I want to give this place more stars. The food was very good. Anyone from outside West Virginia, so you know before you order, a "flatbread" is a whole ass pizza. Not what many folks think of when they order a flatbread. Dinner was move in weekend for WVU. We went with a party of 7. My son and wife and I plus my sons dorm mate and his mom, dad and stepdad. Was a 30 ish min wait which was fine. It was Friday night. Hostess was friendly. Waitress started out friendly and just got more and more rude as the night went on. We had well over $200 tab of and drink and she just became very snotty the longer we were there. It was not closing time or even close to it. They were out of the pulled pork so my son ordered a flatbread so we now had 7 whole ass pizzas plus 2 appetizers. His flatbread showed up after we all were done eating. We had two full pizzas left over. Ended up at a college party I'm sure. The last person to show up for dinner asked for wings and the waitress just got annoyed and said we don't have wings and walked off. Was about as rude a response as I've encountered. We had asked about beer suggestions and she just said she wasn't legally allowed to drink so she had none. The whole encounter was bizzare and will probably not go back. read more

This is a gorgeous place to sit outside an enjoy the sunset. The pizza was amazing! We had a tasting of several different beers as well and all of them were tasty. We waited a while to get a table but it was worth it. The service, food and atmosphere were amazing. The crust of the pizza was definitely the start, chewy and delicious! If I could give no stars I would and I will NEVER be back. I visited from out of state and was extremely disappointed by their service. We were set quickly and they were was a full bar and roughly 6 tables with over 12 servers walking around yet we were just stared at. Took 25 minutes before someone came to take our drink order and that was the ONLY drink order we were able to make. Our waitress kept disappearing and when we would turn and look for her the other staff would just stare back at us then go back to chatting with other coworkers. And then another 25 min for a waiter to come to the table. Then another 40 min to get our food. Ambiance was okay. Basic brewery aesthetic. Good parking was provided and the waiter and staff were friendly. Some major improvements need to be made to the menu as well as main operations. Fun in an igloo!! Only igloos (that I know of) at Deep Creek Lake, and cannot believe it's only a $20 rental which is applied to your food bill. Make a reservation online for the igloo. The indoor space looked really big and they do have lots of outdoor space in summer. We ordered a flatbread, pretzels and cheese, and a couple cocktails. Our service was prompt and friendly and we were taken back and seated in our igloo right on time. First timers here and really had a nice time. read more

We went with 4 of the flatbread pizzas and came away feeling satisfied overall. #1 Fire on the Mtn - fantastic flavoring and great combination of the pepperoni and banana peppers. #2 Pesto Prosciutto - nice! Love the combination of the pesto sauce with the prosciutto. #3 Northside? Great flavor but it was missing the balsamic sauce which would have made it definitely better. #4 Mushroom medley- bland and disappointing. Overall flavors were great, great crust but a bit light on toppings-$13/personal size. I'm not disappointed at all in the choice... enjoyable pizza. Just make sure they get that balsamic on the Northside (and if you want the mushroom pizza get the balsamic on that one too!!!). read more

My family continuously returns to this restaurant every time we are in the area. We absolutely love it here and the flatbread pizzas are always so tasty. We have not tried one we haven't liked yet. The margarita flight was also delicious. Our waiter, Dale, was just so awesome even with the restaurant being short on staff. I believe there was live music that starts at 6:00pm but we left just before that. There is indoor and outdoor seating, with bar seating inside. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone! read more

The beer cheese tasted spoiled. The roasted chicken (that goes on salads and the waitress who didn't write anything down forgot) came out ice cold and not even remotely cooked. The lettuce for the Caesar salad was browner than dirt. The pizza was atrocious and left a terrible taste in your mouth. The waitress came over several times to check on us but promptly sat down at the bar before we got our check and started drinking (Bright red hair that's you). Had to go to the bar to get our check. Overall, they tried too hard to be hipsters with subpar service and food. Definitely not work almost $70 for a two person tab with no alcohol. Abandon hope all ye who enter here. At least the bathrooms were clean. You'll need it after the beer cheese and raw chicken! read more

