Stayed in a very nice and unique suite at this lodge. Restaurant is attached. Made a reservation but the two of us were seated at an 8 top at the bar. Had a bourbon drink that was watery and not tasty. Had French onion soup. Little taste and cheap cheese on top. Wife had 22 dollar scallop app w three little scallops. They were not good. Mains took easily 45 minutes. We were all ready to leave when they came. For 65 bucks the crab imperial had just ok crabmeat. Fried haddock was ok. A 200 plus dinner needs to be much better. read more

This is one of about 5 restaurants on deep creek you can boat up to, and I feel the best atmosphere of them all, so it's a regular staple for us. The outdoor patio space is large, dog friendly, and has ample sun shades so it doesn't get too hot. Outdoor bar too. Beautiful indoor dining area as well. The cocktails and food are great, service is always fast - which is impressive for how busy it gets. The prices are a little high... but it's always a stellar experience. Side note: one of the best grapefruit crushes ever! But they salt the rim which is odd, ask them to skip that step. read more

Stopped in on friday night and luckily we got seated for a table of four right away. Be sure to come hungry because the portions are large and you get so much food! Had the pork chop. I've really never seen anything like it. There was no chop, just pork. It was freakishly large. Which may sound like a good thing, until you taste it. Imagine an eraser the size of a brick. It looked like a pork chop that would be served on mine craft. Like a block of Velveeta cheese but pink. It was served with apple crisp that the waitress explained was supposed to serve as a laxative because the pork would be difficult to digest. Upon arriving in the Deep Creek area for the first time, McDreamy and I were starving. A friend had recommended Dutch's. So we popped in as early birds to sitat the bar. Dutch's is what I'd call a throwback dining experience. It's elegant in a 1980s shoulder pads, hardwoods, and tablecloths kind of way. Had there been a self-serve salad bar with picked beets and eggs, I wouldn't have been surprised. It's cozy and warm, not overly fancy or stuffy, but put together in a way that lets you know you're there for a sophisticated meal even if you're wearing jeans and a pullover. The bartender, Austin, greeted us warmly and set us up with menus. He provided some recommendations and then let us browse the menu. Dutch's offers an impressive list of cocktails along with reasonably priced bottled beers and wines by the glass. We ordered a round of drinks and then ordered our meals. Austin had recommended the lump crab cakes, quality steaks, and the pork chops. We got the forewarning that the portions were going to be somewhat large after seeing the couple next to us grossly over order for their meal. We then discovered the lighter fare section of the menu from which I ordered a single crab cake with a house salad and sweet potato. McDreamy ordered the strip steak and crab cake combination also with a salad and potato. Our house salads were served quickly with a small loaf of warm bread. The salads were served in small frosted glass plates (a callback to the self serve salad bars). The serving size was on point for a starter and the vegetables were crisp and fresh. The bread was so delicious and served with flavored and regular butter. Our main dishes were delivered a bit later, not right away but also not too delayed - the timing gave us a chance to settle and continue talking after our salads. My crab cake and potato were scrumptious. McDreamy's steak was perfection; it was a thick cut fired to medium. He was pleased. The combination entree provided a lot of food. We could have probably split it and both been content if we hadn't been famished. So be mindful that though some of the menu prices are on the high side, the serving sizes reflect the value. We were offered a variety of dessert choices after our meal. I wasn't ready for dessert so we chose a takeaway order. That was our only disappointment. A cinnamon roll cheesecake was highlighted as a special and cheesecake travels and keeps well in the fridge. About two hours later, while relaxing on the couch, I grabbed the cheesecake. It smelled exactly like a cinnamon roll. It tasted like a cold slice of cinnamon roll, especially with the smear of icing on top. It unfortunately tasted nothing like cheesecake and frankly had the texture of uncooked cinnamon roll dough. Each forkful was a sickening combination of clumpy cinnamon swirl and soggy bread-like textures. I took a few bites but finally put my fork down after gagging a second time. This is a complete shocker because I love dessert and will normally never leave a sweet treat unfinished. All in all, we really enjoyed our experience and meal at Dutch's. So much so that we made reservations to return the next night with our friends. I plan to try the pork chop and will obviously steer clear of the cheesecake special. read more

We hadn't dined here in a few years when we made a reservation last weekend. It's expensive--true. But the food is phenomenal and generous and the service is very, very good, even when they're super busy. You can always ask for a pub menu, which has burgers, crab cake sandwiches, etc., for about half the cost of most dinner menu items. Everything on it is equally delicious. But you do have to ask for it at dinner time. We had crab cakes, scallops, a burger, and a variety of sides. Everything was amazing. Beautiful water-view table and wonderful service, start to finish. We didn't order alcohol, which helped keep cost down. It's a special treat. But you probably deserve it. We're going to try to come back more often. read more

