    Gyro platter
    Terri M.

I ordered from here today and it will for sure be the last time. First off when my husband called and ordered our food the guy was a little cocky. We had a big order, we spent about 60+ dollars. It was like the guy was rude and it seemed like he didn't care to take our order. So after all this my food comes my husband hands me the food and I give him the money and we gave the driver a 6 dollar tip. After the driver left we realized that we didn't get our pizza. So my husband calls the driver and tells him. He said that he forgot it and that he would go get it and bring it back. So we start going through our food my husband got a gyro Wedge and I got a gyro platter..witch is a sandwich in fries.... My sandwich was 7 and some change, his gyro wedge was 12.99, he got less stuff on his Wedge than my sandwich. His Wedge is all watery he got less meat than me but paid twice as much just because they call it a wedge.. Oh yeah and the wedge and the sandwich pretty much had the same exact thing on it.. only his just got a extra halfa tomato slice So than we realized that we didn't get our cheese cake, so my husband calls and talked to someone not sure if it was a manager or not but he let them no we didn't get our pizza and cheese cake. She said that we didn't order a cheesecake so the guy didn't put it on our order. When I asked the guy about the cheesecake he said a whole or half. So I think the cheesecake is one of the. Little cakes so I will just get half. Now back to the person my husband is on the phone with, em she said that we can order the cheesecake so we told her we want half. So eventually the driver comes (we still didn't touch our food at this point), with the pizza and cheesecake. The pizza is a mess it is over cooked and there is barely any cheese and I got just a cheese pizza.. the square pizza u buy in grocery stores are better.. Also the half of little cheesecake I thought I was going to get was one little slice. In paid 5dollars for it...I actually only ordered their cuz my husband wanted wedding soup.. in it literally taste like water...my kids love pizza.. they'll Destroy a 60 cut in a day Ina half, n they didn't get passed the first slice..this is BS..I should of just cancelled the order when the guy was rude cuz..I really was going to.. This place will never get our business again and we order out alot and we always have bit to order...when ordering out so they lost my business..

This place was horrible. We ordered the "bacon cheese fries" and received bacon and fries, with COLD nacho cheese on the side. We asked for hot sauce and they did not send any, nor did they provide any napkins. Highly disappointed.

The Pizza Fries. These fried dough "egg rolls" contain pepperoni and cheese and are served with a most excellent red dipping sauce. They used to be called Pizza Fryes which was a take on the Historical Dude Founder's name. The Wedding Soup was also a favorite. It was loaded with meatballs and all the other goodness wedding soup has. I had a bowl because I knew it would be good. The pizza wasn't my favorite, but I was already kinda full from the other stuff too, so it didn't get a fair chance. I was kinda bummed they didn't use pasta as a straw. So much fun drinking that way. Love the extra carbs, but I can understand why they went with regular straws. They still serve soda pop in mason jars though. Be Excellent to Each Other! And enjoy your trip to The Italian Oven.

Entrees come with salad and fresh bread. I ordered the Stromboli Deluxe and my wife ordered the Chicken Marsala. Both dishes were delicious and the portions were large. This is very good Italian food and the prices are fair. The restaurant itself is a bit old, but it was clean. The restaurant's decor could really use a refresh, and the men's room needs an overhaul. This is a nice place to eat.

Our server was very nice, but the service was a lot slower than we expected. Fifteen minutes for an appetizer, another ten for salads then dinner thirty minutes later. The food we ordered was very different from what we received. I ordered a pasta with artichoke, mushroom and lemon sauce. It came with no mushrooms, but chopped zucchini, which was overcooked. I was incredibly disappointed. My fiance ordered veal marsala. His dish was extremely overcooked and flavorless. We were very confused because the veal was very tough and tasted like a pork chop..He took a bite or two and couldn't finish the dish. We weren't offered refills on our wine or dessert. We were very disappointed that the dinner was very expensive and the food we could of easily made at home. When it came time for us to cash out, our server was nowhere to be found. Since we hired a sitter, we had to go to the hostess podium to pay so as not to be waiting any longer to leave. It was an awful experience.

It seemed like an average restaurant. I did greatly appreciate them taking notice of my seating preference. I noted when booking that it was for a birthday and when I called in advance they said they give a complimentary dessert with such. Unfortunately, this was missed and nothing was given after dinner. Service was average. The food options weren't vast and were extremely pricey. So I was hoping for amazing food. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The complimentary bread and sauce was average. The chicken parm was not. Olive Gardens tastes better. I really hope this resort can spruce up the food options. Food is very important when visiting any place and can make or a break a facility. Especially by adding more ethnically diverse places with flavor to eat. Even if the ambience/environment isn't as nice, I love visiting hole in the wall places with extraordinary food. The duck ragu could have used a bit more seasoning though. But, between the vibe of the patio, the wonderful service, and the thoughtful presentation of everything, it really was a wonderful dinner.

Both entrees were served with a side of spaghetti and tomato-based sauce, house salad, and garlic toast. Note that the house salad was excellent, consisting of fresh greens, onions, cheese, olives, tomatoes, pepperoni, and roasted red peppers. We chose the balsamic vinaigrette as our dressing. (Side salads in the Fairmont/Clarksburg area are often only iceberg lettuce and a shaving or two of carrots). Our initial thought was that the prices were a bit on the higher side. However, in seeing the high quality of the food, the generous portions, and the "extras" that were included (salad, garlic toast, etc.), we feel that it was a good value.
