gallery.

Good quality work. They were too busy? to give me good customer service. I had to call back several…read moretimes to get their attention. The order turned out OK quality wise. I wanted to send them a guide print to serve as a reference but they would not let me do it and no proofing available. It was a large Giclee so I was a little concerned as I have not ever worked with a lab that refused both guide print and proof. It was a reproduction of my wife's oil painting so color matching is important to us. Communication was over the phone and email so I might have gotten better service in person. A bit defensive when answering questions. Maybe it was me? or they are just too busy because they do good work at reasonable prices.
