Chicken parmesian
Janice T.

What a great find!! My husband and I decided to go ona random road trip. We decided that whatever place we chanced upon to eat we will stop at. At first we were getting worried because for each town we passed through, there were no place to eat and we choose not to fast food food chains. Kept driving and then found the cute town of Keyser. We actually passed this restaurant but because the outside look of the restaurant kinda drew our attention, so we u-turned and went in. So first things first, you have to order & pay first before sitting in, there is a counter as soon as you enter. The place is a bit small, they had about 10 tables, four chairs a piece. Looking at the menu, I must say they are pretty cheap for italian. We are used to a little more pricier in our area so we were a little worried the portions were going to be small, but I was so hungry I didn't care. My husband got the Chicken Parmesian $13.50 and I got the Baked Ziti with Meat $11.50. Each plate is served with a salad and bread. Salad came out first, it was a big salad. Ask for the house salad dressing, it is like a vinaigrette with spices, really good. Then they brought the bread and butter, one full roll for each of us, was really warm. Really soft and oh so good. Then came out the plates meals. Omgeeeee...... I thought they gave us too much but no! That is how they serve their meals. My husband's plate looked like there was a pound of spaghetti and tons of mozzarella all over the plate. As he swirled the noodles, he saw that there was layer after later of cheese and sauce. Plus 3 chicken parmesan cutlets. Most places dont give that much. And mine.....let me tell you... my meal was so heavy I was rolling laughing. Each scoop of pasta was coated with mozzarella cheese and meat with sauce. Everything was delicious!!! But we couldn't finish our plates, so we took it home. We also had to try their Limoncello with Mascarpone filling cake. It was super soft, full of flavor and so worth it. Must get it!! But I believe it's not an everyday dessert so it might be different on different days. So keep and eye out for the small sign of Dessert of the Day. So keep in mind, huge portions!! One order can feed 2 or 3. This place is a gem and I'm so glad we chanced it. A must go to, you won't regret it!!

Ravioli and broccoli- cedar soup!

This place is awesome - great food and very affordable! We ordered ravioli, broccoli cedar soup, and 2 beers. All that for $21! The ravioli dish was amazing and it came with a salad as well. The soup was very tasty and made from scratch. Highly recommend!

You would think that by the images this place was awesome! Well not my experience. I ordered a plate of baked ziti, it came with a salad, and a hard roll. The baked ziti was definitely piled and piled on top of one another. Four people could eat off of it, one probably for two days. I ate one big scoop, it had a good taste but some noodles were like soggy or hard. I tried to eat some on my lunch break and it just wasn't good anymore. The roll was hard, the salad was the absolute best thing, with their Italian homemade dressing.

Amazing food. I had the chicken parmigiana and a spinach turnover. Seriously, good stuff. Portion sizes are stupid big. I've literally eaten on it three times and I still have over half left. My only gripe is that I asked for breadsticks with my meal since the menu says I could have that in place of the salad for $1 more, but they told me they didn't do that anymore. Take it off the menu, or honor the advertisement, please.

My girlfriend and I ate here for the first time over Valentines weekend this year and it was amazing! BEST mozzarella sticks I've ever had made with fresh mozzarella and they literally melted in your light, so creamy. We both got spaghetti dishes and it was enough to feed about 6 people, not exaggerating. The food was DELICIOUS and we will 100% be back!

All This & some that didn't make it home from Pick-Up for about $40. Lots of Left Overs. Soooo Good

1st. Review Ever HANDS DOWN THE BEST STROMBOLI IN THE TRI-STATE Lasagna was also Great For about $40. Huge Stromboli w/Dipping Sauce, Pan of Spaghetti (Stuffed Full), Same with Lasagna, Pan of Lg. Meatballs, 2 Salads, 4 Bread Rolls and whatever Hubby ate on the way home from pick up.

Chicken Parm is fantastic! Huge portions.

First when you plan on trying this place and you should, get here early. The parking area isn't that big, so leave your gas guzzling Suburban at home! Once you walk in, get in line to order at the cash register. They have multiple copies of the menu, so if you're waiting in line, go get one so you can decide while you're waiting to order. Once you order, have a seat in the small area in front of the cash register until your food is ready. When your food is finished, they will call your name, wipe off a table and seat you. Do not stand and wait for a table to open up and rush over to grab it like you're at the Outback Steakhouse! You may be jumping in front of people that ordered in front of you and their food will be out sooner! The meal itself is worth the wait! I hope you're hungry too. I've traveled all over and these are the largest portions i've ever seen! I've had a calzone, it's huge! Chicken parm, huge! Eggplant parm, yup, gigantic! Even the breadsticks look like baseball bats...lol Our last family dinner there a child ordered noodles with butter. Well the noodles arrived in a large bowl but they forgot the butter. We flagged a server down and they quickly rushed out some melted butter....a soup bowl full of melted butter!! lol Now, nobody eats that much butter, atleast I hope not, but again, their portions are humongeous!! They have a fountain drink machine in the dining area so you help yourself to drinks, but don't over do it, the bathrooms are tiny! This place could do a killer business in a larger place with much more seating but as I said, it's worth the wait if you haven't tried it yet! Excellent Food!

The front counter area. Stand in line and place your order.

There are few places where you can get incredible food at an incredible price! Sweetie and I had been working and chasing all day. Came here as we knew we could get generous portions. So generous in fact we decided to split a Lasagna dinner with a second salad. $15 The salads were full on dinner salads. Primarily iceburg lettuce but plenty of it. Cucumber, tomatoes, black olives, onions. Drinks are serve yourself with free refills. Bread loaf, 6 inches and warm w butter. Lasagna, good thing we split one!! 2 of us are our fill and boxed up for home, over half of the meal. The pasta was thick and cooked just right. Plenty of meat and cheese, not all red sauce. Oh and the cheese melted on top! Lovely.

