I've been considering trying this place for years, and finally decided to give it a shot because it's popular and came recommended. I ordered an al pastor burrito for about $12, and unfortunately, I was disappointed. The burrito was mostly rice, followed by beans, with only a tiny amount of pork. The pork was made up of small, old, dried-out pieces that tasted bad. There was also a small amount of white onion, cilantro, and cheese. I ate enough to fill me up and threw the rest away. Ironically, the quality was pretty much what I expected it would be, despite the much higher ratings. I've had much better burritos elsewhere. This one was basically tasteless except for a little old-pork flavor, a few bites of fresh white onion, a hint of cilantro, and salt. I did notice some guys eating tacos outside, and those actually looked much better than the burrito I received. Maybe that's the better choice here. read more

We have had a home in Cayucos for many years and had never gotten food at the gas station on the corner...but recently, we walked into town to get breakfast and missed Mosey's breakfast by 30 minutes and the line at Hidden Kitchen was too long, so we decided to try the Cayucos Mini Mart. Boy, are we glad we did because now this place will be on our standard rotation! We waited maybe 10-15 minutes for our food to be ready...they call your name, and it is already packaged ready for "to go". - We took our food over to one of the tables near the recently renovated Vets Hall and ate while enjoying the ocean view. - OMG, was the food amazing! We came in at about 1:30 on a Taco Tuesday - $2.50 tacos. You are asked to wear a face mask, and they provide them as you walk in. All the employees were wearing them.
