He called for a reservation for Saturday night and they could only squeeze us in at 5:00 because they were totally booked! After eating it, I have to say that this was possibly the BEST restaurant meal I've had in recent memory, if not ever! Creamy sauce filled with crab, bay scallops and langoustines nestled between tender lasagna noodles (I'm pretty sure they were homemade). Topped with large shrimp and sea scallops, seared to perfection and set in a gratin dish which is more than an ample serving. It is served with a generous portion of their Caesar salad. We were pleasantly sated but could not resist ordering dessert to top it all off. Their Creme Brûlée is espresso flavored and delightful. And the bourbon pecan tart was simply divine. The owners wait on you and you can tell them how much you love the food, they're always appreciative to hear our comments. The restaurant itself is lovely. Tastefully decorated. You might feel that you are in New York or some other big city upscale restaurant but you are in little old downtown Latrobe! My favorite restaurant for sure!

I like to think myself as a conisour as far as onion soup and this ranks top 5 easily. I ordered an entree of the pistachio crusted lamb kabobs for myself and steak frites for my wife. Both were delicious and perfect! Nancy and Chef Adam were so friendly and helpful. They both made sure everything was perfect! We finished with the Banana Split which is a bananas foster stuffed crepe served with homemade ice creams. We suggest skipping lunch so you have room to share this!! Also it's BYOB if you're inclined to have a glass of wine with your meal!

I'm not big on fried foods that often so I ordered the Captains Platter broiled. It was $41.49 and came with a crab cake, three shrimp, three scallops, a piece of unidentifiable fish and some steamed broccoli. It was absolutely not worth the price paid. The fish was practically inedible, awful flavor and texture. The shrimp were standard and the scallops were small. The crab cake really didn't have much crab in it. I wouldn't get it again. My second mistake was ordering steamed clams for $14.99...I doubt it was even half a pound. They tasted boiled. The bread that came with it was the best part of the meal and sopped up the juices pretty well. You get better clams from a Chinese buffet on a weekend where you get a meal for the same price as the clams. The salad I got with the platter was also pretty good, very standard. Hard to mess up a salad. The place is very tiny inside and not great for groups. We waited a couple hours to seat six people. It's decorated like an old Hooters and has that kind of feel. Service was 3 stars. It's super loud and noisy inside and she was trying to take our orders from across the table at the other end and I couldn't hear a word she said and she seemed offended when I asked her to come closer. Either talk louder or move closer, not sure what the problem is with that. Would not return again.

I thought this Christmas pop up bar was really cute! I honestly wasn't sure what to expect,…read moreespecially because we were going to Greenfield for it. I ran the Greenfield Glide 5k when I was younger, and that was pretty much all I knew about Greenfield. We drove down the street that was lined with lit up Christmas trees and saw Hough's Bar on the corner. The pop up was located right next door. We found a parking spot easily and headed in. The space was exactly what the photos and videos looked like. It was super cute and they had lots of fun backdrops for photo opps. The workers were dressed up like elves, and the girl running it was so cheery and excited. She checked our tickets and IDs, and gave us a glass of mulled wine. It was piping hot and very strong. I watched her pour it into the crockpot so you could tell it was fresh. I never drink mulled wine so it was a nice festive treat. We took photos in front of the trees, gifts, on the couches, etc. They had holiday music playing, but I wish it would've been louder. It was a quiet atmosphere and people found tables to stand by and chat. I expected this bar to be jam packed, but there were very few people there since it was timed. They had printouts of emojis that were Christmas movie riddles on the center table. If you answered all of them you could take your sheet to the bar for a prize. Their cocktail menu was fun and holiday themed, of course. They also had dessert shots and non alcoholic hot chocolate. We stayed for about an hour and enjoyed our time there. I would definitely go back if they do it again next year!

Upon arrival, you're given 1/2 small plastic cup of mulled wine that tasted almost medicinal from the cheap booze. Decor looked nothing like the advertising images! There were maybe 4 places to sit and the people who arrived early claimed them and never moved. Cool. Now, as for the bar part... Limited menu, but that was fine because drinks looked interesting. We ordered 3 cocktails ($15 each) and one person ordered a beer (only 2 to choose from), which he was informed they were out of and didn't know when it would be replaced...This was at 3pm on a Saturday. Oof. Cocktails were served in those teeny tiny plastic coupe glasses--the kind you could get at Fineberg's in the strip. They hold mayyybe 4 oz? They tasted fine, but for $15, I expect more than 4 oz. There were silly games on the table, like writing down the "naughtiest" thing you'd done that year. You can choose to participate or not. Fine. But then, one woman dressed as an elf gets on a microphone and announces we're about to do karaoke--whether we want to or not. She says she will shove the mic in your face and you have to sing. Ummm, I did not pay for tickets to get in and overpriced elf-sized cocktails to be forced to do karaoke at 3pm. Ugh. We left after 15 mins total. Do not recommend. Avoid this gimmicky place that's just taking your cash. Many better Christmas bars out there!

My friends and I came here because BBQ is most definitely the way to go after a long day of hiking…read more I'm surprised there's no other reviews of Wandering Joe's on Yelp despite it opening almost a year ago in July 2021. However, Google reviews were positive, so we were pretty excited. It's right next to a meadery called "Saga Meadery & Winery". Definitely a good choice buying both BBQ and some mead to go with it (which is what one of my friends did and thoroughly enjoyed it). Wandering Joe's is a mom-and-pop shop, and both owners were kind and helpful when we ordered. Here were my thoughts: LEMONADE - 2 Lots of ice, but it comes in a 16 oz. cup. The lemonade was perfectly refreshing and I downed all of that within five minutes or so. It went well with our food and it was just what I needed after a long hike. It was also not too sweet and more on the citrusy/fruity side. Even as I'm writing this review six hours later, I'm still thinking about that lemonade. SMOKED MEAT PLATTER - 15 This comes with 1/2 a pound of meat, 2 sides along with pickles, onions, sauce, and 2 slices of white bread on the side. The pricing is good and comes with a good amount of food. My friends and I all got some variation of the platter. One of my friends and I got the chopped beef for my meat option, but we thought the seasoning and sauce on it was way too salty. Even eating this with the bread didn't help. The rib tips that our other friends got was not too salty and good BBQ flavor. But the texture was inconsistent - some pieces were super tender and delicious, but others were incredibly dry and hard to chew. Overall, we weren't quite impressed with the meat. As for the sides, I thought the smoked pintos were very tasty and the texture of the beans were just right. I also liked the parmesan crumbles mixed in. The grits were also fantastic! It had a few pieces of pork on top along with more parmesan. I'd highly recommend it. I tried the other two options that my friends got. I liked that the slaw was very crunchy and sweet (from the apple pieces). The esquites were cold but I liked them like that. My one friend who got them did not enjoy it as much, so I guess it's a preference thing. I'd recommend trying any of the sides as they were satisfactory. Wandering Joe's is a Tex Mex restaurant, so they also have tacos and queso & chips here. Sadly, we didn't try either or, but have seen good reviews about it on Google. Overall, it was a 3/5 but the owners were really nice and the restaurant is still pretty new, so I'll bump the rating to a 4/5.
