Anthony is the 3rd flat screen installed that I have hired in the last few years (we moved a few times) and he is by far the best. The reason is simple: he delivers exactly what he promises without any hidden fees. He did a great job installing our 42" plasma above a fireplace, which is never an easy task. I contacted Anthony by email and he called me back the next day to set up an appointment a few hours later. Now that's fast service! He travels all over the bay area and is willing to work at night which is nice for those of us who have day jobs. He works fast and efficiently and had the whole set mounted in less than half an hour. He does a precise job leveling and centering the set. And he explains all the wiring options. But the thing that I like the most is that Anthony is the first installer I've found who advertises his actual prices for all of his services and equipment on craigslist and doesn't try to upsell you for additional services that weren't included in his original quote . As other reviewer have noted, his installation and equipment prices are really, really good - in fact the basic mounting hardware that he sold me was $12 cheaper than costco and $30 cheaper than amazon. Finally I should note that he is just a really nice guy. I talked his ear off while he was working but he didn't seem to mind because he likes people and like helping them. Mount Em Up was a greatly affordable way to get my flat screen tv mounted. They also install surround sound systems if you don't know how to do it yourself. Anthony came with a very professional attitude and answered all of my questions thoroughly and easy for me to understand. I'm not one of those that's electronically saavy and he explained things to me that I never knew before about my own TV!! I actually had it installed by someone else who left the TV stand on the TV as it was on the wall and it was off-centered in the corner of my apartment. When Anthony came in, he removed the TV from the wall, inspected the placement of the original mount, fabricated a mount for the corner of the apartment, removed the stand and rehung the TV. He also used this long plastic tubing to conceal all of the dangling wires, so there was no visible mess or clutter. My 46" TV looks great and he did it in little time and with such ease. Pros: Skilled workers, flexible scheduling, and overall good quality of finished work. Cons: Opaque pricing, charged me 67% more than what they quoted over the phone, would not quote me an hourly rate, itemize charges or provide an invoice. The scope of the job was: 1) Installing an articulating wall mount for a 65" TV. 2) Installing a power bridge with cable routed from wall socket level to mid wall. 3) Routing two HDMI cables behind the wall from wall socket level to mid wall. 4) The TV had to be mounted in a specific spot on the wall because two days later a custom built media center had to be installed around the TV. The two operators performing the work were indeed skilled. I watched them closely and I can tell that they knew what they were doing. They worked together efficiently and knew how to use their tools safely and effectively. The holes they cut were precise and level. The finished job was symmetrical and looked like quality work. The total time it took to do the job was about 3.5 hours. I was quoted a price of $850 over the phone and asked $1,420 when the job was done. When I asked why the price was so much higher than the quote, I was not given a convincing explanation. Mount Em Up would not tell me their hourly rate, they said they charged based on their assessment of how hard the job was. Thus, as far as I can tell, the pricing is completely subjective and made up on the spot. Also they did not provide a written itemized breakdown of the charges or an invoice. I asked them for an invoice while they were at my home and they said they would email me one. After following up by emailing them, and speaking to them over the phone, they still have not provided an invoice. Thus, I cannot recommend Mount Em Up based on their current pricing model. Almost every other tradesman I've ever hired, will typically charge a flat fee for a service call and either provide an hourly rate or an itemized price for specific work. This is the way every plumber, mechanic, and electrician prices their work so that it is objective and the customer does not feel taken advantage of. Pricing based on an on-the-spot assessment provided after the work is too easy to game. Even if it was justified there's no objective way for me to determine that. When I pushed back and told them their price was too high, they offered to give me $320 off the bill for my old TV and soundbar. Not wanting to argue with two gentlemen twice my size I cut them a check for $1,100. This is where the story gets interesting. Ten minutes after they walked out the door, I looked at the plans for the media center I had printed out for the Mount Em Up workers and realized the TV was mounted in the wrong spot! To be fair, the reason it was mounted in the wrong spot was mostly my fault. I had read