As they cut each limb--and eventually the trunk--the crane carried the pieces OVER my house. If that sounds like a recipe for nervous pacing and indigestion, it was. Yet, I agreed to this approach because I had high confidence in Adirondack from my first phone call with the owner, Bill Barlow. He gave me his cell number, answered his cell most of the time and if not, he returned my call very quickly. He gave me an estimate within 24 hours. Bill worked with me on the timing of the tree-cutting. They showed up on time. They did the job safely and efficiently, and as promised. There was saw dust everywhere, but when they left, they had cleaned up so immaculately that you'd have no idea any work was done at my house that day. Adirondack was one of the most expensive of 8 companies I contacted, but I knew from my conversations with Bill that I was willing to pay more to have responsiveness (two of the companies I called kept saying they'd go to my house to give me a quote but never did) and the gut feeling that Adirondack was a quality operation that would keep my house (and my neighbors' houses) safe. Bill also provided copies of insurance documents, and volunteered to put my neighbors on the documents too since his crane would be parked in their yard (my backyard was too small and hard to reach to put any heavy equipment back there). However, big branches were falling off randomly with just regular winds so I was nervous being outside with the kids. Some of the trees were also leaving towards the house and the neighbors house so we really needed to have them removed. These guys are really the hardest working guys I've seen in a long time. They took down 15 huge trees in 3 days. One day worked from 7am - 8pm! Powerwashing our patio furniture to clean up after themselves! What? They raked the yard and I think even spread grass seed at the end to smooth out the tire tracks! Oh, and the truck had made a little crack in sidewalk, they brought it to our attention (we would have never noticed!) and we said it's no big deal so they offered to do some extra tasks to make up for it. Yes, removing trees can feel super expensive to you when you get the estimate but once you see the work they have to do (and risks they take) to remove each tree you'll understand why the rate has to be high.

We had an initial consultation to discuss our needs and the cost however after some consideration, my focus of the work I wanted done changed and therefore needed a new price. Well this joker thought it would be ok to just start the work and upon completion sends a picture showing the trees and shrubs were taken down BUT he never had our approval to proceed! He never told us the cost. WHO THE HELL DOES THAT! He claimed to have called and says no one answered. There was no voicemail there was no text, this unprofessional landscaper took it upon himself to just do as he wanted! He comes to my home, without approval and just did what he wanted ! Then to top it all off, he asks to be paid when he doesn't even do the job I asked for and when the remaining work is pointed out, he has the "you know what" to say, that will cost you more money!
