I would never recommend anybody in their right mind go to this place for any reason. This place was totally unprepared. Yes I was part of a big group but I have never gone to a restaurant and the place not have enough menus for the people there. If I have to wait for the person next to me to review their menu before I can even look to order, you have failed as a restaurant. Also if you know you'll have a big group and apparently my group made reservations in advance be prepared to handle the big group, be prepared to deal with multiple methods of payment and don't tell us at the beginning of the meal the big can be split and then turn around at the end of the meal and say it can't be done. Also don't just say is, what we'll do is evenly split the bill amongst everyone at the table, that would be great if everybody had the exact same meal but that wasn't the case. The food was horrible and almost as bad as the service. The Pot Roast was horrible, the meat was incredibly dry and bland. The potatoes and carrots were equally flavorless and unimpressive. Food was also ridiculously overpriced for the garbage they provided. This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I would never ever return. read more

Definitely a much better atmosphere than the typical ski lodge cafeteria or dive bar, with rustic chairs and dimly lit with a fireplace. Awesome beer and drink selection and surprisingly good sounding menu, though unfortunately none of the food we had was as good as it sounded. The mussels were overcooked, the egg on the poutine was overcooked (meaning no beautiful egg yolk running all over the fries), entrees were lukewarm, and for some strange reason the bread pudding from the pre-fix menu was rushed out to us before we'd even finished our entree plates. Also, why would you serve a baked potato with a pasta dish as a side? That just makes no sense. A step above bar food but you probably don't want to risk getting anything other than a burger. The kind of place that sets your expectations high but doesn't deliver. Cozy enough spot for a drink after a day of skiing though. read more

I went to Deep Creek a few weekends ago to celebrate my anniversary, and I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience at DC's Bar and Restaurant. On the first night that we went, I ordered the devil's drop burger and my boyfriend ordered the beef brisket sandwich. For an appetizer, we chose the crab dip which was great. My burger was cooked perfect and my boyfriend seemed to really love his sandwich. DC's has a pretty decent selection of drinks, so I ordered a cocktail or two which weren't too strong or too weak, and my boyfriend ordered the bourbon flight for $12 (awesome deal)! DC's also had a decent selection of beer. We were also given a free dessert of our choice since we were celebrating a special occasion! The next day, we went to brunch which was okay. I ordered the creme brûlée French toast, while my boyfriend ordered the Chesapeake Benedict. The Benedict was great from what I tried - very crabby! My French toast was alright...I felt like it could've had more flavor but it wasn't bad. Our server during brunch was not the most personable, but that's okay. For our second night at dinner, we ordered the crab dip appetizer again (awesome), and the Main Street burger and bacon wrapped meatloaf as our entrees. The Main Street burger was good, but definitely not as amazing as the devil drop burger was the night before. HOWEVER, the bacon wrapped meatloaf was TO DIE FOR! There are not many places that I would compare to my father's cooking, but the bacon wrapped meatloaf that night was tough competition! Cooked absolutely perfect, very juicy, large portion size, and the mashed potatoes were equally as great. I am still talking about that entree (and am slightly jealous that my boyfriend was the one to order it instead of me haha). I even asked the server to please say something to the cooks back there about how awesome our dining experience there was. On our last morning, we ordered the same meals we did for brunch the day before. However, we tried to order brunch appropriate drinks (mimosa and screwdriver) from the brunch drinks menu, and we were told that they don't serve alcohol until 1pm so that was a bit of a bummer and a little misleading, but totally understandable. Our favorite part of the experience was our AWESOME server who we had for dinner on BOTH nights - Savannah! Savannah was awesome! So patient, personable, friendly, and very nice. On the first night, it became busy quickly and she was very apologetic about our drinks that took a little longer than usual to be made, but it didn't really phase us. Savannah was definitely the best server I have had, and best server Jon and I have probably had as a couple! She was great and I hope that her hard work and awesome personality is recognized! If we ever go back to Deep Creek, we will definitely be requesting Savannah as our server. Overall, I had a great experience at DC's! Great service, awesome server, amazing food, and a nice environment! DC's is definitely worth going to if you are ever in Deep Creek - don't let the fact that it's a bar/restaurant in a hotel steer you away because it is definitely worth it! read more

