Mountain Mike's Pizza has been on my list for a while, so I was glad I finally had the chance to stop in last Saturday around lunchtime when I was in the shopping center at Oracle and Wetmore. At first, I thought it was a local pizza shop, but found out later that it was a chain which is still fine. The place was pretty quiet when I arrived, but I was immediately impressed with the size of the dining room, the bar area, and the number of TVs. It seems like a great spot to come watch a game! Since I was dining solo, I ordered the pepperoni mini pizza and was pleasantly surprised when it came out with cup pepperoni. They were perfectly crispy on the edges with that chewy center, and the cheese and sauce were both solid. Definitely hit the spot. I also tried the churro bites basket and it was so good! It made for a perfect sweet treat after the pizza and was a nice bonus to the meal :) The restaurant was very clean, the staff member was friendly, and I noticed they offer a lunch buffet during the week, which I love to see. A good pizza buffet is hard to find these days, so I will likely be back to check that out. There was also a small area with games for kids, so it seems like a very family friendly spot. Plenty of parking and a convenient location make it an easy stop. Overall, a really solid experience and I will be back. read more

Stopped into the Mountain Mike's Pizza on Oracle (right by Total Wine) and was super impressed! The staff was genuinely friendly from the moment I walked in, and the place was spotless -- like, noticeably clean. I noticed they have a happy hour special I definitely want to come back and try another time. This visit, I ordered the Pikes Peak meat pizza and it did not disappoint. I even found a coupon online that knocked about $10 off, which made it even better. The pizza itself was delicious, and I've got to admit... I usually end up giving my dog the crust. But this crust? Ok... 3.9 stars for MM Pizza??? Really?? I did an order on "Too Good To Go" app. (Discounted prices on food for a mystery bag!) I did 2 orders. $5.99 ea plus tax. I picked up the order which was 2 small pizza boxes. I get home and open the boxes. Both boxes contain pepperoni slices haphazardly placed in the box! One contained 5 slices, the other 7! Fairly disappointing "value" compared to other orders I have placed on the app. So I go onto MM's website and check their pricing. $16.99 for a SMALL pepperoni pizza!! To me, that's insane!! Apparently money comes MUCH easier to many others rating this business. The taste was OK but NOTHING to warrant this price point and I definately wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

I ordered two large pizzas for delivery at around 6:15 pm. I received an estimated delivery time of 45 to 53 minutes. At approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes I called the restaurant and spoke with what turned out to be the shift manager. He told me that they my order was delayed because of the lunch rush. I asked if they could do Something for me and I was told that he couldn't but he could give me the packets of red pepper and cheese. I asked if could get some plates and he agreed. I finally got the pizza delivered for a total wait time of 1hoir 45 minutes and it came with only three plates for the two large pizzas. Poor customer service from that manager. read more

More like 3.5 stars. The restaurant is a chain as I found out. I thought it was a Tucson only place. Oh well, for chain pizza it wasn't bad. I got the Pikes Peak pizza to go and a Dragoon IPA to drink local. The staff wasn't too familiar with their beers which is fine for a new employee, but when another person came to help, I guess there isn't a button for the and they thought I ordered a beer not on the menu. We walked in at 4 and had the whole place to ourselves, but I imagine the place gets rockin' at dinner time because the pizza rocks! The pepperoni is just the way we like it: On top. Curled edges. The crust: thick and crispy on the bottom. Generous, well spiced sauce. Good choice of beers. Plenty of sports screens. The salad bar items looked fresh and tasty. The ambiance was kind of simple and minimalist (order at the counter) with hard stools. This will be our new favorite spot for a good pie. read more

Very nicely made pizza with generous toppings. High quality toppings cover the nicely spiced sauce. The crust is a little thicker than a normal hand tossed, but the dough was still light and airy; It was also docked and oiled before cooking which ensured the whole pizza had a crisp crust. The cupping pepperonis topped off this pizza with a little crunch on top as well as bottom. I got mine delivered and it was prepared quickly and sent with tamper evident safety seal on the pizza box. Walked in first thing I noticed was the temperature of the dining room, very very hot, so hot in fact I stated not feeling to well while waiting for our pizza, more on that later. We ordered the Snowy Alps, a white pizza with a garlic sauce. The nice counter lady brought our pizza and I addressed the temperature of the room. She immediately cooled it off which made it perfect temp. I ALWAYS taste a piece of sausage by its self before eating pizza as it will immediately tell you what you are about to experience. Wow! This is my first time at Mountain Mike's and I was happy to have the opportunity to order six wings and a mini 6" pizza. It was the perfect order! Pizza was really tasty - had a mini with black olives and jalapeños (you are limited to 3 toppings max on the mini). The wings were fine, would have liked them more crispy - my preference. They offer a lunch buffet for $9.99 that includes pizza and salad bar. The salad bar has 4 different green selections in addition to lots of salad fixings. The pizza and salad quality are head and shoulders above the Peter Piper buffet. At dinner they offer a great special that includes a bottle of wine and whole pizza. There are almost a dozen beers on tap as well as fountain and bottled sodas. I lived in New York City for 17 years and dined on the best pizza in the country. Rarely do I find pizza that compares to New York pizza. Mountain Mike's not only compares but beats many of the New York good pizza joints. The sauce is exceptional, the pepperoni is so flavorful and the dough is really tasty. They cook it to perfection also. Where Mountain Mike's goes ahead of many of the good New York pizza joints is the service is exceptional and they really care and are so attentive. The New York joints can be rude and they don't care because they are New York but that does not fly all the time. I've been saying we wanted to try this after seeing they were in Tucson. We ordered the McKinley with no bell peppers but with jalapeños. Came out pretty quick with lots of topping and not centerloaded at all, which is a pet peeve of mine. The sauce had a good flavor to it as did all the toppings. Decided to try mountain mikes today. We had a coupon for free cheesy bread with the purchase of a large pizza. She rang us up but forgot to take the cheesy bread cost off the total. At that point it was very obvious that we were a major inconvenience to her. She then comes and tosses the salad bar plate on the table. Getting my salad I noticed the cheese on the salad bar was moldy. The cheese on the salad bar is the same cheese they use on the pizza I'm assuming, so how would we know if they used moldy cheese on our pizza? We requested a refund and to cancel our order. Instead of being polite, or apologizing or trying to make it right, the manager argued with my husband that it was NOT mold. And that's what it looks like. Well if that's what their cheese looks like, I don't think I would ever eat there. We had a thin crust pizza and wings, seems a little pricey but the taste made it worth it. The place was clean, service prompt and polite.

We ordered a large thin crust pizza with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and black olives. The only positive about the whole experience is that it arrived in time. The pizza was burnt and sliced in to skinny little 2" wide pieces. I don't know if it was the pepperoni, sausage, or the sauce but it was so salty it was mostly inedible. The mushrooms and black olives appeared to be thrown on top late in the cooking process so weren't cooked under or in the cheese, so fell off as soon as you picked up a piece-- which was challenging since her pieces were so skinny. We had planned and looked forward to having leftover cold pizza for lunch the next day but no way! Peanut butter sandwiches it is. read more
