I want to start this review by saying that you're in for a story about a salad. I'm not upset about it, just blown away by this experience. This will give you an idea of current management/ownership. I grew up/lived in East San Jose most my life. I have frequented Mountain Mike's on Aborn for a long time. Yesterday, I placed an online order here - two pizzas and one individual Greek salad for carry out. When I arrived to get my order, nobody was out front at the counter. There was a guy making pizza boxes near the pizza oven with his back to the counter (could see him through a window in the wall separating the cooking area from counter). I called out several times and he remained laser focused on building boxes and never heard me. Finally I sort of yelled to get his attention (that was embarrassing) and it wasn't until a different cook saw me that the pizza-box guy came out. He took my payment and seemed confused about my order. After a minute he collected my Pizzas from the back and then handed me an empty salad container. I asked what that was for and he said "you can go make your salad." I told him I specifically ordered a Greek salad. I said I expected that to be ready (I paid 11.99 for $3 worth of actual food). He said he needed to talk to his manager (what in the actual... I literally chose the Greek salad off THEIR webpage and he's telling me to make it myself?). He comes back and tells me the manager said I can make my own salad. I once again mention I ordered the Greek salad and that I don't know the recipe. Pizza-box guy goes to the back and brings out the manager. I tell the manager I ordered a Greek salad. He asks me if I paid (yes, that's what's super important at this moment - not the fact they can't deliver my order correctly). I said yes, I paid. He proceeds to show his team how to make a Greek salad. According to their menu, it is a lettuce blend, cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumber, red onion, garbanzo beans, black olives, pepperocini, crumbled feta cheese and Italian dressing. He made: lettuce blend, exactly two slices of cucumber, maybe 4 pieces of red onion, exactly two halved cherry tomatoes, one piece of green bell pepper (huh?), two carrot sticks (what?!), a tiny amount of feta and a small ramekin of Italian. No garbanzo beans. Mostly just lettuce. So... the manager didn't even get the recipe right. And I paid $11.99 for this hot mess of a salad for my girlfriend, who looked at it and said "wtf is this? This isn't a Greek salad." I told her the manager made it. She just laughed. The pizza was good but not kept warm at all. It was completely cold when I got home (two mile drive). I will not be returning to this Mountain Mikes when I'm visiting the Bay Area again. I've never had an experience that just ruined the meal here before. Seems like there is new management/ownership. It is not worth going to this location. Go to River Oaks location for the freshest Mountain Mike's in San Jose. I'm including a picture of their own recipe from the website and a picture of what I received for the salad. In a moment of weakness, I decided to give this location another try today. They're the closest to me, but the difference in quality between this location and Story Rd. is night and day. I ordered a medium garlic Tuscan and some boneless wings for pickup. Pickup was quick, staff was friendly, and the food was packaged for food delivery (safety seals, etc) Upon arrival at home, I unpacked the food and gave the wings a try. They were excellent. When I opened the pizza box, the first thing I thought was that it looked dry. The hot links (I think) were hard and crispy. There was barely any sauce, and then I realized it looked nothing like the pizza I was supposed to have received. I double-checked the labels and made sure I placed the order correctly. Not sure what happened here. I managed to eat two slices that I drowned in ranch, but it really wasn't worth trying. What a disappointment. Maybe medium? Not entirely sure. But definitely more than enough to feed the both of use. I'm sure the hubby will have some later tonight when he gets home. I'm a meat lover, so enjoyed the Pikes Peak. Not as salty as the last time I tried it, but I did have some green onions at home all chopped up, so I threw a bunch of them on my slice. Definitely provided a nice contrast. I also enjoyed the Garlic Tuscan. (At least I think that's what the other pizza was?) I guess the bro in law remembered I do not live olives, so there were none on this. I'm normally not a huge fan of sun dried tomatoes either, but the texture wasn't too dry and chewy, so I didn't even notice them. Worst Service Ever! I went to this store last week and ordered online for pickup, using my rewards. However, they didn't give me my order. The guy working there, who was wearing a turban, was rude and told me I could only use $10 worth of rewards per order and had to pay for the rest. He then suggested I go to the Alum Rock location if I wanted to use my rewards fully. I went to the Alum Rock location, but I couldn't use my rewards there because they had already been applied to the order that was canceled, and I never got my rewards back. Despite that, they still gave me a 30% discount when I walked in. I don't understand why one location accepts rewards and the other doesn't, especially since it's the same franchise. This was incredibly unprofessional, and I was extremely disappointed with the customer service at the first store. Definitely won't be returning. read more

As other people notes, service was lackluster. There was noone at the counter. Finally, when we were allowed to pay, I did not feel particularly welcome. But then, I do not care if I am greeted with a smile and a handshake as long as the food is good. We came for the buffet, with an hour to go. There were 2 slices of pineapple pizza and a dehydrated-pepperoni pizza. We ate and hoped for more, but the all-you-can-eat buffet was cut short by the fact that they did not replenish the pizza. I have to say I was a little disappointed on not seeing my regular greeter. First, I ordered the Mckinely and it looks as if they added the pepperonis on top. the manager, assured me that the pizza was made correctly. We often go here for takeout every time their coupon comes in the mail. The pizzas always hits the spot. It has perfect thickness and there's a good amount of options for specialty pizzas. I recently got the Snowy Alps and I've also tried the Garlic Tuscan. I think it's quite worth it with the coupon. Sometimes they ask for the physical coupon, sometimes they don't. I recommend putting in an order over the phone or online. The wait time can be long; even standing in line for the cashiers is long. I don't think their salad bar is open yet here. The interior is spacious and emulates a cabin vibe. Unfortunately I don't imagine myself eating there since it smells chemically and damp all the time. It was uncomfortable to stand in line. Arrived on a Thurday evening about 8pm. Waited about 3 minutes to see any workers. When I finally found a worker, Not a single word came from his mouth. I asked for a Pikes pizza and the man just stood there. I repeated my order and the man took my money and gave me change. still did not say a word. Picked up pizza later and the lady was nice enough, until i asked for a bag. Apparently me a bag is a major inconvenience. In conclusion, Service is lacking.