the plan wrong and put up markers on the wall that were wrong. I say mostly my fault for the following reasons: 1) The outfit that built our custom media center recommended we mount the TV after the media center was installed. The media center is designed to have bare wall behind the TV and cabinets so it would have been possible to cut holes and fish wire after it was installed. Despite this, Mount Em Up insisted they mount the TV first and asked that I email them the plan for the media center, presumably so they could study it and know where to mount the TV. 2) I emailed Mount Em Up the plan for the media center a week before the job. If they would have spent any time at all studying the plan they probably would have caught the incorrect marker I put on the wall. 3) I gave Mount Em Up a printed copy of the plan before they started the job and asked them to double-check my measurements. They took some measurements but still did not realize that my marker was wrong. Therefore, I think Mount Em Up bears some responsibility for the mistake that was made, but instead they put it all on me. I would expect professionals to study plans and check and double-check measurements independently. To put it in perspective, the workers who installed the media center spent almost 30 minutes measuring everything up precisely and did not rely on a single measurement I gave them. To their credit, Mount Em Up did manage to clear a busy schedule, during what seemed like challenging circumstances, to stop by the day after the original job and fix the mistake. This time I discussed pricing with them before they started the work. Even so they quoted $500 and ended up asking $600 for roughly an hour and a half of work. In conclusion, I would not recommend Mount Em Up unless they change the way they do pricing. I'm pretty sure that if the folk at Mount Em Up where in my shoes, if they had hired a plumber or electrician to do work at their house, and that tradesman told them they wouldn't honor their original quote and made up a price that was 70% higher for the work they did after the fact without credible justification, they would feel about the same way I do. read more

He spent time explaining what he was doing and how he was doing it, plus his prices are very reasonable. Half the time spent was on measuring and making sure I was satisfied with the positioning of the mount. Anthony and his helper did a great job of replacing my old mounted tv with a new one above my fireplace mantle. Even though there was a very tight fit for existing cables, he was able to get the new high speed HDMI to run through there. When he encountered tough masonry (chimney) where the mounting hardware had to be installed, he was prepared for that, but let me know what he had to do. He suggested that we use a mount that he brought himself due to the location of the outlet and the hole in the wall, which I think was a good call. His mount was sturdy and fit well and I was able to return the mount I had purchased to save some money. Anthony was friendly, patient and clear in his communication. But I took away 3 stars because first he was 30-45 mins late and the final price was waaaay way above the estimate he gave me. Like $325 instead of "150-200". At no point during the installation did he give me any indication that it was going to be more expensive, and when I asked for clarification afterwards he didn't really give me much explanation. So, I'm a bit of a dip shit when it comes to being a handyman. I have about three tools to my name, and I only really know how to use one of them (hammer, FTW!). I've never even attempted to change the oil in my whip, I rarely leave an encounter with an IKEA bookshelf without crazy bruises and blood loss, and if things go haywire in the wee morning hours in my apartment, chances are, they won't be fixed until someone with bigger cajones than myself comes by to fix them on an emergency call. So, when the idea of mounting an HDTV to my small apartment wall to save space came to mind, you bet your sweet ass I hired someone else to make it happen. I'm willing to be that if I were to try mounting the TV myself, I'd end up with a broken television and a huge crater in my wall. Lucky for me, Anthony at Mount 'em Up was there to help me out! I shot him an email two days ago, and within about 36 hours of our electronic correspondence, he was in my pad with drill in hand, ready to get down and dirty! I thought for sure I'd have to wait upwards of a week to have someone come by, but no... it was done almost as fast as I could come up with the idea of having him come over in the first place, and he totally worked around my schedule (even interrupting a family party on a Saturday to come by and hook me up!). His prices are dirt cheap, and unless something wacky happens and I wake up to a crashing thud (which I'm confident I won't), I don't see how anyone wouldn't want to have Anthony come by and do the same thing with their television set. He charges $85 for the actual mounting, and he's got an array of different devices to secure your TV which