Really weird decor in the ladies room

I really really like this place. First, the portions are almost laughably huge. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that they use a whole regular sized box of pasta for each plate of spaghetti. In fact, they have to layer the sauce and noodles to ensure even distribution. One plate could easily feed 3 people. The price is right too, at 10 bucks per entree. I found the meat sauce to be a little bland. In fact, everything there is just a little bland. It isn't the best Italian I've ever eaten, but it certainly isn't the worst, and for a small town like Keyser, it is golden. I think you can expect a good, solid meal there at any time- but don't count on it to be the best meal you've ever eaten. Also, the staff is very friendly. That being said, I have to drive quite far to get there, and I find it very inconvenient that there is nowhere to change my baby when we get there or before we leave. I had to go to Walmart to do that. The bathrooms are also a little weird. If you're a local it doesn't matter that much, I suppose, but I found it troublesome to have to unload my baby, eat, load her up again, drive half a mile (if that) to Walmart, unload her, change her, and load her again. I would have changed her in the backseat, but it was pouring the rain. Definitely worth a visit if you're nearby.

Boy vs food.

Long time customer of Caporella's, dating back to their days in Perryopolis…read more My wife and I dined this week at dinner time for the first time in a few years, it will probably be our last. The menu is the same, massive menu with a list of perhaps 10 different specials. Immediately a red flag, you can't have that many freshly prepared items for a dinner service and have most of it be frozen food service products or pre-made and frozen ahead of time. The bread they give, while hot and warm, is undoubtedly a food service product that isn't real bread, it can't be, and that's an easy one. My wife found a hair baked into her stuffed shrimp, and i ordered chicken Marsala and had to choose a side "pasta, fries, baked potatoes, etc", which is odd. Pair the dish with sides to make it interesting. It just felt lazy and boring, very much turning into a boomer restaurant where the deal is "big portions" and not "th highest quality and vibrant food we can make". The food was good, not great, and for the price tag I'd have expected fresh, all natural, ingredient shining food, but what we got was hot, mediocre flavor wise, and food that has low self esteem. Not to mention our salad lettuce was legitimately brown wilted, very visible from the plater/server prospective, but they sent it out anyway. This may be the reason both my wife and I's guts were wrenching all night, as it was the only common thing we ate. I wish this all weren't true, I love this building and my history with the restaurant, but never again. If you want fresh, from scratch, from fresh REAL ingredients with an amazing menu, check our Jaffre's Tuscan Table in Mt Pleasant, you will not be disappointed. Even my wife said that we need to hit up Tuscan Table to cleanse us from Caporellas. I wish them the best, but we're breaking up.

We have tried many times over the years to get to the new location, but it is so difficult. Especially when you have kids and family events, and have to plan two weeks ahead in order to get them to give a reservation. Be forewarned, make a reservation! You cannot just decide to go to dinner one night and choose Caporella's....at least we've never been able to. For our visit this time, we really liked the location. It is definitely beautiful. Our service was good, as well, while we were there. It was just the wife and I with our youngest, since she was a last minute add-on to our planned date night, and the server was great with her. Food wise, some things impressed, some did not. I do not feel the quality of what I had this time matched the stellar experiences I used to have at the old location. The price tag on few things, as well, didn't measure up. Let me explain. For appetizers: The Beans and Greens were still literally the BEST I have ever had in my life. Their version still stands for what I measure all others against. The Cheese Logs were good albeit crazy for the price, and breading was super heavy on them. For Soups: We had to try the French Onion Soup, as we always do anywhere. It was..eh. Reminded me of a beef vegetable soup with some onions thrown in. There was no depth to it like a stellar FOS would have. It reminded me of something that was just thrown together really quickly. For Dinners: I had the Chicken Parm. Chicken was good, but I really did not like the spaghetti sauce. I'm picky, and it probably is just "me". I don't like tomato-y canned tasting acidic marinara. The wife had their version of a Chicken Piccata, her usual go to, and hated it. She took it home, and I ate it for lunch the next day. It was very sour. Daughter had gnocchi, and liked it. For Desserts: A spumoni, which was great, and a Tiramisu. HATED THAT. I was under the impression it was going to be Tiramisu....not a dry as a bone tiramisu-flavored cake. Was the first time you would hear me say I was very thankful for getting such a small piece. Would NOT get again. Overall, I am not sure if I will be going out of my way to go back again for anything other than those Beans n' Greens. They really are amazing. But, for anything else, the price tag and what we received this time was not going to draw us back again vs. other options in the area, compounded with how difficult it is for us to get there with the reservation-must-have. It's good, but not THAT good.

Incredibly nice and hospitable and provided excellent service. The inside is cute and quaint and you can tell this restaurant was a dream! The inside is small but gives a more intimate feel. The food was not great. The place has amazing reviews, so maybe we stumbled on the wrong food. They don't have a kids menu but have basic pastas for kids. We got ours a spaghetti and meatballs which was a large portion. The sauce tasted can like. I had the shrimp pesto. The sauce was more liquid than a thick creamy pesto, which I normally don't mind. The gnocchi was good but the sauce was heavily seasoned and not super delicious. The shrimp was a large portion and okay. My boyfriend had the lobster risotto. The actually risotto was good but the lobster was tough and overcooked. I only saw pasta selections and not a lot of appetizers. We had the fried Brie cheese which was pretty good. I really enjoyed the bread but had to ask for olive oil. They have a house made eggplant that I didn't care for. The prices were outrageous. Our dinner cost $150 with no alcohol. Overall would not come back, which makes me sad for the business :(
