Ask for an itemized receipt before you leave because they didn't give one automatically. They charged my order an extra %20 because it was $5 over $200 which made my $15 tip a $55 tip which is 25%+ tip on a TO-GO order which is insane. I've never heard of a restaurant that charges you MORE for ordering more food. Most places I visit give a discount for larger orders. Pizza was mediocre, cafeteria quality. The pies were good though. My mushroom pizza was delicious. I absolutely love the crust. It was nice and fluffy and soft. I really love the tomato sauce on my pizza and just the right amount of cheese . Stopped here after a disaster in Ohiopyle and on the way home. We called ahead so the food was ready and upon entry it was fresh out of the oven. Small place, I can see where they probably do mainly delivery or takeout business, some mismatched chairs in the dining area that only had about 4 tables. We ordered a chicken bacon ranch and a regular pepperoni pizza, both on the smaller side with the pepperoni a personal size. One tip is the personal size was all crust on ours, so if you're between the personal 10" or the next size 14", go with the bigger size bc it has less crust and more pizza. The pepperoni was good - large slice pepperoni on top and a good char to the pizza. I liked it - the sauce was very margherita - a light chunky sauce. The chicken bacon ranch was your standard pizza you'd get at a lot of places - had a good amount of toppings on it and was properly dressed. The main issue was the dining room was about 80°, and there wasn't much by way of drinks. I would say this is more like a 3/5 if you're dining in, so do takeout and let the pizza do the talking. read more

I have always wanted to stop here on Route 40, on way from DC to Columbus, in the beautiful Laurel Highlands. Looked inviting and I thought they might have good pies and this was confirmed. They are made by their other family operation Ohiopyle Bakery. Unique interesting place with friendly service. She made a great recommendation: Caramel Apple pie. One of the best ever. All their pies are appealing with artistic crusts. My pie crust was perfect in texture and had wonderful flavor. Apples not overcooked, the right size slices, and caramel flavor great without being too sweet. Need to go back to DC soon so I can get another and also try their pizza pie. I am obsessed with their banana & coconut crème pies! They also usually have fruit pies & Oreo crème too. While working during the summer, we were super grateful for their pizza delivery service. They're the only pizza delivery service on this mountain now. We used to only have Pizza Hut growing up here... but I am much more appreciative for the non-chain/family owned taste & vibe! Average pizza, thin airy crust with little flavor, very little sauce, cheese tastes like the pre-shredded stuff from a grocery store. I got extra cheese and glad because it was so light that the regular pizza must not have much at all. But there isn't much competition around there so take what you can get. read more

I'm really surprised by the 5 star ratings. They've seriously raised their prices and to be perfectly honest, we don't find the food all that great. Prices went up, overall meal size went down. We get a better pizza for less from the gas station across the street. That should embarrass Mountain Pies. One other thing... you get a sub sandwich or hoagie and there is only one choice for your bread... wheat! Seriously! They make you eat wheat. I don't know if it's their idea to force their particular healthy diet ideas upon the masses but there are those of us that can't eat wheat bread or rye due to health issues. Stopped in for the first time this weekend and so glad we did!! Just got a 14" plain pie and it was awesome! It's crust is thin in the center, bubbly around the edges, delicious sauce and cheese. To our surprise, they also had an excellent selection of desserts and we got a half of an Oreo cream pie that was soooo good. Excellent service, good prices on both items. Average pizza. Crust was pretty good. Pineapple and bacon pizza had no flavor. Supreme pizza had more flavor but not great. Salad was hilarious! I opened the container to see a pile of shredded cheese. I turned the container to find a pile of chopped lettuce. Nothing else. Packaged dressing was Marzetti so that was good enough but I didn't bother with the salad. I had enough cheese on the pizza. Surprised anyone would give this 5 stars. This is by far the best little gem around Nemacolin. Every year we come to the resort and this is the one place we truly look forward to going to each time. The pizza is delicious and the Super Nintendo console in the back room is the best little surprise while waiting for your pie. Make sure to also try the homemade pies. The food was delicious, the price was very reasonable and the people were as nice as they could be! I arrived with my parents and my partner, my mother in a wheelchair. Heidi met us at the door and assisted me getting my mother and her wheelchair in the door. Since we hadn't been there before, we ordered a somewhat standard pizza (pepperoni, mushroom and extra cheese) and moved to a table in the back. Heidi came to check on us a couple times while the pizza was in the oven to make sure we had what we needed for when the pizza arrived. She must have overheard me ask my mother whether she was OK having a birthday pie instead of a birthday cake. Shortly after I said that, Heidi arrived at our table with a brownie on the house as a birthday gift to my mother. The pizza arrived shortly after that and it was perfect! The crust was just the perfect combination of chewy and crunchy, the sauce was tangy and one large pie was the perfect amount of food for the four of us. Since we were full, we took the brownie with us and shared it later that afternoon. It too was delicious!
