Charged almost 10 dollars for an energy drink and electrolyte beverage. Avoid unless you need to get something desperately

Greedy owners, charge twice as much as the stuff is worth. They also charge you to use debit card. And no public bathrooms.

For people visiting Morro Bay for the 1st time from the bigger areas, like LA or the valleys, know…read morethat this store is not only a grocery store with a deli, a Starbucks, a liquor store, a flower shop but also a sundry stop. Like, I raced in for some Cranberry caps a bit back. No separate stop at CVS or Rite-Aid is usually required. It's actually one of my favorite grocery stores pretty much any where. Always clean, their produce is generally excellent, an overall great selection and their service is good.

I'll drive to Ralph's in Los Osos, or speak to the happy smiling employees, at Spencer's. Both times, the cashier did not scan in the discounts. When I pointed it out to her, she looked at me as if I had punched and berated her. a sad sneer,no eye contact, and malevolent body language. it was as if it was my fault! Dang, where do they find these people? I checked my receipt, there was another $3 miss. I took it to the extremely sad and volatile no eye contact ex use for a human being allegedly, in charge. a big sigh, I deserved it, she had been standing there, looking into space. How dare I! I don't hold grudges, but shame on me.....yep, missed every single sale item. My partner took it up to the managerial monstrosity, and she said it wasn't her job to correct the cashier Anyone remember the great Fawlty Towers comedy series? Id get angry with these people, but....its comical. oh, spoke to several people who also cowered for the audacity of pointing out errors, anyhow, you can read it all on Next Door. And yet everyone else in town is so friendly!

5 Stars - A Hidden Gem That Fuels Both Body and Soul…read more Tucked away in the peaceful coastal charm of Morro Bay lies Sunshine Health Store and Cafe -- a true hidden gem and the kind of place every town needs but few are lucky enough to have. Walking in, you immediately feel like you've stepped into a sanctuary. The store side is packed with thoughtfully curated natural Whole Foods, herbs, local wellness brands, and holistic remedies that feel like they were chosen with genuine care. No gimmicks, just the good stuff. Whether you're a health nut or just dipping your toes into mindful living, this place meets you where you are -- with open arms. And then there's the café. Oh, the café. It's not just food -- it's nourishment. The kind that makes you pause mid-bite and go, "Wait, what *is* this magic?" Everything on the menu is clearly made with love -- fresh ingredients, creative plant-based options, vibrant flavors, and the kind of energy you can feel. Smoothies, hearty bowls, wraps, and snacks that leave you feeling energized instead of weighed down. But the real treasure here? The people. You don't just get customer service; you get connection. The staff radiates warmth and passion -- like they're not just selling you health but living it and inviting you to do the same. Sunshine Health Store and Cafe is more than a business -- it's a beacon. A rare blend of nourishment, community, and consciousness. If you're in Morro Bay, don't miss this soul-fueling stop. And if you're lucky enough to be local, this place is a gift you'll never take for granted. Truly, sunshine for the mind, body, and spirit.

I wish I had asked names, so that I could shout them out! One woman, light brown/blonde hair, seemed to be in training, and she was very helpful, the young man helping her, and who also helped my fiancé choose a lobster he has blonde hair, so very helpful! We are out of towners, but will be back! **went back! Fiancé could not stay away from the fresh/live lobster! The names I want to SHOUT OUT are Justin, and Heidi! They are kind and helpful! There was also parking right in front, with no line, which was convenient. I wanted something fried, but when I saw that they use canola oil, I decided to go with the salmon tacos instead. Salmon isn't exactly a local fish, but it's usually a safe bet, especially when it's fresh frozen. I got the salmon tacos, which came as two tacos on two tortillas. The salmon was topped with a little cabbage and tomato, melted cheese, and what seemed to be some onion and cilantro. They also included a small serving of salsa. Overall, they were decent, but not the best salmon tacos I've had. One thing that was a little annoying was that some of the salmon had the dark "bloodline" still attached. I usually scrape that off because I find that part of the fish more bitter and strongly flavored. That's especially awkward with tacos because you're trying to remove it from pieces of fish that are already in the taco. I've had salmon tacos elsewhere where that part had been trimmed off, so there was nothing to deal with. No bones, though. The tacos were a little pricey at just over $20 with tax, but you're in a tourist area and it's California, so that wasn't exactly surprising. They made for a decent meal, and sitting outside was pleasant.

