Omg, they changed their name from Mi Café to Motiq, but the drinks are just as good as I remember :) I highly, highly recommend the double matcha latte and the matcha strawberry latte, which is still my personal favorite. The quality has remained consistent, and the drinks are just as delicious as ever. They've also updated the layout and overall vibe of the café. It feels much more chic and modern now, replacing the cozy sofas and couches they used to have. While I do miss some of the comfy seating, the refreshed aesthetic is cute and inviting in its own way. As always, service is quick and efficient. The only downside is that it's definitely more crowded these days now that the café has gone viral. Still, the drinks are worth the visit, and I'll continue coming back whenever I'm craving a good matcha fix.
I love this cafe I'll definitely be back especially to try their other menu items! staff were friendly and drinks came out pretty quickly. chestnut hojicha latte (4.8/5): this is such a good combo u can taste both the chestnut and hojicha and they compliment each other so well. it wasn't too sweet and not too heavy either. the hojicha was strong and thankfully didn't taste burnt. mango matcha cream top (4.7/5): definitely one of the better mango matchas that i've had. they compliment each other without overpowering the other. the matcha was smooth. not too sweet or heavy as well. seating: plenty of seating inside and outside. they have two full floors for outdoor seating which is perfect for studying. they do have free wifi as well. parking: they do have valet garage parking lot which is free for the first 3 hours if i remember correctly. bathroom: two bathrooms and both were pretty clean.
I arrived around 5 pm on a weekday and was able to find free parking easily underground! There is a valet, so I'm not sure if there's a time limit. Vibes: there's plentiful of seats and some with outlets. It can get pretty crowded but I had no issues finding a bar seat. On Thursday, April 23rd, I had lunch with my mom at M Cafe. I had the chicken pasta, and my mom had the avocado toast. I've been here several times before, and every time the food has been so delicious. The staff here are also extremely friendly: I tried to open the restroom door using the code, but it didn't work, so I went to the front desk. A female staff member kindly came over and helped open it for me. The restroom was also very clean, which was good. After placing the order, they give you a buzzer that rings when your food is ready, and you pick it up at the counter. When both dishes were ready, my mom was sitting outside on the patio, and I couldn't carry both trays at once. When I said I would come back for the second one, a male staff member kindly brought the other dish outside for me. I really appreciated how kind and helpful they were. However, one downside is that this place is very popular, so the food took about 40 minutes to come out. It was a really long wait. Since I went during lunch, I had to rush through my meal and hurry back to the office once the food finally arrived. cf 1) My mom placed the order while I was in the restroom and didn't ask me, so we ended up getting chicken pasta. If I had ordered, I would have chosen shrimp pasta instead. cf 2) After my mom placed the order, the staff member told her that the food would take about 20 to 40 minutes and asked if that was okay. Since I was in the restroom, she couldn't check with me, so we ended up waiting the full 40 minutes. The female staff member also mentioned to my mom that if we're in a hurry, it's better not to come here during lunch hours because the wait can be quite long. OMG. So I think this is a place that's better to visit on the weekend when you have more time to relax and enjoy the meal. cf 3) One more thing: you can only view the menu on your phone by scanning a QR code. They used to have paper menus last year, but they no longer do, which was a bit disappointing.
My new favorite matcha and coffee spot!! This place is awesome. Parking in the street or lot and head up to the second fooor. The space is huge, perfect for catching up with friends or getting work done. I grabbed some salt bread and a scone. The matcha salt bread was 10/10. The matcha scone was 9/10. The double matcha was delicious but what I loved even more was the misugaru latte with cream top! Similar to a black sesame but not as peanut-y. I got it half sweetened and it was perfect! Kind workers, quick service. 10/10 recommend this place.
The strawberry matcha was good but the strawberry puree wasn't sweet enough imo. The matcha is super creamy and the size is actually decent. The matcha cream top is good but slightly bitter. The strawberry salt bread was good but kinda just tasted like a buttered dinner roll so not sure if worth $6.50. Overall the vibes are nice and it's a solid matcha spot Update: the matcha was too strong and kept me up all night :(
Wow, wow, wow! Excellent drinks, excellent service. Came here for a quick pick-me-up and ordered a matcha cream top and misugaru cream top. Both were hand-crafted with care and looked so pretty...and the taste was as good as they looked! Matcha cream top was solid and had the right balance of sweet and strong matcha flavor. Misugaru was strong in coffee, but also nutty from the black sesame. Highly approve! As mentioned, service was super nice, even offering me a sturdy cup holder to bring the goods home. Cafe itself is located on the second floor of a mall-plaza and is fairly spacious with tons of natural lighting that's perfect for studying or catching up with friends. If I lived closer, I'd be at Mi Cafe every day!
