Steak crostini
Lindsey M.

I was amazed by this place. We passed it on our way to our airbnb and circled back around for a happy hour dinner. We got the smokehouse nachos, the steak crostini, and the pear and prosciutto flatbread. The nachos were truly the best nachos I've ever had. It had a perfect amount of toppings, so that there was something on every chip. The crostinis were great with a generous portion of steak on each one. So happy we stumbled upon this place, the servers were so kind and helpful with suggestions for our meals! We sat outside with our dog and it was so peaceful! 10/10 would recommend.

It was amazing, we stopped in for a late dinner. There was a live musician and the local low key atmosphere was perfect. Our waitress was so friendly and made great suggestions. The firecracker chicken skewers live in my dreams.. and the steak crostini were chefs kiss! It definitely makes me want to drive back to MD to eat there!

What a wonder surprise all the way from a great staff to well mixed drinks. Food are like Tapas and my table several from Steak Crostinis to pulled pork nachos and Fire Cracker Chicken skewers. The Roasted Olives were a bit much but still an interesting offer. The interior was bright and welcoming and busy for a Monday night! This place is off the beaten track but worth the find. Now that we have found this place it is high on the list of places to recomm

Is it appropriate to take young kids?

I've only been there once and I'm not from the area, so I'm not too sure. All of the employees were very kind though, so I'm sure you could call and ask!

While the hostess initially quoted a two-hour wait and came across a bit cold, things improved quickly. As we settled in with some truly delicious cocktails--a smoked old fashioned and a playful Plum-P Up the Jam--we ended up being seated in just about 20 minutes. Once at our table, the experience really shined. Our waitress was wonderful: warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. The food was excellent and beautifully prepared. I enjoyed the steak frites, cooked perfectly, while my wife had the scallops, which were rich, tender, and full of flavor. Despite the rocky start, the evening turned into a fantastic birthday dinner in a stunning part of Maryland. Firewater Kitchen & Bar delivered a memorable meal, and we were glad we chose it for the celebration.

We went on a Thursday night and while it was busy, we were able to be seated right away. It just happened to be their "steak night" so that was a pleasant surprise. I got the filet and my husband had the cowboy ribeye. Each came with a salad and baked potato. My steak was cooked perfectly and it was delicious. We ended with the firewater pie which has an oatmeal cookie crust and a caramel filling - lemon bar vibes. It was out of this world! Definitely would recommend this spot!

I would never recommend anybody in their right mind go to this place for any reason…read more This place was totally unprepared. Yes I was part of a big group but I have never gone to a restaurant and the place not have enough menus for the people there. If I have to wait for the person next to me to review their menu before I can even look to order, you have failed as a restaurant. Also if you know you'll have a big group and apparently my group made reservations in advance be prepared to handle the big group, be prepared to deal with multiple methods of payment and don't tell us at the beginning of the meal the big can be split and then turn around at the end of the meal and say it can't be done. Also don't just say is, what we'll do is evenly split the bill amongst everyone at the table, that would be great if everybody had the exact same meal but that wasn't the case. The food was horrible and almost as bad as the service. The Pot Roast was horrible, the meat was incredibly dry and bland. The potatoes and carrots were equally flavorless and unimpressive. Food was also ridiculously overpriced for the garbage they provided. This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I would never ever return.

Definitely a much better atmosphere than the typical ski lodge cafeteria or dive bar, with rustic…read morechairs and dimly lit with a fireplace. Awesome beer and drink selection and surprisingly good sounding menu, though unfortunately none of the food we had was as good as it sounded. The mussels were overcooked, the egg on the poutine was overcooked (meaning no beautiful egg yolk running all over the fries), entrees were lukewarm, and for some strange reason the bread pudding from the pre-fix menu was rushed out to us before we'd even finished our entree plates. Also, why would you serve a baked potato with a pasta dish as a side? That just makes no sense. A step above bar food but you probably don't want to risk getting anything other than a burger. The kind of place that sets your expectations high but doesn't deliver. Cozy enough spot for a drink after a day of skiing though.