he scores at cost, and passes the savings onto you. I'm in my late 20's and I've never owned my own TV. I just bought a new condo and decided to go big and buy the biggest TV that would fit on top of my mantle. I ended buying a 60 inch LED TV, found some mount on Amazon.com, but had no idea how to mount the thing up. I turned to Yelp and found Anthony. These guys are really great. They were in and out in less than 30 minutes. I'm giving them 5 stars for the service. The mount I bought came with screws and wires, but Anthony decided to use the screws he brought because he said they were sturdier. The HDMI cable that came with the mount was too fat to fit in the wire coverings so Anthony gave me a new HDMI cables free of charge. I was really impressed with the service and their pricing. Can I give him 6 stars? Had him come out a few weeks ago to mount my TV. Did an awesome job, even though there is some tricky molding where I wanted it done. Sweet. Table stakes for TV install, right? This only gets anyone 3 or 4 stars. Had him come back a couple nights ago to help me wire the surround sound, and to raise the TV a couple inches to make room for the center channel. Not only did he help me with the wiring, he taught me a few tricks so I could do some of the other wiring I want to do (ethernet, etc.) on my own, better. He also pointed out that there was a better (cheaper) cable I should use for what I want to do, waited 20min while I went to the store to get it, and didn't charge me anything more than what he'd quoted. That got him to 5 stars. The sixth star: there was a point where I said something was "fine if it wasn't spot on" (because said complicated molding was in the way again), and he practically snapped at me: "No way. We're doing it right -- my name is on this." And do it perfectly he did Will definitely be calling him again the next time I need help to mount/wire anything home theater related -- you should too! read more

Anthony really knows what he is doing, has excellent customer service, and comes in at half the price of competitors. I was really happy with the service. One thing to remember is he isn't supposed run power cables through drywall (I think it doesn't meet fire code--at least in large buildings), so you should have a solution of how you want to elegantly run the power cable along a side somewhere. He does have white strips for $25 that will cover them up. Other A/V cables can be dropped through the wall. For how high up you want the TV, I think go higher than you would think. We went high and were happy with it even though he cautioned us to keep it lower. Just call him to book an appointment. He can get backed up and run late sometimes, so if you schedule it at night (one nice thing is he works late so you can do it after work), have your evening free and realize it might start late and run long depending on complexity. read more

Mount Em Up is totally legit. I needed to mount my 5-yr old LCD TV in my bedroom (much heavier than newer flat screens) and it was a pretty straight forward job. No in-wall wires, or tricky mounting. Anthony knows how to get the job done and doesn't mess around. We did run into a problem with the wrong mount, but he was extremely accommodating and brought over the correct mount the next day and compensated me very nicely with extras. Score!!! Anthony has done two installs for me now and he rocked on both. Both were plasmas going onto a wall. In both occasions we didn't have a plug anywhere nearby. So not only did he bring and install a mount, he also made a brand new plug right behind the plasma display so that there'd be no cables hanging down. Can't recommend him highly enough and have to any friends who need this kind of service. It's definitely a niche but it's awesome to see someone who specializes in one thing and does it perfectly. Anthony is the BEST!! My husband and I inherited very complicated TV mount on stone fireplace when we bought a house. The previous owner didn't even bother to dismount TV when he left because I am positive it was much easier and cheaper to just get another flat screen TV. A year goes by, we are staring to get sick of old and small TV. We want to watch football with our 65 inch flat screen TV again. However, we are completely shocked when we received more than $2000 price quote with 15 hour job from one company and seriously not willing to invest that much money into switching TV, I mean why mounting costs more than TV itself? That quote didn't include any sound system or fancy wireing at all. I went into Yelp and found Anthony and Mount Em Up. Anthony gave me a call and told me that he can do the job that day by give or take or an hour!!! I have to admit that I was skeptical at first (sorry, I was told by professional that it will take 15 hours and $2000) But Anthony came with his friend Oscar and they switched our TV in 2 hours! with fraction of cost!! I will say that dismounting old TV was complicated and took a while, but he figured out the way to do it and like every other yelp said, he knows what he is doing and he does it right!
