Called ahead and ordered a pepperoni and philly steak pie. Somehow when it was all said and done I ended up spending $46 and I still have no idea why. Whatever. Upon opening the box I was pleasantly surprised. I usually can tell if a pizza is going to be good or not on first glance, and this passed the initial eye test. In terms of pizza - this is a VERY HEAVY style - fresh dough style - and reminded me of a homemade added pizza item on a bakery menu. The steak pizza was the same - made with ranch as the sauce and covered heavily with steak. With taste, the pizzas were good - I didn't have a really issue with them whatsoever. Very heavy and hard to really put away a lot of Slice's as I am known to do. I can tell you that the large is very filling and switching between the two I would say the pepperoni was my favorite, and the steak was a close second. The main issue to me was the pickup process and the confusion with charging me over the top.

Then when the first item showed up the antipasto salad, it was absolutely the best presentation, the best flavor and the best dressing that I have had in over 50 different antipasto salads I've ever enjoyed Then, when the pizza came out utterly, utterly, absolutely fantastic flavor presentation, and the crust and dough was so light, but so crisp and flaky that you kept wanting to go back for more even though you ended up filling up quick because the slices on the 16 inch were amazingly well presented. Our server was prompt quick to refill drinks and was absolutely a delight to have and made the entire evening and presentation over the top. Then when the whole meal was finished and they brought out the leftover pizza with the Sperlari Candy, let's just say the evening meal was finished and we went and bought a bag of the candy that was for sale on the way out. Will definitely be back here again this place is a must stop and one of my top five Italian pizzerias now that I need to visit as it's a moral imperative!

Tonight we ordered a 16 inch firecracker pizza and a 16 inch special pancetta pizza. We called our order in order to get the discount because we did not see any way to get the discount by using their online Toast Tab ordering system. The pizzas were ready for pick up in a mere 20 minutes, even though it was pretty busy in the restaurant. Pizzas were hot and fresh, lots of toppings, and a nice chewy crust. We have plenty of leftovers.

(Jun 2026). It's a large brew pub with a cabin-like décor, out Sang Run Road just north of Deep Creek Lake. There's a little carved bear by the front door, and a kid-size huggable bear at the host stand. Photo ops! And fun for the kids! They seated us quickly and our server was quick in taking beer orders. They have plenty of soft drinks, and we got Lemonade and Apple Juice, Orange Fanta (a favorite), and a pitcher of Mountain State's own creamy MSBC Root Beer - made here! Beer-wise, there were 16 draft crafts plus a couple of old standards to choose from on a paper menu or by looking at their website or QR-code. Most were around 5% ABV. We had Pennsylvania's full-flavored grassy citrusy mildly-bitter Victory Summer Love golden ale. We raided MSBC's just-west-of-here West Virginia brewery of their creamy malty lightly-bitter Miner's Daughter oatmeal stout, and a lightly-bitter caramel Almost Heaven amber ale. New York's Hudson North brewed us some summery sweet Salted Watermelon cider. And we had some from home: Columbia MD's Black Flag Snozzberry Haze: a fruity piney hazy IPA, standing up at 7% ABV. Baltimore's Mobtown Fever Dream, a creamy flavorful somewhat fruity IPA, punching at 7.4% ABV. And Baltimore's Wico Street Yeah Brah, a strongly-bitter double IPA, clobbering us with an 8.5% ABV! A wonderful fermented tour of the northeast! Get ready to say "yum" out loud... From their wide range of bar foods and appetizers, we had fresh crisp tortilla chips with their medium-spicy cream cheese and homemade-ranch baked Buffalo Chicken Dip, elevated with blue cheese on top and an add-on side of chipotle! They made their own fresh-Spinach & Artichoke Dip with fresh basil, roasted red peppers, and an extravagant blend of cream cheese, feta, mozzarella, asiago, parmesan, and cheddar jack. The giant soft crust Pretzels & homemade Beer Cheese were notably popular with the kids. Salads? Yep. Tasty Lemon Herb Chicken Salad, crisp and crunchy Caesar salad, house salad with requested black olives, and cole slaw. And sides of orange segments and raisin-like cranberries for the little ones. And on to the main feast :-). Simple fried chicken nuggets and off-the-menu Pepperoni Pizza to be sure the younger crowd was satisfied. The Boars Nest sandwich was overnight-tender pulled pork with tangy Carolina BBQ sauce and fresh crunchy cole slaw on a lightly-toasted brioche bun. The spicier "wilder" Wild Boar sandwich had that low-and-slow pulled-pork awakened with bright jalapeños and spicy Chipotle BBQ sauce, topped with provolone on that toasted yet pillowy brioche. The fresh Caprese sandwich had firm ripe Roma tomatoes, tender baby spinach, and fresh mozzarella with requested added chicken. It was all dressed with bright basil dressing, drizzled with tangy sweet balsamic glaze, on crisp and soft toasted Italian bread. A well-made classic caprese re-invented by MSBC as a bright crunchy sandwich! Everyone liked those classic crisp pepperoni pies. From their world-class pizza recipes, we had the Supreme: pepperoni, sausage, onions, green peppers, their cheese blend, and black olives, drizzled with fragrant fresh olive oil. And the vegetarian so-tasty-you-wouldn't-guess it-was-gluten-free Yard Sale pizza: marinated artichokes, prosciutto, mozzarella, with an olive oil & garlic base, sprinkled with fresh basil and a dash of freshly-cracked black pepper. Mountain State Brewing Co. gave us a memorable spread of great beers and delicious creative foods. You know we enjoyed leftovers the next day :-) Our terrific server Claire was ever-attentive, and between you and me, made it seem effortless to host our full table of hungry adults and kids. We'll be back, especially for their wide-ranging ever-changing draft list and those amazing pizzas!

We decided to try Take Six and were not disappointed. When you walk in you you've got a huge set of two display coolers with a great selection of micro and macro brewery beers. When I asked the waitress, after we sat down, if she had a beer menu. She directed my attention to the beer coolers and said, "We have a 3-D beer menu right behind you!" I thought it was funny. There also is a full service bar that runs along one side of the room from the beer cooler to the back of the space, and the rest of the area set up with tables. The menu is pretty solid "bar and grill" fare complete with some good appetizers, wings, pizza,, sides and entrées. We started with cheese balls and fried mushrooms, and they were great. We followed it with a sausage, mushroom and onion pizza, my son got a double hamburger, and we had some sides like fries and cole slaw. Everything was really good, the beer was super cold, and the service was first rate. This is a great place to visit when you're on the GAP or visiting the area.

We figured we would order several things so we had left overs for a few days. The taco pizza...this was a very sorry excuse for a taco pizza It was sloppy with just tomatoes, some nacho cheese and lettuce. There was not any taco meat under whatever the melted cheese was. Poppers, onion rings and fries were good and crispy. Breaded mushrooms were very soggy. We just tossed them. The wedgie was ok. Dough wasn't fully cooked and the ham was a minimal amount. For the amount of money spent and the quality of the food, you would think the server , who just had to run my card because it was take out , would have been a bit nicer. Alas, do not recommend. As far as the decor , typical bar arrangement. Tables and chairs. Not a very big place. Coolers with alcohol and the place was clean.
