Craig and Bridgette, the owners of Bobcat Bicycles, are wonderful people and run a fantastic bike shop. I stopped by on 9 August 2025 to check out the new Specialized Turbo Levo 4s and Craig took the time to go over the features of the models I was interested in, reviewing the pros and cons for each bike. Craig was down-to-earth and trustworthy, sharing insights into how he decides what products he carries in the shop. His store manager, Robin, then took me on a guided test ride around the Salinas neighborhood. He took the time to let me explore some of the capabilities of the bike and answered all my questions. I spent the next two days doing more research, and after email exchanges with Bridgette after business hours, pulled the trigger on an orange 2026 Specialized Turbo Levo Comp on 12 August 2025. I believe in the principle that you buy the seller first, which is why I decided to buy from Craig and Bridgette. I felt they were good, high character people, and the awesome purchasing experience and post-sale customer service reinforced that feeling and conclusion. I cannot recommend Bobcat Bicycles enough...they are my go-to shop for servicing my Levo. I have also returned to the shop on several occasions, picking up new pedals, grips, and a couple of Specialized shirts and a pair of Specialized shorts at a great price. We came during the pandemic to buy our daughter a bike, it was during the time they only allowed one or two groups of people at the time inside. We waited and went in and our salesman was good but trying to rush us, then all of a sudden one of the guys behind the counter told our salesman to " hurry up because there are more people waiting" right in front of us. No tact, one hundred percent rude. Now, I understand it is annoying to wait, but we waited, so the people in front of us. Anyways, we were ready to buy a bike that was really over our budget, but we ended up leaving because giving money to people treating you in such way seemed wrong. To the people at Specialized bikes, I feel sorry you have a store like this one representing your brand because it is included in your retailer search results, we really wanted one of your bikes but we ended up going a complete different route due primarily to avoid Bobcat at all cost in present and future. read more

Took my granddaughter's bike here to find out why it went flat. The man took her bike out from the back of my van. And when he showed us the hole in the tube he explained how it could have happened. First time bicycle buyer here! I was looking for something to use for exercise with low impact on my problematic knees. Being an overweight gal, I had concerns weight capacity and capability and my internet searches were coming up short. I called Bobcat Bicycles and spoke to Craig, who was kind enough to hear out my concerns, suggest 3 different models I could research and invited me in for an appointment. I read several promising reviews for the Specialized Crossroads 3.0 he suggested, called back and was able to make a same day appointment! When I arrived (even late) I was offered a warm welcome in and was able to meet with Craig within a couple minutes. I was offered a test drive and Ryan was kind enough to walk our bikes together to a neighboring parking lot so I could give it a go. I had many questions for Ryan the fit of the bike and others, and he was there with reassuring answers to every one. Returning back to the shop to meet Craig, he was eager to know how the bike made me feel and upon my expressed satisfaction, offered me a generously fair price and I said yes! I was even fitted for a helmet and gloves by another lovely gentleman, though I didn't catch his name. Checkout was a breeze and I was invited back for 3 complimentary adjustments in the first year. Walking into a specialty shop for an industry I know nothing about and being vulnerable enough to discuss personal issues like my weight to strangers can be daunting. However, all of the staff onsite were amiable, made me feel so incredibly comfortable and were all highly confident in their quality products and services. Great local business intent on providing customers with great service. I bought my first FSR bike from them and have had all its service needs filled by them as well (Specialized Camber). No BS, no pressured up sells, tons of insight and recommendations based on their vast experience of simply loving to ride. During the pandemic, I decided to get myself a Specialized Levo ebike. Unfortunately the demand for bicycles far exceeded the supply and I had to buy mine up in the Bay Area. Bobcat does ALL the service for that bike as well. Their exceptional relationship with Specialized (and Specialized's dedication to customer satisfaction) allowed them to go above and beyond with a warranty issue I had and got me out the door 2 days before a week long biking getaway I had planned for months in advance. Why go here when they have a very over priced repairs! I know because I have taken my 3 bikes here. They charged me more than the other 2 shops that I had my bikes repaired and no warranty and when they screw up they would not come clean and say sorry ! Most of the store employees are the very same as short at times rude ! In my encounter with respect it also had been related to the name and types of bicycles being repaired. So just to make sure I had some one else go in for the same thing same bikes and they paid less every time? The owner thinks he's superior of a professional shop owner! woooo whooo! As good as it gets!... because: i picked up my bike tonight, a short time before they closed at 6. that's right, they're open til 6... they're open on sundays 'til 4.. my bike was wrecked when i delivered it to bobcat a couple of weeks ago. in the interim, they put on two new great looking rims, a new chain, new armadillo tires, cleaned and polished everything, adjusted the brakes, made all of the mechanisms work together again, and re wired the bike - yes, they re wired it! my 2010 hot rod specialized sirrus looks brand new, and rides better than it has in a couple of years. you can't tell that it has over 7500 miles on it. bob, chuck, craig, and sebastian rock! read more

Local bike shop is well stocked with equipment and bikes. They service bikes too. Nice staff. Family place.

I only go in when i absolutely need something before i'm about to go on a ride. With that being said, every time i walk in, it doesn't feel like a welcoming environment. The owner just glares at you, the workers don't acknowledge you. I never leave reviews because i hate being this person, but the workers are rude and a bunch of smarta.... Like how is this place still in business, you literally have to yell at someone if you want to pay for something or else they will never help you. Besides that, if you have time, I would definitely recommend Work Horse Bicycles in Monterey. SO much more friendlier staff, they take care of you needs, told them how at bobcats they messed up my bike and even lowered the price of repair for me!!!! That is all. I feel bad for doing this but the service is just garbage there and super overpriced. read more