Same great beef jerky from familiar flavors to the more exotic meats. Over the years the staff has been great; welcoming, engaging, and helpful. To name a few jerky options they have .... beef, shark, alligator, ostrich, rabbit, turkey, duck, trout, tuna, salmon, python, elk, boar, boar, buffalo, and kangaroo. I know some of you are intrigued while others are perplexing out.I usually stick to the beef. But I have ventured and bought shark, alligator, and buffalo before. Pliable, softer but not mushy, tasty jerky. Made without MSG, preservatives, or nitrates so alot healthier. Family recipes. They sell in a variety of sizes/pricing and flavors such as black pepper, teriyaki, srirachi, and habanero. Mmm. They also sell novelty candy including chocolate bacon, hot sauces, cold case drinks, snacks, and small gifts (plushies, stickers, cards, etc). The chocolate bacon is one of my go to buys because it's less than $5 and come on... it's chocolate AND bacon, nuff said. The actual shop is in the small shopping plaza on the street side of the three stacks and maritime museum which by the way the museum has outdoor displays and small museum (all free and accept donations). The jerky shop has free parking in a lot with plenty of spaces. Can't stop in the shop in person? Check out their website for their online shop.

I was going to go around them, but then they all went into the store. Only one put his mask on, the other two just waltzed right in. Turned out these were the owner and his buddies, or at the very least someone who worked there. I waited a bit for the air to clear and then went into the store to start to gather my items. I should have just walked away then!! I got through one row and was starting on the second row when I saw one of them go get a soda - with no mask!! He saw me and quickly put on his mask, sort of like an afterthought. I immediately returned the items I had chosen and walked quickly out the door. I will NOT return here, they don't respect the safety of their customers or their workers!! And this during the worst time in the pandemic, where cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are increasing at an alarming rate. They should be ashamed of themselves. Throughout this pandemic I have shopped here several times a week, buying a lot of overpriced goodies. I have probably spent $30-$50 a week here since April. They will definitely notice that they have lost a good customer since I won't be shopping here again. The one star is for the cashiers who are always polite and wear their masks.

I had to go here recently for an unexpected tetanus shot when my dog got into a tizzy and bit me in…read morethe process of trying to rescue him from an accident. Anyhow I proceeded to the pharmacy counter where I assumed I would need to go to get said shot. I had called ahead to confirm they had them in stock and someone was there who could administer the shot. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone was helpful and pleasant but did not think to mention to me that you don't actually need to stand in the very long 45 minute wait line for the pharmacy pick up when getting a tetanus shot just go to the consult window. Well long line lesson learned the hard way here! So I finally proceed to the proper line to get set up for my shot. And then fill out said forms. And give them my insurance card and payment info. They have trouble processing my insurance. Do they call the number on the insurance card for pharmacy staff to use for help? No! They just demand I pay cash price of $81.99 for the shot. So, I looked online and found a coupon from GoodRx that stated they should give me the shot for less ($50) but they refused to accept it. Stated its corporate policy they cannot accept any coupons for vaccines at their stores. I find that interesting since all the pharmacies I've used in the past have never had a problem using these coupons, including other Rite Aid locations! All in all, a terrible experience. And sadly not the first time I've tried getting something thru this same pharmacy location using my insurance which I assure you is perfectly good and able to be used without issue at every one of their local competitors without any problems or even so much as needing a phone call. So what their pharmacy techs are doing here is beyond me. I call it the bait and switch where they do their best to get you to pay out of pocket for stuff your insurance should be paying for. Because the cash pay pricing is way more than my insurance would pay for this item. I of course got my insurance to reimburse ME for the cost I had to pay, but it was a hassle and I should not have had to do so! As a Healthcare professional myself I do know how to do these things with ease but I'm sure most of my neighbors who live here in Morro Bay and use this place regularly do not. It's crappy of the staff here to be so lazy and take advantage of this thinking that people just don't know any better. They are lucky I'm giving the 3 stars I am and honestly that is for the kindness of the Nurse Practitioner who administered the injection and the gentlemen who answered the phone and was so polite and kind and helpful. Otherwise I would give zero stars for the rest of this experience!

I came back to the pharmacy now 1.5 hours after my initial arrival and they still hadn't even started the RX. They were extremely rude and weren't helpful whatsoever.
