This place has good pizza. I believe it's the only local pizza place. Please be patient if they get busy.

Don't let the outside fool you... this is actually a great pizza spot! Since COVID, there's no indoor seating, but you're able to either call in your order or order at the pick-up window. Their website does not work but we called and they were open so we stopped by. It is take out only and cash only and they don't have a menu you can look at. Not one menu! It was only $16 for a large half pepperoni and half sausage, but the toppings were sparse. We would look for something else next time we are in the area. read more

I called and ordered a pizza and a gyro to be delivered. They took my address and phone number and said there were a few deliveries ahead of me. I said no problem and hung up. I waited 1 1/2 hours and no show or call. I called the place to find out what was going on. They said there driver couldn't find the home. So he came back. They said they tried to call a few times but had no luck. I asked what number they called and they wrote the number down wrong. I asked how the driver couldn't find the home considering he would had only have to make one right turn off Main Street onto Springs road and go straight. They didn't even want to discuss it. They said if I come get it they would give it at half price. I asked how good it could be after 1 1/2 hours of sitting around. They owner said "look, I'm busy if you want it for half price come get it, if not don't" and hung up. I have to say as a previous business owner, you don't ever treat your customers this way if you want to keep customers. The entire (I don't give a shit) attitude was ridiculous considering everything wrong was their fault. The very least they could have done was offer to make fresh and some type of discount on that or offer the order for free. I am certain that their delivery driver has to be a complete idiot not to be able to find my home. I am totally disgusted with this experience and hope they suffer for the way they treat their customers. I will love to be able to give negative stars for this, but I can't. read more

Talk about a diamond in the rough.... This is quite possibly the best pizza you will ever taste. Maybe it's the water used in the hand-tossed crust or the quality Italian ingredients the proprietor has delivered from Pittsburgh (nearest outpost of civilization), but the taste of this pizza is off the charts yummy! The crust is just right, not too hard or soft with sauce that you can actually taste and always generous toppings and cheese. The delicious bread sticks are not to be missed ... If you're driving through the Western Hinterlands of Maryland on I-68, do yourself a favor and have some Hey Pizza. It's legendary! My family enjoys Hey pizza as takeout and eating it down the street at the scenic Casselman River Bridge State Park. FYI: Cash only (ATM across street) and they're closed Sundays :-( read more

I am giving this place 4 stars because for some reason I love this place. I can't give it five because there are not a lot of healthy options and you can't use a credit card here. The pizza is great and not a bad price. The pizza has a great crust that can be rolled nicely or just eaten in the normal style. They do a great job of putting the right amount of sauce and cheese on each pizza. This place has the best pizza in this town and i would choose this over Dominoes, Papa Johns, Pizza Hut any day of the week. We were visiting Deep Creek, MD for the weekend and right before our trip I just happened to read an article about the best Mom and Pop shops in Maryland and Hey Pizza was on the list and on the way so we decided to stop. Best decision we ever made. This pizza is hands down the best I have ever ate. It was simply awesome. We bought two pizza's and ended up eating it all weekend. It's just as good reheated as it was that first bite. If you are passing by I highly recommend stopping here it's right off the exit on Route 68 and worth the detour. read more

I haven't had the pizza, but I did have a gyro. It wasn't the best I ever had, wasn't the worst. Actually pretty satisfying in a greek food/gyro deprived community. Since listing the former Grantsville School I have been spending a good bit of time in Grantsville. It has allowed me to check out Hey Pizza. It's a pizza place, probably not a destination for impressing clients or first dates. If jeans, a t-shirt and pie are your fancy, then it is definitely worth a stop. The counter is usually staffed by kids. Thankfully every time we stopped they had left the teen attitude elsewhere. The building itself is sparse, rustic, warm and comfortable. The smell of fresh baked pizza made my stomach grumble in anticipation. Pizza as a whole is definitely a food of personal preference. These are not of the gourmet variety but the toppings are adequate, cheese stringy and sauce tasty. Personally I enjoy the medium thickness crispy/chewy crust. I admit I did not order anything but pizza. It is called Hey Pizza after all. My years of restaurant experience has taught me to stick with what seems right (No truck stop crab cakes for this guy). If you are in the Northern part of the county and needing a quick bite I would give Hey Pizza a thumbs up. I have lived near this place for two years before finally stopping in and it is awesome. The pizza is reasonable well made with handmade not frozen dough. They don't have a menu so you really just ask for what toppings you want. Hey Pizza had the standards, don't ask for Feta or spinach but the standards are all there. We loved this pizza. FYI don't order the gyro. These guys are not Greek and it's not a real gyro up to city standards but they have a lot of subs on the sign inside if you prefer something other than pizza. The turn around on the pizza was fast. This is a mom and pop place that employed about three people ( includes the owners) so expect to wait about 25 to 30 minutes and it was right at dinner time so they were slammed. I was impressed how the woman holding down the fort while the guy was making a big delivery managed everything. Drinks are Pepsi products in cans for $.77 water is a dollar, they have cups drinks are very cold from a big cooler. I read someone gave it a bad review because it was filthy they are nuts. It's old the booths have tape on the Naugahyde seating and it ads to the charm. Be prepared with cash- there is a bank across the street where you have to park anyway. read more

Great traditional pizza but call ahead because it takes a while. The homemade dough makes a delicious, soft and chewy crust, there was lots of cheese, the right amount of red sauce and the toppings were good-- all came together nicely. The meatball sub was tasty. The old bank building that houses the restaurant is charming with an old radiator and exposed brick. Overall, a good dining experience that the whole family, including kids, enjoyed. read more

C and I were passing through town and stopped here for lunch. I ordered an Italian sub sandwich to go. It was really tasty. My family's been ordering from Hey's for at least 10-15 years on almost a weekly basis. The owners are amazing people and the food is A-MAZ-ING! Fresh (not frozen) dough, amazing quality! In all my years of eating Hey's, I cannot remember one time getting a truly bad pizza! When I was in college in OH, I actually asked my parents to bring me a pizza from Hey's when they came to visit me it is that good! No complaints, great food, great people!
