1/24/2025: After taking care of some business in the Kern River Valley, hubby decided to drive home through Bakersfield specifically to stop at Mossman's for dinner! The almost-birthday boy wanted fish & chips.. and where else would you go to satisfy that craving? This old school diner outlived the attached bowling alley, and that really says something! Super clean, simple decor and they seem to know everyone's name. What a joy to watch them interacting with all of their regulars! Service was excellent as always, our server was even sweet enough to bring a sample of their house "budget" salad that's often a side to their famous golden fish chunks.. and I just might have to order that on our next visit! They were very busy in the dining room, at the old fashioned counter; in the private party room as well as with drive-up take-out orders. Yes - if you phone in your order and drive up to the front door, they will run your order out to you like a car hop service! Make sure you tip these hard working folks well when they hand you your bag of deliciousness! Once again we enjoyed our meal but weren't able to have dessert afterwards because the portions are just SO generous. They have fresh made cobblers and Texas sheet cakes for dessert for those who do have room. I did order a dozen of those excellent rolls to take home and enjoy. Oh, heavenly carbs! We are in Los Angeles, but I haven't found another place that has better Fish & Chips.. and what a bargain!

Still good as ever. It's no surprise that they've lasted so long. The service is great. Our server was so kind and patient especially with my kids. Once again we ordered the fish and chips and bacon burger and it was so good! But also ordered their Delicious strawberry cobbler and their sheet bread! If you like chocolate then you'll love that sheet cake! But my favorite was definitely the cobbler so sweet and delicious!

We went for the fish but discovered that the chicken was where it was at!! Moist, flaky crust, just plain great! We can't wait to go back for breakfast!!

At first glance, this is an older establishment that has the small town ambiance feeling, and if you want to smell like the restaurant this is the place to go. The service was great and welcoming from all the workers which was nice. As for the food, I got the fish n chips and chicken tenders which came with fries but also a bread roll as a starter! The portion was pretty decent with good fries and good chicken tenders, but the fish n chips fell short for me :(. I was expecting a nice crispy crunch from the batter but it was chewy and did not deliver. I'm not sayin they were undercooked but I feel like I could've had a better bite. Overall: I would have to comeback and give a second chance in the future, coming from my mom she says she has had better fish n chips here but maybe this time they weren't that great.

Came with the family and we ordered three orders of fish n chips. We usually love it here, imo it's better than the coast. Well, this visit was a total miss. The fish was soft and watery inside on all three orders. The bread was different also. It was a total disappointment maybe the new shop off Buena Vista will be a better experience.

    So good it's gone!

As a good Catholic I had fish this Friday and remembered that they had fish and chips here. I ordered over the phone and it was ready in minutes. Got it home and wow was I amazed still hot and delicious. The fish nuggets were so flavorful and the coleslaw was tangy and delicious. Fries perfectly done and the tartar sauce was a great dipping sauce.

As I was walking I saw the sign for this place and was happy I did because my other coffee options were a fast food restaurant or the famous coffee chain. It was a bit confusing to locate. It was tucked away in the back of a commercial office space type building. Once inside the place was very clean and organized. Very minimalist design. I was only one of 4 total people inside. My order was taken quickly. I ordered an iced americano with a ham and cheese turnover. Coffee was on point. No notes. No complaints. The pastry however was not good. They asked me if I wanted it heated up. I said I did. I saw her put it in the microwave, and I assumed they turned it on. When I bit into it (I had already left and walked across the street) it was cold. Like cold cold. On top of that it was flavorless which made it worse. Stick to the coffee or make sure you check the temp of the food prior to leaving.

I would recommend a good cup of coffee at Beanies!

Being driven back from the Grand Canyon having spent nearly a week camping with some awesome people from SJSU, we were informed we were staying at a Super 8 motel overnight to take hot showers and sleep on beds (one week of camping will do that). I had search on Google for coffee nearby and saw this "Bikini Bottom Coffee" shop pop up and yes, I was intrigued of a coffee shop with bikini clad baristas. But it was getting late and we had an early departure for San Jose the next day so I bookmarked this place just in case the free coffee and breakfast offering at the motel did not speak to me (it was terrible...). The morning of the departure, I got up early and it was just a 1-minute walk there and they have two(?) drive by lanes for cars to pull up to order. You can also just walk up to order. Aside from the obvious -- baristas in bikinis taking your order, they have an extensive list of coffee drinks and souvenirs you can buy. Given I need my morning cup of coffee, I opted for the House Blend Bue Coffee and their French toast breakfast sandwich. My verdict? The coffee was alright. I have had better coffee, but given my choice of free (gross) coffee at Super 8 vs my bikini coffee, the latter was a much better solid choice. The French toast breakfast sandwich was heavy with sausage, bacon, and eggs if you are a meat lover. Customer service was excellent so I will give them props for being patient with me while deciding what to order. Overall, it's a good coffee pit stop (if Dutch Bros isn't around) with good customer service vibes (and no, it is not what you think lol).

Not sure what kind of beans they use here but something tells me they're of the Folgers variety. If you're looking for espresso, this ain't the place. I will never understand why places that have "espresso" in the business name, don't take care to make sure their espresso is at very least drinkable.

I wanted to get a feel for what Yemeni coffee is and how it differs from other regional coffees and I did not get that. We ordered a coffee and a matcha and I was able to try and enjoy both. I think it's good coffee and matcha I just didn't understand how their product differed from anything else. It's not bad and I would get it again but I didn't get a feel for the region. I remember when I tried Turkish coffee for the first time and the richness of flavor and strength, Salvadoran coffee and its rich aromatics, Palestinian and its rich nutty textures via spice, but here I was left wondering. Yes, this is a pistachio coffee, but what makes it different? I don't know. Yes, this is a pistachio matcha, but what made it different. Don't know. Good sure, but I can't really describe how it is unique. The baklava, certainly, provided this rich information. Compared to other baklavas it was drier and crunchier in a way that was satisfying and light. I would prefer to eat this baklava if I was watching my sugar and calories, which coincidently I currently am. Other baklavas are more decadent and syrup/sugar heavy. I was left with a want for more out of how light and delicious they are. I hope to try their cake offerings soon! Would return to continue trying their menu and would love to see a no straw option for the lid along with a more sustainable cup!

Their hype was definitely due to the 'aesthetic'. Nothing is really outstanding to me. The drinks are such a let down, the coffee is borderline yuck.. do not recommend. The food is heavily missing flavor, the hummus is disgusting. I can't believe they call that thing hummus, it's an insult to actual dish.. it's almost like it was trying to imitate the real dish, but failed terribly in even attempting to. Their pizza tasted like play-doh and looked very pale. Smitten is at least consistent with one thing, which is their staple: no flavor. One of the breaking points for me was being served food that had someone's HAIR. The restaurant is very expensive for the poor experience they have to offer. I stopped recommending them a long time ago.
