I bought a new Yamaha xsr700 and brought the bike to Emma to install several after market upgrades to the bike.

Aaliyah's Auto Repair - Price for diagnostics

    Aaliyah's Auto Repair

Did a good job with my older vehicles. Sometimes parts take time or no longer are made or hard to find, but they were able to find and repair smoothly while communicating well. The prices they have are reasonable. It's not the dealership, but the quality to me was just as good if not better and not paying the dealership prices. Our vehicle runs smoothly now thanks to these guys troubleshooting. Would definitely recommend.

I met with the seller of my vehicle at Aaliyah's Auto Shop for a pre-inspection. During the…read moreinspection, the owner, Jesse, informed me that my vehicle had a "very small" water pump leak and that the coolant level was low. He stated that he topped off the coolant with fluid and showed my husband a picture; however, the picture he showed was only of the coolant, not of an actual water pump leak. At no point was I shown a picture or physical evidence of a leak itself. Due to the stress of the transaction and being surprised by this diagnosis--especially since I regularly maintain my vehicle every three months--I did not ask to personally see the alleged leak at that time. Jesse also stated that the vehicle needed new brake pads because they were due for replacement. A few days later, I contacted Jesse to request a photo of the water pump leak. He then informed me that he did not have any photo of a leak--only a photo of the coolant. He went on to say that the car was otherwise "perfect," drove great, and that the only issues were the need for new breaks and a new water pump. Because of these inconsistent statements, I took it upon myself to have the vehicle inspected at a Honda dealership while also completing an oil change. The certified Honda mechanics did not find any water pump or coolant leaks (please see attached video). Additionally, they confirmed that the brakes were at approximately 50% life remaining and did not require immediate replacement. Based on these findings, I am deeply concerned about the accuracy and integrity of the inspection performed at Aaliyah's Auto Shop. It appeared that unnecessary repairs were recommended without sufficient evidence. Jesse also emphasized that his shop was the cheapest in town and that he offers the best prices, which further raised concerns that the diagnosis may have been influenced by sales motives rather than factual mechanical issues. I believe this experience demonstrates a lack of transparency and reliability. I strongly encourage anyone seeking a pre-purchase inspection to consider using a trustworthy and reputable mechanic or dealership service center to avoid receiving misleading or inaccurate information.

Rooster Wheels seems to be more of a mobile service now as their Marina location is currently closed. Izzy came to me to work on my bike. William and Izzy were very helpful and responsive. Perhaps the bigger places prey on tourists but Rooster Wheels Bike Shop is a true hole-in-a-wall in the best sense possible. On a random weekday afternoon, we got there as a dad and his two daughters were happily loading bikes into their car. One guy was finishing up his transaction and three more potentials customers came by...all while we had only been there the short time we were there. All this to say that William was juggling many things at once from repairs to sales to rentals and yet he never rushed anyone (including us). He seemed so kind and honest and very down to earth. He checked every single bike, filled tires with air as needed, and even let me have a wrench to adjust one of the bikes. Who does that?!??? So awesome. On the COVID front, he had the front roped off so customers aren't touching all the bikes, he wore a mask, & used sanitizer on every bike to disinfect and constantly sanitized his hands. Last random bit to share....William was great with my kids. Very gentle and encouraging to my younger kid by telling her she could learn to ride a bike and gave examples of his own kids learning at the ages they did! And his dog Pedal was such a well-behaved and sweet dog. If you're the kind of person that uses kids and dogs to gauge a person, let that be a nugget of info for you! What a lucky gem of a find for me and my family! We will be repeat customers. Thanks William!!!!

I stopped by on 9 August 2025 to check out the new Specialized Turbo Levo 4s and Craig took the time to go over the features of the models I was interested in, reviewing the pros and cons for each bike. Craig was down-to-earth and trustworthy, sharing insights into how he decides what products he carries in the shop. His store manager, Robin, then took me on a guided test ride around the Salinas neighborhood. He took the time to let me explore some of the capabilities of the bike and answered all my questions. I spent the next two days doing more research, and after email exchanges with Bridgette after business hours, pulled the trigger on an orange 2026 Specialized Turbo Levo Comp on 12 August 2025. I believe in the principle that you buy the seller first, which is why I decided to buy from Craig and Bridgette. I felt they were good, high character people, and the awesome purchasing experience and post-sale customer service reinforced that feeling and conclusion. I cannot recommend Bobcat Bicycles enough...they are my go-to shop for servicing my Levo. I have also returned to the shop on several occasions, picking up new pedals, grips, and a couple of Specialized shirts and a pair of Specialized shorts at a great price. Craig was there each time greeting me like a welcomed, long time customer.