3.5 I arrived here by boat... so there's that. After a lazy Saturday in early fall spent carousing on the lake, my friends decided that we needed a new location at which to do nothing. At first I was a bit concerned that we'd look out of place... and then I remembered where we were and that when on vacation with Housewives sorts the presumption is belonging so no one cares too much about looks. Plus, we were arriving in a boat, so... We docked, grabbed a table on the patio and got to day drinking. I was on vacation so I went for the highly-touted pina colada. Being a former Miamian, I know from pina coladas. This was a bit too icy for my tastes but I was in western Maryland, not South Beach. Since man cannot live by liquor alone, we ordered some apps to nosh on. Neither the crab dip nor the spinach dip were anything to write home about -- serviceable but not memorable. The most memorable thing about the affair (interlude) was the expense. You're in a tourist trap and you will pay dearly for it. All that and I'm rounding up? Yep. Due to late arriving rain we experienced both outdoor and indoor. I had intended for us to be indoor, but when we arrived the weather was clear and my 17 yo really wanted to view the lake. The outdoor dining is a dockside lake bar. Honi-Honi with quieter music, better food (on site) and more dogs. The amazing staff quickly and cheerfully moved us inside when the rain threatened. The indoor atmosphere is different. Quieter. Calmer more "fine dining" As for price point. Prices aren't on the website. And they are high. 1 crab cake, bread, salad and baked potato is $40. All of us weren't dressed for the upstairs- but there seemed to be a mixed bag of casual to semi-formal and we didn't feel uncomfortable. Stopped at Dutch's for lunch while boating on the lake. We sat outside because it was a pleasant day and the patio/deck area is so nice. Had a very nice bar out there too. Our waitress was fantastic. She took great care of us and since it was so hot out, she was quick to refill our waters every chance she could. I ordered the grilled chicken Caesar salad and it was one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had. Also recommend getting the blackened chicken if you like your meat a little spicy. This will be two reviews in one. Our party of 8 was in Deep Creek for an extended weekend recently. We rented a pontoon and stopped at Dutch's for a light lunch. So cool that boat parking was available (obviously I'm not experienced in this realm), and we sat on the gorgeous patio. Great atmosphere and lovely service by Clarissa. The gang ordered some cocktails and light meals -- appetizers or soups mostly. We started with some pretty incredible bread with honey butter. The French onion soup was stellar (2 of us ordered); my husband loved the decadent potato soup. Several enjoyed chowder, fried green tomatoes or caprese salad. Not a single complaint. The drinks were lovely, too. The combination of the beautiful weather, patio, water views, friendly service and enjoyable meals really made this the perfect visit. Two days later, we had reservations for dinner. Our table was inside, which was ok as the day turned a bit gloomy. We were a little bit muddy from a hike in the rain, but were still welcomed. The restaurant is elegant and more traditional. Again, the bread! Menu varied and prices varied as well - something for everyone. I had the "lighter" salmon option. Perfectly prepared and the right size. My husband had the chicken parmesan, which was several pieces of chicken (tenders, I think) over linguini. He didn't complain and brought home 2/3 of his meal. The rest of the group had a variety of salmon dishes or scallops. In each case, the server gave separate checks, which is always such a relief in a big party. Incidentally, my sister was married and had her reception in the Silver Tree Inn many years ago. I saw the same dining room. Overall good experience but the older lady hostessing on the back patio was SO rude. We had a reservation for 7 and she incorrectly had 6 and couldn't have been ruder about it. For how expensive of an establishment it was, I was shocked. On the positive side, our meal was delicious and my husband and I loved the champagne. We split the seafood platter and it was incredible! Food was really impressive. Service was slow but our server made up for it by getting us an anniversary dessert on the house which was really sweet of her! A fantastic place in Deep Creek. Of note the side road to get there off the main road through Deep Creek is currently under construction, there is about a 10 minute detour so prepare accordingly. They have both indoor and outdoor/patio dining, we were able to get a reservation for the latter. It was a fun atmosphere with the outdoor bar. Service was excellent and staff was very friendly. Great drink selection. We started with the Hot & Spicy Shrimp, we really liked it. I had the Chicken Oscar as my entree, it was chicken topped with crab. It was terrific, would definitely recommend as a sort of different spin on surf and turf. This place is on the pricier side but certainly worth it. A group of four of us dined here for dinner last weekend. We made reservations beforehand (recommended for a Saturday night). Parking was plentiful but almost all spots were taken. Read signage carefully. Do not park in spots designated for residents (easy-to-miss signs). The interior is really dim, almost like a dungeon, and as such it's hard to read the menus. The spinach dip was creamy, fresh, hot, and delectable! Definitely worth the price. The entree portions are HUGE. The chicken Parmesan that I ordered was so large that I literally weighed my leftovers when I got home: 3 pounds! That's after I ate about 10% of it. Share it among three ravenous adults! Someone on staff should be obligated to tell new customers about their portions, but no one did. read more

Austin was our server and was great. We shared the scallops and oysters which were most tasty. Scallops were cooked perfectly and the baked oysters with bacon and spinach were delicious. I ordered the surf and tuff with the 22oz Ribeye and Crab Cake. I started on the Crab Cake which was 99 percent lump crab meat - chefs kiss. My twice baked potato was a perfect match. By the time I tried the Ribeye, I was stuffed and had to tap out but I did save a lil space for a creme burlee bite.