i visited M cafe recently, and appreciated the free valet parking, which is super rare in LA. there were multiple seating options inside, outside, and on the floor above. i didn't try any of the food, but there were many options if you are planning on staying at the cafe longer. the service was very quick, even on a busy saturday afternoon. we ordered the matcha cream top and regular matcha latte both with oatmilk. the flavor of the matcha was super strong, which i personally love, and it wasn't too sweet either. i will definitely be coming back to study here!
This place is so cute, I love it. I'm so happy that there's a cafe opened early and doesn't close at 3 PM, so I can study for long periods of time. There is a parking garage here, but it's only 90 min parking and it's relatively small. Mi Cafe is on the second floor and quite spacious overall. There's an outdoor section with plenty of seating, I came during the rainstorm and some tables can't be used, but there's other tables that are usable. The inside has quite a few tables as well. It's pretty spacious and comfortable. The music is a little louder inside, so I'd recommend bring a pair of headphones. I also love the variety of food selection. A lot of cafes I've been studying usually only has pastries and no savory foods. This place has both! I had the vanilla bean latte which is pretty good. Not super sweet. I also had butter salt bread. It's not the softest I've ever had, but the taste is on point.
I found my favorite cafe in ktown and it checks so many boxes for me. First, free valet parking for 3 hours with a receipt in an underground, protected garage. Second, large tables for studying/doing work with reliable wifi. Spacious inside and outside and there are multiple floors of seating. Lastly, the drinks are extraordinary. The koi matcha comes with oat milk in the price and is sweet but not too sweet and the matcha is smooth and robust. Texture of the drink is not too thin. Literally how I love my matcha and how I like to make it for myself. The orange cream americano is also sooo good it reminds me of camel coffee but better price for the size and americano version. It's better than most orange coffees in ktown like Van Dyke and is so refreshing. I will definitely be a regular here!! I also love that they have full meal options like burger, pasta etc. Most cafes only have pastries and I end up starving. It also seems like a vibey place to hang out and catch up with friends because it's big enough to find a place with some privacy. So underrated but also don't want it to blow up TOO much so I can still find seating...

There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but it fills up quickly, especially with students studying or working. They offer both food and drinks. I ordered the Unsweetened Matcha Cream Top ($7.25), and it was really good! Strong matcha flavor and the cream top was a standout. Staff were nice, and overall it was a solid experience. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

My family and I tried the Strawberry Matcha Cream Top, Chestnut Hojicha Latte, and Raspberry Hibiscus. - Strawberry Matcha Cream Top -- So yummy! The matcha was smooth, and the fresh strawberries paired really well with it. - Chestnut Hojicha Latte -- Nutty, roasty, creamy, and not overly sweet or heavy. One of the best hojicha lattes I've had! - Raspberry Hibiscus -- Subtly fruity and refreshing. The staff were friendly, though it can get a bit crowded during busy times. They offer 3-hour validation in a parking structure, but parking can be limited and the spaces are a bit tight. There's seating inside the cafe, along with plenty of outdoor seating on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The outdoor area felt shaded, spacious, and airy. It's a great spot to socialize, study, or get some work done, and the 3rd floor is quieter if you want a calmer spot. I will definitely come back to try more of their drinks and food next time!
