I went here to get glasses and I went specifically for special glasses that my concussion specialist doctor wanted me to have. I went in and had my eye exam and that was fine, but it did take forever to see an eye doctor. I sat and waited a very long time. I was allotted so much money to get frames and lenses through work and I didn't realize the special ones that they had ordered from me. It was supposedly just temporary and eventually I could have regular lenses again. Once my motion sensor issues were somewhat solved. I bought a specialty pair of glasses because I wanted beautiful frames and I thought that these were glasses that I was going to keep forever. Well, not forever but you know until my prescription changed. Unfortunately, I didn't know that they would switch the frames out later I mean excuse me lenses. My lenses were blue but after they put the tint on them and put the anti-reflective glare it made the color lighter so I had to go back and get a higher Color on my lens. Again, I had to wait for a really long time so I think my main complaint would be how long I have to wait for everything. My regular eye doctor you may be waiting 10 or 15 minutes and then you're in the door. read more

What's the odds a person orders two pairs of glasses at roughly the same time and after close to four weeks the two come in with issues. One pair the lens need to be recut and the second pair the frame supposedly broke. Sounds like a change in vendors is needed or there's something more going on here. read more

If you don't mind kids that are not trained working with you then go there. I had a prescription filled, the lens fell out and a 18 year old said he would try to put the lens in, it was put in wrong and I kept getting migraines after paying over 100.00 for the lens to be put in a old frame. So then I go to one of their doctors in a different location, and told him I was having problems. I at least he had adults working there, but then, I get charged another $114, I am still having trouble, but it appears you get charged each time you complain. I should have stuck will Penny' s optical dept which I never had a problem with. i won't use Moses eye care again. My prisms are still off centered. If you don't mind kids in high school doing your exams go there. read more

On 10/27/23, my first appointment and I thought everything went pretty well. The optician examined my eyes and gave me my prescription and trial lenses. I wore them for a couple days. They were not working for me at all. I called there and told them I wanted to go back to my prescription from the prior year. Got a couple trial boxes and before leaving I noticed that the boxes were marked wrong. Brought it to their attention. They re-labeled them correctly, but it happened on two different occasions because I had to go back for more trials due to my order being delayed or lost or something. I ordered a 6-month supply from Moses in Hammond, IN on 11/8/23. I was told it would take about 7 days (which is quite ridiculous). Anywhere else you can get them in 2-3 days. Now it's 11/15/23. Still no lenses. I call again on 11/17/23 to find out where my order is and they cannot even track it. I ask for more trials to help me through the next week. They can't get them till 11/21/23. At this point, I have no lenses. I am beyond frustrated. I will never go back to Moses Eye Care again. read more

I went to Moses Eyecare Center in Griffith. I have vision insurance that covered my contact exam and contacts. However, I was told because their system was down that I needed to pay for the visit which I did. I was told that I would be refunded the amount once it went through billing. Well, 2 weeks later I'm still trying to get my money back. Last week, I was told an amount that my refund will be. I was't happy and ask to speak with someone in billing and was refused. 1 hour later, I recieved a call from Alison from billing. She was extremely rude and uncaring. Alison even offered me less then the amount that was offered before. This is a total clap into my face. Went see Dr.Gross. I told the first girl who attended me the problems I was having with my vision. Told her I was just diagnosed with pre-diabetic blood sugar. My vision was blurry at a distance. Even with my glasses. I told Dr Gross the same thing. He did his exam and told me absolutely nothing! That was the purpose of seeing him. Anyway long story short I will not use his " services" ever again. I went to Illinois Eye Institute. They were far more attentive than Dr Gross. They gave me some answers and put my fears to rest. I used the same Eyecare Center in Illinois for the past 20 year! I moved to Indiana 6 years ago, last year I decided that I would give Moses a chance to earn my business and support my community! My glasses broke after having them for 6 months and I called numerous times leaving voice messages which They claim they never receive. I even showed up in person and they promised the would see how they could fix my glasses or replace them! These people lied and stalled so much that after 3 months of trying to resolve the issue, I gave up! They kn my frame was obsolete and they did not want to carry the cost of replacing their defective product. I had to tape my eye glasses for 3 months until my insurance kicked. read more

