Perkins Restaurant also serve a variety of entrees besides breakfast. We came for dinner so ordered non-breakfast entrees. There's salads, burgers and other hot entrees. I had a fried chicken biscuit with gravy and turkey sausage, which I was not too hot about, the "fried chicken" was chicken tenders. Sausage was ok, biscuits not bad. I'm not a gravy person but the white gravy did add some Goodness to it Had breakfast with 8 people in total and came in around 1030/11am on a Monday. Not too many other patrons around. This is the one of the few places I've eaten where the food on the plate looks as good as or better than the photos on the menu. Everything was tasty, including the fresh-brewed coffee! The blueberry muffin was particularly heavenly. It arrived hot and fresh. The sugar on top had melted slightly into a sticky and crunchy crust, and the blueberries inside were juicy. A very solid breakfast! There were signs on the door saying they are looking for help but we didn't notice our server was awesome and helpful and very prompt! I landed on the pick 3. I did Turkey sausage pancakes and fresh fruit. The grapes had seen better days but they didn't stop my daughter from eating most of them. The pancakes were cooked perfectly I actually really do like pancakes but I don't get to eat them all that often. I really enjoyed my pancakes today. The eggs could've been cooked a little less hard however I'm sure if I had asked they would've tried to make them the way that I would've liked them. Wow! I've never been to a Perkins but so glad I did! There's only this one location in Maryland! Our server (I think her name was Gina, team trainer) was perfect from start to finish: friendly, energetic, passionate about serving, happy to help with menu questions, and overall had an awesome disposition. There are so many menu items, you will not be able to decide whether you want breakfasty items or lunch/dinner items. We opted for breakfast! Our food was incredible! I ordered blueberry pancakes, and they were made just right---that perfect crispy edge, that yummy fluffy center, fresh pieces of blueberry (I could put money down betting that they use fresh blueberries), and incredible texture. And served hot with a square of butter skating across the surface, melting from the warmth of the pancakes. The hash browns on the side were perfectly cooked, with a crispy flat waffle-y exterior and deliciously fresh and hot potatoey interior. The eggs were fresh, made just as I requested, and tasted delicious. They're just eggs, but they must have been from some specially raised chickens! I was literally shoving forkfuls of food into my mouth without even finishing the previous bite! In all seriousness, our first-time experience left us very impressed (service, ambiance, prices, and food quality). We hope to come back at least once whenever we visit the area. First of all there are no healthy options available. Once upon a time Perkins offered an egg white skillet with egg white, spinach, mushrooms, onions and feta. (It is no longer offered). So I went with the build your own omelette with those ingredients, no feta was available so I went with Swiss. Nothing special, right? An omelette was 16.79 and up-charged 1.55 for each item. I remember when Perkins was just about everywhere and now they aren't around as much. But I tell you what I ran into this one for breakfast and it was fabulous. I decided on the French toast with scrambled eggs and fries. I know I'm a fries guy no matter what time of the day it is. We stopped by their bakery on a whim after buying groceries, it was the best accidental find ever!! HUGE thank you to Paul for mentioning the deal on muffins.. and a huge thank you to whoever made them!! We tore up two of them immediately after leaving the restaurant -- and they're just perfect. My favorite so far is the apple muffin but I'm eyeing the banana nut muffin. It looks so good. The other pastries looked amazing too. I plan on having a raspberry drop next time. The service couldn't have been better, our waitress was wonderful and she made a breakfast suggestion that was perfect for what we wanted. The fresh coffee was hot and delicious and when our breakfast arrived, which was quickly, it turned out to be cooked just right. Very poorly run establishment with a side of homophobia! Me and my partner came here for breakfast one morning. It was super busy but we didn't mind waiting. We waited about 15 minutes before the little church looking lady who's apparently the manager finally asked us how many were in our party. She gave us such an attitude just for asking if she knew how long it was gone be? She gave us the meanest look and then a fake smile and said "no". I absolutely love this place and must eat there every time I visit Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. It's a diner type place in the best sense of the word. I almost always order from the "Age 55+" menu and am stuck on the basted eggs Benedict with hash browns and mixed fresh fruit for only $7.95. The eggs are perfectly poached with a lighter than usual hollandaise sauce. They enable my morning coffee "addiction" by leaving a whole carafe of good coffee on my table. The service is great-professional and friendly. A shoutout to Tammy my server. They're known for their baked goods and their mixed berry pie a la mode is excellent and has no added sugar. We have been patronizing the restaurant for years. Unfortunately, the wait time at about 35 minutes, quotes 15-20, follow by a food server stepping on the back of my mother-laws shoe. This resulting in a full tray of food hurling toward her and the four guest who ordered it. The food server briefly apologized to the section of people. There was no checking on the guests by the general manager. She was aware of the incident being that she was in the section when it happened. The food server for our table was not very good. The six of us, including three children waited 40 minutes, so we were disappointed. The food was not as good as in previous visits, by Perkins standards, average at best. We almost walked out due to waiting for our food with no updates from the server or manager stopping by the table for such delayed service. My family and I felt that the server was close to rude and never apologized for the extremely long wait for the seating and the food being delivered. Her apparent frustration of the accident was translated to poor service. I paid the bill at the register. When asked how was the meal, "I replied very disappointing." No attempt to rectify the concern was made, so I found the general manager. She did not respond, thus, I told her that the review would reflect our terrible customer experience. Too bad, a descent restaurant chain can not employ good management. This is a bad reflection on Deep Creek Lake as a vacation destination. read more

At some point as a manager you have to take responsibility for the actions of the rest of your stuff you can't live life blaming all the problems that you should be met rectifying as a manager. We were greeted and told the way it was going to be an hour no problem you're the only breakfast place in town we can handle waiting an hour we're on vacation but Now it's an hour and a half and we're still waiting that's a problem. We finally sit down our drinks don't come for 20 minutes luckily we ordered as soon as we sat down so we were hoping that the food would be following soon definitely not the case. We're now in here for two hours and 15 minutes we just got our food. Great Customer Service and AMAZING FOOD!!! This Resturant is not like most chains it feels like it's own stand alone spot. The menu is jammed back with great meals and hearty portion sizes. I had the three egg omelette which was quite tasty even though they use egg beaters. I saved half for the next morning which is normal for me (I do it all the time with IHOP). I was so disappointed the next morning as I didn't trust eating it. It had either changed colors or had dissolved so much that you could see the spinach. I as stated I save my omelettes all the time not only from IHOP but any where and this is the first time this has happened. So eat everything the first day no saving.
