Bill must be turning over in his grave watching the legacy of his once-respected business crumble into this joke of a garage. I took my Harley in for service and ended up returning multiple times, each visit leaving my bike in worse condition than before. I finally had to take it to a professional shop in the Bay Area just to undo the damage. The mechanic there literally asked if someone was trying to kill me/us. That's how dangerous the work done here was. A new rear tire was mounted incorrectly, causing rubbing and leaving a deep 1/2-inch gouge around the entire tire before we realized what was happening. They also installed used parts without my consent -- completely unacceptable. When I went back to confront them and request a refund, I was smugly told to "take it to small claims court, others have." So, that's exactly what I'm doing. It doesn't stop there. My girlfriend's son took his bike in for a basic oil change and left with a cracked reservoir and a brake handle that literally fell off while he was riding it home. This place isn't just unprofessional -- it's outright dangerous. Stay far away. This shop is a lawsuit waiting to happen, and I genuinely fear for anyone trusting their lives to the work being done here.

Before they'll accept a bike on consignment, they charge $200 for a health and safety inspection. My 2018 Indian Scout Bobber had fewer than 4,000 miles, was in excellent condition, and passed that inspection without issue. After my bike sat on their showroom floor for 10 months, I received a call saying they could no longer sell it unless I paid approximately $700 to replace the fork seals and another $150 for a new battery. The battery recommendation made no sense because I had installed a brand-new battery only a month before dropping the bike off. It also appears the battery was never kept on a tender during the 10 months they had possession of it. When I picked up my motorcycle, I discovered a large scratch on the top of the rear fender that was not there when I left it. They denied any responsibility. To make matters worse, they still tried to charge me to replace the battery before releasing my bike. Overall, I left disappointed with the communication, the care taken with my motorcycle, and what felt like unnecessary repair recommendations after almost a year of waiting. Last night, my pregnant niece was stranded in the Pacific Grove area with a rear tire that was slowly losing air after picking up what we initially believed was one large nail. She needed to make the long drive back home to Sacramento, so our biggest concern was getting the tire properly repaired and making sure she could safely make the trip. We contacted Aguilar Tire Service, and the gentleman who answered the phone was professional, courteous, and immediately willing to help. He quoted us $100 to respond and professionally repair the tire, and he did exactly what he said he would do. My niece was able to make it to Castroville, where he met her exactly when he said he would be there. After inspecting the tire, he discovered that there were actually two large nails, not just one. He professionally repaired both punctures, made sure the tire was safe, and got her back on the road for the drive to Sacramento. What impressed me even more was that he did not charge her anything additional for repairing the second puncture. He honored the price he originally quoted us. That kind of honesty and integrity is becoming increasingly difficult to find. As a retired Police Sergeant, I also truly appreciated that he arranged to meet my pregnant niece in a safe location and handled the entire situation professionally. When you have a family member stranded away from home at night, especially a pregnant young woman who still has a long drive ahead of her, knowing that a dependable and trustworthy person is responding means a great deal. Aguilar Tire Service did exactly what they promised, arrived exactly when they said they would, charged exactly what they quoted, and made sure my niece was safe before sending her on her way. Folks, here's an honest review from one happy customer and someone who's known Doug for many years. 40+ yrs Doug is a sweet, down to earth gentlemen that knows his $h!t on just about everything. He can work on bicycles that many know him by, but he is so much more on motorcycles, race bikes, off road bikes and quads. Not many know he is a Salinas native whom at one time was an AMA Super-bike Champion Bad A$$ that toured the world.... I am honored to have him as my personal mechanic on my 93 GSXR 1100 for all my personal needs. I trust NO ONE to work on my toys but rest assured you can trust Doug to get things running right and done right the first time. His prices are comparable and knowing whatever he works on, you can rest easy knowing he treats it as his own. I've gone to other bike shops in Salinas, Monterey, Seaside, San Jose and non compare to the respect and quality of service I get from DC-10. They only offer a 30-day labor warranty, which honestly says a lot. Seems like they already know customers end up coming back with issues. I took my truck in and the "techs" installed the tie rods incorrectly -- literally backwards. This could've turned into a serious or even fatal problem if I hadn't caught it myself. I called the shop explaining my truck was driving incorrectly and something felt off. Instead of taking responsibility or trying to help immediately, the owner told me to bring it back in 5 days because they were "fully booked" and had no time to look at it. Very disappointing experience overall. Poor workmanship, poor customer service, and safety clearly isn't a priority here.