First, my insurance company didn't have me as a customer. The front desk ladies called and cleared that up in record time! They are always smiling! Great welcome. Second, Dr. Jen was so amazing! She was fast but didn't rush you. Very organized and such a happy person! Lastly, "Poppe" the very knowledgeable woman that helped me with choosing my glasses. She was like talking to family. My first couple of years at Moses were not the greatest experience; however, they have completely made up for that today. I went in with an outside Rx, and they still treated me wonderfully. Stephanie helped me with my frames and pricing, and she was super friendly and easy to work with. Their pricing was over half less of what I was going to pay elsewhere; this included better designer frames and better lenses than the other facility I was going to get glasses from. They were busy and still helped me right away with no troubles. I know from my history here that Jennifer is a GREAT doctor and as of today, I am extremely impressed with the staff in the front. read more

"Do NOT go here unless you are not picky about your vision. If you have had a TBI, go elsewhere. She made an rx for me the first time; however, the second time, as my vision began to become uneven, she apparently didn't like me requesting extra time or asking questions. When I went in to make a third appointment, she told the receptionist she wouldn't see me. What? Why? No explanation was given by her face to face.This was unprofessional. Perhaps she ought to have told me that her time was limited after the second visit. The same week as my walk-in request, I notice a BIG advertising board on highway 30, near St. John with her picture. I deduce that Moses thinks she is special, and is probably giving her more important tasks to do, and/or a larger amount of clients. She didn't want to make glasses for time-wasting me. I went in for a contact lens fitting and an exam. The Dr. Kawa was unfriendly, hurried and kind of cold. She didn't even have me put on a pair of contacts to see if I knew how to put them on, or to see if they fit my eyes. I was given samples and told to wear them when I was ready to. However, I was given a box of lenses that expired 2 months ago. The assistant didn't bother to check them or just didn't give a damn! Everything I have learned about soft contacts tells us to never wear expired lenses because it could give you a bad eye infection or worse. There's no excuse for this complete negligence! I had to make a special trip over there and waste my time and gas to get it resolved. I wasted 17 minutes waiting for a replacement box just to be told that they were out of them. I then was asking the blonde hair woman with glasses at the counter who was the #1 boss and owner of these centers and it was like pulling teeth to get an answer,as I had to ask multiple times. Finally, I was told to come back again (3rd time) to get my samples, which should never happen a decent eye center. There was no apology, just unprofessional indifference! Before I left, I told the blonde woman "ok, thanks", and received no response. This was my first time dealing with a Moses eye center, and it was very poor! They do have new owners, and as soon as I can reach them, I will let them know of my experiences. There's too much competition out there to settle for poor and potentially dangerous treatment, especially with the high costs. Again, buyer beware! read more

I ordered safety glasses and they told it would take two weeks, after two weeks rather than Moses Eyecare contact me to tell me they were not available, I had to call them several times only to get an indirect answer after about the the 4th call they called and told me it will be another 7 days so I am looking at about a month and some days, also I've noticed they have no one of color working in their store , no diversity so this may bleed into how they deal with others who are different, just a thought, I will not be returning after I receive my glasses whenever that may be read more