I recently tried almost everything on the menu at Motiq Cafe and I can honestly say I was blown away by nearly every single item. It's rare to find a place where so many dishes are consistently delicious, but they absolutely delivered! The sandwiches were all fantastic..mainly because the bread was incredibly soft without being soggy and every ingredient tasted fresh and high quality. The two standout dishes for me were the Fettuccine Alfredo and the Kimchi Pasta. As someone who is very picky about Alfredo, this was one of the best I've had in a long time!!!! So many restaurants make Alfredo that's either bland, overly cheesy, too heavy, or dry. They somehow found the perfect balance. It was creamy, flavorful, rich, and satisfying without feeling overwhelming. The Kimchi Pasta was another surprise favorite. It's one of those dishes that's hard to describe so you really just have to try it for yourself. The flavors were unique, addictive, and unlike anything I've had. If I had to pick a least favorite item, it would be the burger. The ingredients were clearly fresh and well-prepared, but compared to everything else on the menu, it felt a little bland and forgettable. There wasn't a signature sauce or unique element that made it stand out, so it ended up feeling pretty average. Drinks were all really good as well. Matcha was high quality, the mango matcha took me by surprise. I usually don't like mango drinks because it's sour and just doesn't match well with the matcha but this tasted like fresh Korean mangos and for sure had real mango at the bottom. read more
Such a charming little café with a really welcoming atmosphere. It felt cozy from the moment I walked in.. though was a little confusing as it was on the second level and I had walked in from the street. And the service was kind throughout my short takeout visit. They accidentally gave me the wrong order, but mistakes happen, and it didn't take away from the overall experience. As soon as I got home I called to hopefully help the other person that would have been affected- and they were truly the nicest about the whole thing! So while I didn't get the Italian sandwich I ordered/wanted, I did get a delicious breakfast burrito instead. You can tell they put care into what they serve. The space itself is the kind of place you want to make plans to be for a long while. Great airy and breezy deck with plenty of plants and a robust WiFi. Order: matcha x matcha cream top (half sweet) & kimchi carbonara pasta Price: $25.87 Overall rating: 4/5 My drink was smooth, creamy, rich with notes of bitter, nutty, dark chocolate. The cream top added the right amount of sweetness to the drink. There were no clumps of matcha and the drink was as smooth like nitro. I really enjoyed the smooth mouth feel and the rich nutty flavor profile! Kimchi carbonara pasta was tangy, creamy, with a hint of spice. The pasta was cooked al dente, not overcooked or undercooked. All the toppings (bacon, sesame seeds, green onions) added saltiness and umami that balanced out the flavor of the sauce. I would recommend street parking if it's available, but there's also free valet with receipt and validation. There's also 2 levels of seating on the patio plus the seating inside of Motiq itself. read more

kimchi pasta was creamy, indulgent, and packed with flavor. not too spicy but pretty heavy bc of the cream based sauce. Lots of kimchi pieces incorporated into the dish. It had some pieces of meat but i couldnt tell exactly what. I want to guess bacon? Also pasta had good texture, sort of al dente! packed the rest to-go and ended up eating it for dinner as well. Avocado toast was loaded with avocado. Bread was a bit tough to cut through. My brother said it was "aight" tho. waters are off to the side if you need it! you order at the counter and theyll let you know when the food is ready. then you just bring back the tray when youre finished. very simple. and there are plenty of seats available. like a large amount of seating inside, outside, and upstairs. its really nice and spacious! and not too loud. most ppl seem to be working on their laptops or having small conversations with friends. read more

Very good matcha almond milk latte! Smooth, available unsweetened, stevia provided. A little heavy on the ice, but I'm sure they'd do light ice if requested. The covered patio is spacious and wonderful to study, work, or hang out on a warm day. The girl at the register was very nice. Clean restrooms and free valet parking, too! read more
such a great spot for drinks, food, getting work done, hanging out, everything really. they had great service on top of that, which adds to the experience. the double matcha was so yummy and had good strength and default sweetness being not too sweet already. the turkey sandwich and the italian one were both so delicious and great portions. there is SOOO much seating but we went on a sunday and it filled up pretty quickly past noon with mostly students studying. inside seating is even tougher to get as pretty much all the outlets are inside - i only saw one outside so :( bonus for the free parking in the garage but it is time-limited (3 hours if i remember correctly) and the spots are also very few read more