Another wonderful meal at Mountain State, we got the hummus appetizer and two flatbread pizza, very good. Dale our waitperson was attentive but not overbearing and his application of balsamic glaze to my pizza was fabulous. Always nice to try a new pizza flavor. The only negative was the hostess who chastised us for not having a reservation. I was a bit surprised as we were literally the only customers there! Stopped in again on my most recent trip to Deep Creek Lake. Just wanted to give a big shout out to the staff - they were amazing. We were there on Memorial Day and it was empty (maybe everyone left from the big weekend) - I was excited because I've never been able to just walk right in. Second time here - a great little place to have a pizza and a beer after a day of skiing at Wisp. Prices are reasonable and pizzas are big and they don't skimp on toppings. Small pizza would have easily fed 2 - but at the price we each had our own and now have plenty for a late night snack. Service was attentive and food came out pretty quick. They have a small craft beer selection of about 18. The first beer we had came out warm - but the second was cold and fantastic. They have a page of signature cocktails - we didn't try any - but they seem pretty basic they made fancy with movie Title names. Gluten free (cauliflower) and vegetarian options out there. Bathrooms could use some attention - maybe they were busy. Lots of parking. Really good for big groups. Several large tables that easily seat 15-20 so bring friends and family. read more

We had a party of 9 so made a reservation for 8 PM online. When we arrived, it wasn't very crowded, but there was no host or servers to greet us, so we just stood around the host booth for awhile. Someone came over and asked if we had been helped and then just walked away. Finally a host came over, but even with our reservation said the wait would be about 30 minutes to sit together. Once we were seated, our server was very nice and friendly and service was pretty quick. Food was okay; nothing spectacular but it was good. I'm pregnant so ordered a mocktail and realized that I was charged $14 (the price of a regular margarita) for the alcohol-free version. read more

Stopped here on a trip to the area for some food and good times, drove through the rain (as per usual) and heard of this place from other friend's reviews and word of mouth in our area. The name lenses the idea that it was more of a brewpubeatery type place but upon stopping it looked like a regular spot to me. It was very busy when we arrived, plenty of tables, bar seating, and a larger area in the back which had board games that they look like they hand out to people? Or maybe there's a board game night? Not sure. At any rate, ordered a water and navigated the menu. Menu physically was my biggest gripe - it was a laminated steno type sized paper put together by one ring on top left corner. Not a big deal- just was odd. Ordered the country caviar - which was a bean-filled salsa that had a kick to it and comes with tortilla chips. It was VERY GOOD. What's odd about these menu items at any place is you get 3X the chips for what you get for the salsa or dip. I would heavily encourage this item! For a meal I went with the fire on the mountain flatbread (which is pizza). Came topped with sauce, cheese, pepperoni, sausage, banana peppers, and onion. Was very good- would have been nice to have the banana peppers chopped more as the toppings made it nearly impossible to pick up the slices. Great flavor- intense heat. Opted to pass on dessert but saw a pb pie I would've tried or a root beer float that we talked about. Next time. It's a date. read more

Excellent variety of beers and ciders, large bar area, decently sized menu. The spinach and artichoke dip is the best I've ever had. The pizza was great, cooked to perfection with quality toppings. We did have to wait about 10-15 minutes on a Friday night for our server once we were seated but from then on the service was great and he apologized for the wait and explained they had gotten unexpectedly slammed in the previous 30 minutes. The open space does make it a bit on the loud side but it's a brewery and not a fine dining establishment with gloved servers so ‍ highly recommend! read more

