Located on the corner in the old Ruddell's Smokehouse shop, they have some big shoes to fill, and I was happy to see this business giving it a try. Service was quick and friendly, and the burgers hit the spot. These are classic smashburgers made from fresh beef, topped with sliced cheddar, grilled onions, pickles, and sauce on a brioche bun. (Lettuce and tomato are extra.) The burgers were delicious! The only miss for us were the fries -- a bit limp and not quite as crisp as we like. Has a cute little dining area in the corner that my 4 year old really wanted to eat at. They were friendly when we came in and the service was pretty quick. Food came out super fresh and looked great. Basket of fries is pretty pricey at $8, but it is a good portion. The fries themselves though, not very good, stuck together weird flavor and poor texture. Burgers were a great size and looked good. Definitely glad we got the lettuce and tomato for $1 more since the burgers were overcooked and dry. Maybe that's how smash burgers are supposed to be? We are locals in Cayucos and I've been wanting to try Moseys since it opened. We decided to try breakfast first, which has only been offered for a couple of weeks. It was the absolute bomb! Here is what we noticed: - The menu says breakfast is available Thursday through Sunday, which makes total sense for Cayucos. - We ordered the Moseys Burrito and the Morning Smash, and my wife and I split both. I must say, the burrito was one of the best breakfast burritos I've had in a long, long time and has a bit of the Smashburger kind of feel as the eggs, cheese, sausage, and potatoes are all sort of smashed up inside it (without too much potatoes, which is a pet peeve of mine). The Morning Smash was also really great, especially with the thousand island type dressing they served on the side. - You order at the counter, and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. We sat outside at the tables, which was really pleasant. - Prices were excellent, especially considering the size of the portions. Where do I start.....8. Bucks for a "box" ie handful of greasy tasteless fries. I showed them that they were cold. I see the cook roll his eyes when I asked if I could have fresh ones. What you get is completely ala cart. I'm talking a burger and bun. You pay for anything on top of it. I mean anything on top of your over salted dry smash burger. Just make a burger and charge for it. Really bad service. They'll get the tourist business for a bit. Probably a long hard winter for business etiquette like this. Good luck I hope you get better. It's a good burger and at a good price. However, I ordered 2 single burgers and it was $15.02, I only had a $20, she gave me $4.10 and said they were out of coins, disappointed on the service. Good customer service would have given me $5 in change and took the .02 cents out of the tip jar instead of shorting me .88 cents. I changed my rating, the change issue was an isolated incident. I was REALLY hoping this was going to be good--but it disappointed on several levels, and we were only about fifth in line when they opened today, so it wasn't like they were in the weeds when they made our order. First of all, this is the second burger place I've been to in two weeks that call their burgers "smash burgers", but they aren't. In the first case, the burger (as a whole) was so perfectly done that it didn't matter. In this case, there was nothing else outstanding or even redeeming about the burger, so it detracted from the end product. Further, the sauce was flavorless (it's EASY to make a good burger sauce) and the meat had an off flavor--not like it was bad, but maybe like it was grass-fed or some other random flavoring issue. What it didn't have is any kind of char or And it looked like the fries had been either fried in old oil or been double-fried that gave them a dark orangey-yellow look. Double frying itself is not a bad technique if done right, but these fries were too thin to pull that off and they simply died instead of getting crisper. Unfortunately, my theory appears to be holding that tourist-based towns have a lower quality bar simply because tourists as a general rule have a lower expectation of quality and why go above that if you don't have to? We have yet to find reliably good food in Cayucos, Cambria or Morro Bay , but Los Osos, hidden to some degree from the tourism crush, has multiple good options, such as Beerwood, Hazards and Mirazur. read more

The burger was quite honestly the best burger I've ever had. The fries were way too salty, more like salt with a side of fries. But I can easily overlook that because the burger was too good to be true. I would recommend getting the grass fed beef upgrade, but that is completely up to you. Gotta love Mosey's. The service was very inviting and they always treat lady at the front treated you like a friend. If you are on a diet i would only get one patty. The patties are smashed so they are very thin.