went to try Mi Cafe for some studying a few days ago! I parked on the street in a residential area as I got a bit confused where the building was lol, so I am not sure if they have a parking garage inside the building. but keep in mind Mi Cafe is a business inside a large building with other businesses. I walked in a really liked the ambiance and set up, the cafe had some indoor seating with a lot of outdoor seating on the patio too. great space for getting work done (bring some noise-canceling headphones though because it does get loud) or chatting with friends. I ordered the misugaru latte since I saw it was voted best misugaru latte in LA !! It was honestly really good. It wasn't too sweet but also wasn't devoid of sweetness in general, it was just right. I finished it way too fast lol!! the employees were nice and my order came out quickly and looked very presentable. if needed, there are two restrooms inside the cafe. lots of seating, inside was clean, and the girl taking our order was really nice! my boyfriend and i shared the double matcha and the chestnut hojicha. both were pretty lackluster to us and also on the powdery/grainy side. a bit disappointing since there are so many other cafes around, i was really looking forward to trying it maybe next time we'll try different drinks and their food/pastries. parking is also free so that's a plus! read more
Great place to do work or hangout with friends!! Service was great, especially when asking questions about their items. Matcha einspanner was really yummy! Good cream to matcha ratio and the einspanner tasted so delicious on its own. Got some sweet treats. My favorite was the chocolate cake (I think it was under mushroom danish). Great chocolate flavor and texture. Salt bread was nice and warm with a good crunch on the outside and butteriness in the inside. read more
There's seating inside & lots of seating outside. There's a parking lot & limited additional parking across the street, but it's always tough to find parking in KTown. They recently revamped their matcha drinks & it's so much better! I also tried their chicken quesadillas & would recommend their food! read more

I absolutely loved this place! The misugaru latte did not disappoint and neither did the matcha latte with the cream top. There were so many unique items on the menu that I wanted to try so I will most definitely be back! There were a lot of seating and areas to chat with friends, study, or work. Really like the huge patio outside this cafe. On a nice day it is such a comfortable spot to sit outside and get some work done. Staff were friendly, and I was able to find street parking, though they also have an underground garage. I ordered the misugaru latte which was good and slightly grainy, and I liked that they offer many different matcha drink options. Looking forward to trying more next time. read more
Coming in hot, Mi Cafe has been the talk of the town. Their spacious interior and exterior is definitely one of the best spots for coworking, studying, and catching up with friends. I love how large their menu is. Perfectly encapsulating what most cafes lack: good food with excellent coffee and teas! Mi Cafe has it ALL, featuring their range of signature pastas, pastries, and crave worthy matcha cream tops. I loved their Misugaru Latte, the amount of caffeine with a rich black sesame cream top was perfectly balanced. It definitely woke me up lol As for the staff, they are super sweet. They have two gender neutral restroom with keys, and plenty of parking in their lots. I'll have to be back here to try the rest of their entrees. read more
Probably my 4th or 5th time back at Mi cafe. Still a great study spot but it's gotten so popular there's no spots to sit sometimes :(. Their strawberry matcha was so good. The cup was big and it was cheaper and bigger in size than Rok and Stagger. The top was perfectly creamy and it was a strong matcha taste which paired so well with their strawberry syrup on the bottom. Great study spot with coffee and matcha on par with some viral places in ktown. I will definitely be back again for another study session. read more
A very spacious cafe -- which is hard to find in K-town! I visited on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed, lots of folks with laptops and a few large groups just hanging out. I ordered the Matcha Crème, Einspänner, and a Croffle. Everything was decent -- nothing mind-blowing, but enjoyable enough. Best part of this place is the patio and free underground parking. A cute little coffee shop located right in Koreatown. Located in a shopping complex it's a bit tricky to get to. There's a small lot out front and a small underground parking lot but paring in this area is so tricky and nonexistent depending on time of day. I was nearby for a work meeting and decided to give it a try. There were so many folks working on laptops, studying, or chatting with friends it was quite busy for a weekday. There were so staff were super friendly and had a positive attitude. I ordered a latte with almond milk and it was nearly $9. While it tasted good I can't believe how pricey it was. read more

Already loved their food and now obsessed with their drinks too. Their matcha quality is one of the best I've tried and I've tried MOST in LA. Highly recommend their Koi Matcha (their matcha latte that's prepared differently for a more frothy and smooth matcha latte). read more
one of my favorite matcha places in ktown!! delicious food as well portions are pretty big and shareable. the matcha is pretty thick consistency and not watery at all. also a great study spot with a lottttt of seating. good wifi too. very nice staff. overall 10/10 read more
New study spot unlocked! I liked how this place has lots of seating and outlets. I got the misugaru latte since it was their signature drink featured on LA Times. However, I was not a huge fan of it and would get something else next time. I also got the kimchi fried rice which was yummy, but definitely a bit overpriced. I really enjoyed their drinks and pastries! I tried the Misugaru Latte and 2 types of Salt Bread. I've never had a misugaru latte, so it was very unique but stayed true to its misugaru flavor -- a great twist on a traditional Korean drink. The cafe was very big with lots of seating area inside and outside the cafe, which makes for a great studying spot. I would come again to try the other drinks! read more
