I'm giving them 5 stars solely based on the customer service we received tonight. We were a party of 8 and Ofelia took care of us all night by arranging tables together for us to all sit together, checking in on us and providing us with to go boxes and bags. She made sure we were all taken care of and couldn't have had a much better experience than we did tonight. Aside from that, the food was pretty decent for the price you pay for food here. I got the steak and unlimited shrimp for $22.99 and had no complaints. Mashed potatoes aren't the best so I would probably order a different side next time. I wrote a raving review of Sizzler last week. I went back last night. It was a Sunday dinner and there were lots going on. I can't say it's all bad but it wasn't all great. My kids steak were supposed to be medium rare but arrived medium to medium-well. My wife's steak was not seasoned but no harm done as we had salt and peppercorns at the table. The salad bar was also missing taco shells and they ran out of fried chicken. The only saving grace is that the cashier told us ahead of time that some items are missing. This time around the restaurant was almost full and the staff seemed to be complaining they were running out of this and that. It was a bit chaotic this day. The kids' steak were still pretty good but just overcooked. My wife complained it was a letdown. I don't want to beat a dead horse, but I rate this visit as 3 stars. So our 2 visit average rating is 4 stars. I will still come back but I'll stick to a weekday. read more

Nachos! Delicious assorted fruits! Wow! The best part is they have a Self Serve/ice cream station--also, including non-fat frozen yogurt, which I Never see anywhere with yummy toppings! They even had iced coffee along with iced tea and all your favorite beverages. All of this is included for seniors(over 60) $14.99 with tax, the regular price is three dollars more --I think still a great deal! I never see all this stuff offer anywhere anymore! How wonderful they include your your beverage and desert in the price! The place has been there for over thirty + years Met up with a friend it's like a Home Town Buffet vibe. Jenny was an amazing server. The salad bar was a busy place. The seating is interesting. Customers queue up to place and pay for their orders before being seated. A tray with all necessary utensils and a drink cup is handed over. Tipping is deferred until after the meal, left on the table. Guests seat themselves and manage their own beverages, while a waitress delivers bread options, if you ordered the buffet, they do not have the friend chicken strips in the buffet table but rather bring a bowl for you. The ordered meal is brought to the table, with the waitress overseeing the dining experience. Additionally, there is a complimentary ice cream dessert bar where you can indulge to their heart's content. I opted for the shrimp scampi and steak combo. The steak proved challenging to cut due to its tough texture, and the pasta arrived somewhat cold, with the cheese failing to melt. The overall flavor was satisfactory but not remarkable - nothing extraordinary. However, the affordability of the menu is a definite plus. Grab you a nice big steak have it charred nicely on the outside and medium to medium rare on the inside get you some onions and mushrooms sautéed and he a loaded baked or regular baked. What I like about this place is how cozy it feels. It's one of my go to places after the gym (which is right across the plaza). I would give this place a 2/5 stars for cleanliness. The food they give you is at the right portion where they are not overfeeding or underfeeding you. Since I don't each much, this place is perfect for people who love eating small portions of food. There's always an all you can eat salad bar for people who eats a lot, but I usually don't get that since it's not really worth my money. I got the double lobster tail and it is a solid 5/5. Another thing that I like about this place is that you pay before seating yourself. I know it's optional to tip, but do it anyways for gratitude. I was surprised that the cashier gave me the cash that I tipped for them because I expected the tip money to go through every workers, but no, it's for our waiter. It's pretty cool because if you don't like that person, you can keep that tip money for someone else, but this tip money goes straight to the waiter. I like making my own salads, tacos or nachos and snack on those before my main meal arrives. Service is always on point. Decided to try this place out last night for the first time shortly after someone had mentioned to us how they like Sizzler and that we've got to try it once. We were told that there used to be quite a few locations in San Jose and this is one of the last ones so it's a nostalgic place for many. It was actually pretty busy for a Thursday night. But we got to order immediately. We ordered: baby back ribs w/ veg and a smokey bacon burger w/ fries & salad bar add-on. While ordering I did notice a huge sign that said there's been a shortage of salad bar wings so they are offering chicken nuggets and mini corn dogs instead. Lol. The employee said wings had been out for a few months now. The unlimited salad bar looked pretty decent for $6.99 there were a good variety of salad toppings, it was nice as well that there were different types of greens to choose from for the salad base. The supply chain shortage sign said they replaced wings with chicken nuggets and mini corn dogs. I didn't want the mini corn dogs but noticed that they weren't put out. There were 3 different types of soup, as well as jello, some cut fruit and a frozen yogurt soft serve machine with vanilla, chocolate or swirl. There were not any ice cream cones though. My husband got a salad, vegetable soup, chicken nuggets, and swirl soft serve. The salad was good. None of the greens were slimey or turning and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of toppings offered. The vegetable soup was alright, not the worst but not great. It honestly tasted pre-prepared like progresso canned vegetable soup. The chicken nuggets tasted nearly identical to McDonald's, likely just frozen pre-prepared. The swirl soft serve reminded me again of the McDonald's soft serve id get as a kid. Our server brought us garlic toast. It was thick cut, lightly toasted and extremely airy soft. It was very much like brioche toast and it was nice. I thought it could've had more garlic though and a lot less oil/butter. My baby back ribs. The bbq sauce on them tasted good which I suspect is not house made and likely came out of a bottle. The middle of each rib was pretty good but the edges were over cooked, much drier and kind of tough. I will mention that a lot of the time at chain restaurants - vegetable side dishes come verrrrrrry over cooked. The broccoli side I had was not and I was again pleasantly surprised by it and also appreciated the fact that it wasn't salted. My husband had the smokey bacon burger as recommended by the person that took our order. He really enjoyed it and although looked very heavy, said it wasn't. The fries were good, nicely seasoned and crisp but not overdone. Overall, it wasn't one of the best meals I've had in my life and it definitely wasn't one of the worst. It's not mind blowing, high quality, all fresh no frozen, 100% house made food. But for a chain, it was good. We're glad we tried it out. In comparison to similar level chain restaurants it could be a 4. But overall I'd say it's about a 3.5 at best. read more

Brings back childhood memories. It was great. I was hesitant coming here at first but we we wanted lunch prior to viewing a house for rent in the Evergreen area. Little did we know the property management never got back to us. Things happen for a reason and I believe it was to draw us to Sizzler. I haven't been since I was probably 10. Service was great. We could get our own beverages but the woman taking care of that section was not only nice, fast, and made us feel very welcomed. At the front, I ordered so much. I asked for 2 buffet and Gavin and I each ordered an entrée. I ordered the grilled chicken club and Gavin ordered a kid's cheese burger. Every table gets complimentary what looks and tasted like Texas toast. Food was sub-par but I loved the selections and the service we received. The buffet was awesome: clam chowder, chicken wings, salad, nachos, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, among many others.