After spending most of the morning learning how to ski, I was exhausted and looking to re-fuel with a nice lunch. DC's seemed to be where it's at around the Wisp resort, and my family had dined here almost every time they come up on weekends. Walking through the lodge, I was pleasantly surprised at how massive the space actually is. It was definitely a busy lunch hour, and most of the place was packed. However even with having a party of 12, they were able to seat us at a big enough table in a matter of 10 minutes. Looking at the menu, they have a nice selection of American-style food. I decided on the smoked turkey sandwich and a glass of beer to loosen up. We didn't have to wait too long for all of us to get our food which was great. The sandwich itself was okay. The turkey meat really just seems liked deli meat you would buy pre-packaged at the store. Nevertheless I was starving so down it went. I would probably try something else the next time I visit. The other thing that was a little off-putting, was the leaking roof and buckets catching the water right next to us. It seemed dangerous, and a bit of an eye-sore. It cut into the overall "lodgy" feel of the place. Overall I'd give this place another try. I know how busy they can get so another visit may be different. read more

We came here as part of a wine tour, but most of us ended up eating too. The wine was fine, so this review will be about the food and service. The brisket was delicious! Sides are a la cart, so it's only the sandwich. It's not huge, but the bread is fresh and the brisket and tender and flavorful. The service was definitely subpar. The waiter was miserable, but we didn't let it ruin the meal. The restaurant only had one other table of 2 dining, so there wasn't really an excuse to be elusive for most of the meal. read more

The main thing this place has going for it is convenience! The service is good, the food......bleh. We sat in the bar area for apres ski several times, then had lunch and dinner in the restaurant. The bar area serves a limited menu of things like: grilled chicken sandwich, burger (with American cheese, I might add - bleck), crab dip w/ pretzels, fries, onion rings, and others. Nothing spectacular. We tried the crap dip w/ pretzels and it was decent. We also got the grilled chicken sandwich once without American cheese, and it was fine. For the restaurant....I had the creamy crab soup & a salad, and he had the grilled Chicken caesar for lunch one day. Everything was pretty good. For dinner another night, I had the vegetarian pasta and he had pot roast. The vegetarian pasta was just plain bad. A TON of raw garlic and onions throughout which ruined the dish. I ordered whole wheat pasta, and what I got was not whole wheat. The server assured me it was but I know better. I guess if we stay at WISP again I'd go back to the bar or stick to lunch in the restaurant. read more

We ate dinner at DC's after a day on the slopes. The waitress didn't know much about the menu, but the food was great. We loved the wings and crab stuffed mushrooms! Wings were crispy and seasoned perfectly. Pot roast, chicken fingers, jambalaya and soups were all delicious. Decor is just ok...I think it could be made a lot better. Visited here recently after having not been there for 4-5 years. Very disappointed. Website showed prime rib special. Did not have that, rather had a sandwich special. Underwhelmed on the dinners. Steak was okay, mashed potatoes were cold and lumpy. Used to serve fresh hot loaves of bread, now do not have bread available. Pasta dish was okay, on the small side. Dont be fooled by the photos of this place in their ads. They closed up their fireplace so gone is any sort of ambience. And yes its cold in there due to the high ceilings bring a parka if you plan on dining there. Now they have a bar area that shares the fireplace with the ski resort so maybe if they get a clue and light the fire place more people would come to pay for a drink by the fire and they could afford to buy some firewood as it seems its closed do to budget cuts. If you read the local guides all the competing restaurants are stating the have warm fireplace and guess what they do! Food wise its about on par with price level but again go in the summer or you will not be very pleased. We spoke to other diners and they all were disappointed about the fireplace as well how could the not be. I offer a suggestion of perhaps a collection box for the firewood but then again isn't this place in the middle of a forest? read more

