I was quite hungry and desperately needed some food. Archie's was a beacon on the road. I was grateful, they were open past 8pm. I went through the drive thru and enjoyed a much needed meal. They have an extensive menu of BBQ but I settled for a hot dog. It was perfect for what I needed. The service was very friendly and efficient. Really sad to have to give such a bad review. My family has been coming to Deep Creek for many years. Archie's is always a dinner that we look very forward to. I know ownership changed a while back, but it was still great last year. Tonight, sadly I think we had our last Archie's. Lots of different info abt hours they were open. Called to make an online order. Nobody to take the call, so you are diverted to online ordering. We tried to do online order the night before and found it would be a 2 hr wait, so we decided on something else. On our way to the park, my daughter in law pulled in to Archie's drive thru to be sure they'd be open later. The girl assured her that they would be open later ( no mention abt the leftover thing and that they could possibly run out) Upon leaving the park, tried a phone order and again was told to make online order. We found that online ordering closed 2 hrs before the restaurant did. Went to order our carryout in person. We found out that, while not advertised anywhere, Monday was their leftover night. They serve leftovers until they run out because they are closed T/W. I started by ordering a rack and a 1/2 of ribs, only to find out 1/2 rack of ribs was all that was left. No cornbread sliders bc limited amt of cornbread left and that was saved for platters. We ordered 4 platters. They changed that to no cornbread at all. No mac & cheese. Brisket was thin & absolutely flavorless. Potato salad was really bad. Strange taste. Ordered cole slaw, and got home to find it missing from our order., Our pulled pork and baked beans were good. So I guess that's what will earn Archie's the 1 star. I know there are a couple of other bbq spots in the area, next year we'll try one of those. read more

It was not good, they were confused and i get it, a group of 10 people can be hard, BUT BLAMING US? Thats not okay. Tried this place about 7 years ago. Terrible dry ribs. Nothing was remotely good. Par for the course in this tourist town. No Restaurants here try to be good because there's no competition and plenty of tourists. Heard they got bought and figured maybe it's better. Nope. Brisket had no smoke, no flavor. Tasted like roast beef. Looks like it too. Ribs had no smoke. Sauce not cooked in. Wings were okay. It's Sad that as a backyard griller i can easily outcook this place. Very sad. This place was very busy, with plenty of parking and welcoming vibes. I placed a to-go order on the 25th, the staff were kind and personable. Food was decent as well, I ordered a side of pulled chicken and macaroni and cheese with cornbread. Macaroni and cheese and cornbread were my favorite and something I will order again when I am in town. This was my first time trying it so hopefully next time I will order a variety of the meat. Absolutely loved our visit to Archie's BBQ! The place was spotless, and every staff member--from the servers to the food takers--was genuinely kind and welcoming. Their brisket - if you told me they were running over to Arby's and buying roast beef sandwiches and taking the meat out and putting on their brisket plates-- I wouldn't be shocked. I couldn't tell the difference. Get their chopped/wet brisket and you have no ides what is on your plate- it's gross I truly believe these people are scammers. The prey on tourist who come in with no idea how awful this is and they never come back- so what..,, they get your $20 per plate My group of 6 paid almost $200 for food that we left on the table or took back to our teenage wolfs to eat-- those boys ate it because we didn't call it brisket. This is by far the best restaurant that we tried while we were visiting Deep Creek. We had ARCHIE'S PIGGY PLATE. We picked BRISKET and PULLED CHICKEN as meat and cornbread. My kids had hot dogs. I loved the sauce and loved cornbread even though I am not a huge fan of cornbread. Also, the meat was so soft and tender. I highly recommend this place. read more

We had a positive experience here as a party of 9. We had our choice of indoor or outdoor bench seating. There are no chairs with backs. We got a variety of food and everyone loved it. While the prices are steep, you will NOT leave hungry no matter what you order. Ghost pepper bbq pulled chicken Pittsburgh sandwich was awesome! The fries were excellent. Hot and crispy on the outside. The Mac and cheese didn't taste very Smokey. The service was better than I expected going in. They have a non-traditional ordering process where you order at a counter and take a number to your seat of choice. A waitress will then bring your food to you. Had to send it back and the cook was very hesitant and had an attitude and they just threw it on a flat top to warm it up. I wasn't able to take any photos as I didn't have my phone with me. The service was good, we were one of about three people in the restaurant at the time. It was that word time between lunch and dinner on a Saturday afternoon. The food was ready in about 2-3 minutes. I ordered a 1/2 of ribs, chopped brisket, smoke Mac and cheese, and the bbq beans. The bbq was VERY disappointing at best. The ribs were obviously reheated and lukewarm in the middle with little to no flavor and very fatty and drenched in sauce. Really not what I was expecting from Award-Winning Ribs. The chopped brisket was very bland with no flavor and again drowned in sauce. The sides were pretty good as the smoked Mac and cheese wasn't dry, however, it wasn't smoked either. The bbq baked beans were really good and the only thing I really ate. I was very disappointed and when asked by the staff I was respectfully honest about it. The inside is spacious and very unique with its decoration. I'm not sure how to rate this one. The food was good and quick. We ordered and had our food to the table in minutes. Like a lot of BBQ joints you have to order everything separately. Which always seems to make the cost high; but this one was really expensive. We ordered 12 wings, 1 hot dog, a sandwich, 3 sides and 4 drinks ... around $80 (including tip). read more

Menus are on the side, or they will offer one to you when you drive by their window. We got an order of their smoked Mac and cheese, cornbread, pulled pork sandwich, beef brisket sandwich, and a rack of ribs to-go. The sandwiches were fresh, and they don't skimp out on giving you a lot meat! Their sauces on the side were delicious. Had Archie's during my weekend stay at Deep Creek. My fatass got the Archie's Sampler, half rack ribs, and Archie dog. The ribs by far was my favorite. Very tender, great bite, highly recommend. Brisket was thinly sliced, which confused me, but was not mad about it. The Archie dog didn't really stick out to me, as it was just a basic hotdog with pulled pork stacked on top of it, which leads me to my next point; pulled pork. This was the worst pulled pork I ever had. It was extremely sweet. Others may like it this sweet, but it's not it for me. After 2 or 3 bites, I couldn't have any more. I scraped it all off my Archie dog and ate it as a normal hotdog. I would come back for the ribs, maybe the brisket. Pass on the pull pork. read more

Loved the food here! Beef brisket was sliced very thinly and evenly, and was delicious with their BBQ sauce, which was sweet and not too peppery. The baby back ribs were "fall of the bone" soft -- it was moist and very meaty. The chicken wings had nicely smoked flavor and pieces were medium in size. I would definitely eat here again!