Loved this place! We sat outside per the health guidelines but aside from mask wearing, this felt as close to normal as we could have hoped for. The staff was quick to check in on us. They kept a respectable distance and always wore masks. I had a gluten free buffalo chicken flatbread and it was really good. There were so many add-on options for both flatbreads and salads that I had a hard time choosing what to try. The beer my husband had was awesome too. There was a musician playing music outside and taking requests. Tables were kept at the right distance apart. The reservation process was easy and straightforward. I really can't wait to come back again. We only had a few nights in Deep Creek and I was tempted to try this place twice instead of exploring a new restaurant. Their takeout on a Sunday night was prepped super fast m, so I'm appreciative, and we enjoyed our meal on the back porch even more. I loved the Fire on the Mountain Pizza (although I got it without banana peppers). The kids dug their Hawaiian and margherita pizzas. Marnie wasn't impressed with her mushroom pizza, sadly. A local suggested this place to us and we are so glad that they did! They have live music (maybe just weekends) that was fantastic! The local vibe is chill and casual. We had quality service and good food. I'm not a huge pizza lover, so I can really appreciate a good one when I get it. It's worth driving a few extra minutes outside of "town" to eat at this place. Tip: Bring a jacket. It's frigid inside at night due to all of the doors being open. I guess it's a Covid thing. read more

BLUF: good pizza in a lively atmosphere Sites in here three times now, and each time has left happy. All I've ever had at the pizza so that's all I can speak to. Hear me out: 1.) My family and I finally got to eat at this heavily recommended brewery after 2 failed attempts. We drove about an hour to MSB, both on Saturday evenings, and could not be seated either time - over an hour wait. (Some folks may use this as a time to sit at bar, which is great, but my brother is 16.) They do not take reservations and really, really should. 2.) The parking situation is a rarity. MSB is located on a huge lot, with a parking lot to match, but it seems to get out of hand. Luckily, we were there twice before and knew what to expect as to parking for when we finally got to be seated, It reminds me of parking at an outdoor concert - in the grass and hopefully no one blocks you in. They do have signs that say "Don't block entrance" but its a brewery and I think people must be drinking before they arrive - cause its not followed. Low and behold we got block in anyways. Tough, but staff was on it, semi-quick. 3.) This is definitely a place for drinks and apps, not for planning on a restaurant meal. So if beer and pizza is your thing, you're good. I love both of those things. However, if you're ordering for just yourself..its tough. There's a lot of share-ables, but minimal single serving food options. Flatbread and pizza are all to share for 2-3 people for a medium and 4-5 for a large. Pesto Pizza was really good. Meat lovers was decent, just randomly had BBQ sauce on it and it was overpowered. 4.) For those who do not order beer, the ice and things made with water..the taste is pretty bad. I don't know if it was just an unfortunate chance or that's how it is all the time. My water was like drinking from an old pipe/metal taste. For a busy night, it was just a hair too long to wait for a refill or suggestion for another drink. 5.) Sadly, we all make mistakes and our waiter, forgiving, made a mistake and ran the payment on someone else's bill. Nothing against him or the facility - mistakes happen. Yikes. Walked in past a disclaimer saying to expect slow service. Whatever, we thought, how slow can it be? Why didn't we accept that if the establishment posts (in multiple locations) a sign saying that their service is slow (because they do takeout?) that it would be. Because...it was. Really slow. An hour and a half wait for food before we paid our bill for beer and left. The beer's good. Huge space. Plenty of empty tables, but apparently a bunch of people in a big party were in the back room, and a bunch on the patio. The main room was mostly empty though. So my issue...why aren't you staffed such that if you have a full house (they weren't full) you serve people in a timely fashion? It's enough of a problem (we read other yelp reviews too late to help us) that many reviews reference ridiculous wait-times...staff up. Add cooks/servers? At one point my wife asked for chips for the table so that we at least had something to munch on while we waited...and she tossed three bags of kettle chips on the table. It was actually sort of amusing at that point. But we still left and hadn't gotten our food an hour and a half later. Don't bother. read more

Despite a huge wait list, the hostesses got our family seated within 10 minutes. They were so friendly with our kids and went out of their way to get crayons for them. The options for pizza are seemingly endless! And worry not if you have dietary restrictions. They have plenty of gluten free options for pizza crust and otherwise. The cocktails weren't amazing so for our second round we opted for beer. Our server was sort of clueless about beer but we ended up happy with our choices. I'm not sure the hours are posted correctly here on Yelp because we showed up thinking they were just opening and they had clearly been open for hours.