Staying in the motel was late needed some food walk down here and was surprised had the bacon wrapped meatloaf it was moist and very tasty. Came with a side of mashed potatoes that were very good. Service was adequate. read more

I could say a whole lot about this place, but don't even want to waste the time or energy. This review is a month overdue since I was there for the weekend to celebrate NYE. We ate there the first night and our server was nice and informative. She was on the ball with drink refills, condiments, and such. The food was just ok. Came out warm but not hot. Would do apps again but probably not a meal. The kids enjoyed their meals. The bartenders were two of the RUDEST people I have ever encountered in the service industry and overall. The female who worked Saturday (I think her name was Maggie) was so rude I had to call her out. Her response to a question I asked made me wonder how she is even still employed ANYWHERE. I told her I didn't realize ordering a drink would make her so grumpy and nasty. She ended up serving me and my dad. We tipped her well only because I worked for tips and managed restaurants through college and grad school. If we had not been waiting to be seated to eat with my hungry niece and nephew, I would've asked for a manager and not eaten there. We ate and ordered drinks on the way out. She was being overly nice because she knew I was pissed! I tipped her very well on the last round we took on the way out hoping she was just having a bad day and would be nicer the next night. The male bartender was so nasty when I asked if the kitchen was still open when I was trying to order drinks the next night that I couldn't speak for a second. I ended up just leaving and keeping my money for the 5 drinks and 4 shots I was going to pay for. I just went back to my room and loaded up my backpack before I headed back to the very disappointing NYE party they were having. My intentions were to grab snacks and drinks from DC's to enjoy in the atrium area where the DJ was. That obviously didn't happen. I'll make sure to avoid DC's next time I spend almost $300/night to stay at the resort. I could speculate about why they were so nasty, but there's no excuse for treating customers the way they did. I seriously hope management/ownership take the time to read these reviews. I know it's easy building regular clientele so your bartenders treat people like crap because they don't expect to see them again. They don't have to worry about seeing my face again. Too bad the other resort employees' superior customer service hasn't rubbed off on them. read more

The most disappointing dining experience in a very long while. We were 0 for 6 out of 6 dishes on two consecutive nights. The food items feel like they have been put together with already made (low quality) ingredients from the grocery store. The ingredients themselves often don't jive in the dishes or, if they do, aren't prepared properly. This is an expensive restaurant and the calamari we got tasted fishy and the bruschetta was basically soggy bread slices with canned tomatoes + vinegar on top. As an example of the best dish i had there, by the second night I was afraid to order anything seafood (because of the earlier calamari experience) that I got their portobello sandwich. It came in an old, dry, white bun (just like the husband's hamburger the previous night), with a pretty small portobello mushroom which had been marinated only in balsamic vinegar (no depth or flavor whatsoever), a few thick slices of avocado, a leaf of lettuce , a slice of onion thicker than the mushroom and your standard cheap olive tapenade. Overall a good idea for a dish (maybe they got it off of food.com or something) but all the toppings were bigger in size than the main piece. I ended up chopping everything and stacking it on top of the portobello and eating it with a different side because really, the bun was not edible. The reuben burger I am told was disgusting. I'm not going through the whole list but that's the summary. Don't eat here. The food court at Wisp is also pretty bad but the pizza is actually decent so save yourself some money and get a slice of that, otherwise go outside of the resort to eat. read more

We had a wonderful evening at the bar at DC's! Delicious pretzel and crab dip, meatball sub, and burger with avocado! The draft beers are sort of limited (though, for a ski resort,, it is a good selection!) but the bottle selection more than made up for it. And the conversation with bartenders was so much fun. They made us feel so welcome and we had a great night two nights in a row at the restaurant and at the bar. Don't know what it is like when things are super crowded, but we had a great time when things were quiet right before Christmas 2011! PS---We love Biff the bartender!!!!!!!!!! read more
