This is for the bike repair. I really want to like these guys and the owner seems really nice. Here's why I couldn't give 4-5 stars and even felt hesitant about giving 3. I brought my 5 year old son's se lil ripper which had been having repeated flats (I thought maybe there was a rim issue). Employee (can't remember his name but he's an ex cop from Salinas) fixed the flat (he found some goats heads between the tube and the tire). Sweet right? Not so fast. He gives me the bike back and my son rides it down the sidewalk but has to bail because the employee didn't pull the brakes tight. I take the bike back and he tells me it'll be overnight to get it fixed. We're bummed because the whole point of bringing the bike to a shop next to fort ord is so we can ride together for a bit. So I get a call the next day saying the bike's ready to go. I show up and another employee gives me the bike back. I ride it down the side walk and ... same thing. Brakes are blown. I take it back and tell the owner the problem. He throws it on the stand and pulls the brakes tight and gives it back. Brakes at least pulls the pads against the rim so my son will be safe. Total price $11 for the tube and finding the goats heads + $10 and two wasted days with the brakes which only needed tightening because of the tube install in the first place. When I saw the price for the brakes I figured they must have pulled a new cable. Nope. Same one I had there before. I should have just done the brakes myself. For my money (and more importantly time) I could have replaced the cable and housing and maybe thrown in a pair of pads. Oh well. Lesson learned. Maybe the coffee is good. One last thing. The initial employee told me not to take my son to the pump track in East Salinas. Maybe that's the ex cop bias but I've been to East Salinas many times and never had a problem. read more

My breaks had given out when I was flying down a mountain in Toro. That scared me, so I stopped by their shop and asked them to take a look. Steve started working on it immediately and Tim started making me a Vanilla Latte. We chit chatted, Steve found the problem (my breaks had bubbles). He worked on the breaks while I sipped on my latte... few minutes later he was done... he charged me $10 for the repair and I was good to go. That was fun! Now its 6 months later and I'm about to go back for a different, unrelated problem my bike is having! Love these guys!! read more

The handful of times I've attempted to have coffee here have been terrible experiences. The coffee tastes awful, it is overpriced, and the staff is inexperienced to say the least. Having a bike shop at toro park plaza has always been a dream of us cyclist. At first I was a little skeptical about a bike / coffee shop but my worries completely disappeared the moment I walked in. Five stars for a reason and yes I also drink coffee. Though I can't speak for the "fru fru" coffee drinkers, I love the flavor of Verge and my regular dark roast or espresso is exactly what a want before or after a ride. Now on to the bike side. I have very high standards when it comes to judging a bike shop or mechanics. This probably comes from the fact that I am a automotive technician and am definitely a little obsessed with upcoming technology or trends in the bike industry. Steve definitely has both. Being excited about the sport with the new new and having a rich knowledge of the years past. I respect that and am very excited to have a bike shop to call home. Thank you Steve and staff. I stopped in here while filling up, didn't know it was there. My double espresso was excellent, rivalling the best on the peninsula. Great crema, nice body and flavor. If they do their milk as well as their espresso, their lattes must be delicious. If you're in the area or going for a ride in Ft. Ord off of 68, it's worth swinging by. read more

Just had a dirty chai and didn't ask for the "dirty" service I got with it- From dirty looks to his need to tell me my reusable cup with dirty( maybe he's never seen one before) Anyways I asked if I could rinse it out and he said "no I'll just clean it here because i don't want it dirty in there "- sprayed it and handed it back to me dirty then claimed he denied my request of my drink in it because it was dirty- of course he used a paper cup with intention to pour it in my "dirty" cup after dirtying that cup ( ironically that's dirty for our environment)- it sounds funny but it wasn't - because of his condensing tone it was actually rude - then as I left and still mustered up a Thank you he threw in "thank you to the person who got you that gift card" like it's any of his business how I paid and if somehow that validated his service- Dirty chai wasn't even that good so although in the past I had better service looks like this clean yet somehow soo dirty lady will pass the insults and ignorance and just go down the street to Castle Rock Coffee ( gotta love their Lavender latte with great service) read more