I am very grateful to have my state aid insurance after going without any insurance for nearly 15 years. I have never been made to feel any differently from any doctor until today when I had an appointment at Moses Eye Care. They would not help me pick out any frames just pointed me over to the spindle the rack by the door and told me to pick out what I liked. While all the other frames that I seen in the office were encased in glass and lights. I felt like I was back in school When I was the only kid who couldn't afford designer jeans and Nike tennis shoes. I seen other clients being helped and being told what look good on them and I was just pointed in the direction they wanted me to go. Disgusting. These people should be ashamed of themselves. Absolutely horrible customer service. Messages are never returned but they will text you to come in for an appointment. They screwed up my glasses, told me they had ordered another pair and would call when they came in. I had to call them after TWO MONTHS passed. I fell asleep with my glasses on. The glasses ended up getting mangled during the night and I awoke to bent frame without lenses. My daughter did her best to patch them up well enough for me to drive. I was certain that they were beyond repair. I ended up at Dr. Jen's office. Savannah and Karissa worked diligently for around an hour and restored them to like new condition. Absolutely remarkable. Customer service far exceeded my highest expectation. Where do I start? The doctors are great, but the staff are really unprofessional. My new glasses were the wrong prescription, and the receptionist said it was my fault, that I must have gave wrong answers during the test. I ended up getting new ones, no charge. This review does not reflect service from the doctors at Moses because the staff answering the phone (when they finally did pick up) are so incompetent, I couldn't even make an appointment. My first 4 attempts over 3 hours went to voicemail. Then, when I got Cameron on the phone, she asked me to hold and hung up on me. The next person I finally managed to talk to put me on hold to track Cameron down. I asked if they could make the appointment and she said, "we're all too busy." After 14 minutes on hold, I gave up. If the service is this pathetic just trying to make an appointment, I can only imagine how bad it must be in person. I will take my business elsewhere. *Note- I worked as a manager in optics for over 9 years, doing everything from scheduling appointments, pre-op, making glasses, sales and dispensing. I know how busy and chaotic it can be, especially this time of year. I tried to be understanding, but it should not take over 3 hours to make an appointment. I have been going to the Merrillville office now for several years and they have treated me with courtesy and respect. I have not waited long to see the doctor, and the one time that I did have a bi of a wait, EVERYONE was apologetic, the doctor as well! My exam was professionally taken care of and even though I I didn't find frames I liked at the Merrillville office, once I picked them out in Winfield, IN, they texted me they were ready. Worst customer service I've ever experienced! They had me wait in a room for over an hour to see the doctor. The front desk staff was very rude. The doctor ordered my contacts and asked if I would come back in a week to get fitted. They called me an hour before my appt to cancel because staff said the contacts never came in. I came back the week after and was seen by Dr. Jen. She told me completely wrong information on all the prices and was extremely out of sorts the entire visit. I finally decided it would be best to no longer deal with Moses Eye care. I went to another place and when I handed them my glasses prescription I was told it there was no way it could be correct!!! Moses Eye Care gave me a blank prescription!!! I just got off the phone with the 'manager' (who's cellphone was going off during our conversation, so unprofessional!) and she said," sorry I'll send you the right one through email." She said there was nothing they could do for my inconvenience. I've never dealt with so many incompetent people!!! I would NEVER suggest this place to anyone!!! What a terrible experience. I got my glasses FINALLY after 3 1/2 weeks. I'm happy with them. I guess my problem with Moses Eyecare Center is that after the promised two weeks, there was absolutely no communication from them. I did all the calling. I think that after the two week time frame, Moses Eyecare Center should reach out to the patient, keeping them informed with the process of the eyewear. Glasses are very expensive, and I felt that Moses had an almost, "Oh well, when they come in, they'll come in" attitude. read more

I was happy with Moses for my first visit ever with them. 5 months after my first visit and 3 visits later, out of know where, I received a bill in the mail and I was completely taken aback. I was told that one of my visits was considered a "medical expense" and needed to go through my medical insurance. Now, I don't have a problem with that, what I have a problem with is it took them months to figure it out. When I went in for an exam that same month they had no problem figuring out what my eye exam deductible was, why would it take so long to figure out my medical benefits? I know for a fact the medical investigation benefits can take a couple of weeks, but months?! And to send me a bill in the mail five months later? Completely unprofessional and clearly the billing department is in desperate need of some training. read more

Beware as they will schedule an appointment with you and cancel you last minute after you have called off of work an hour before you have to come in. I have been lied to and this business is performing shady business tactics denying you your prescription so I can take my business elsewhere. Absolute worst service (both locations Crown Point and Winfield) will never go back, takes forever to order you have to call back often to remind them that you have an order. I have been visiting Moses for 5 years and I absolutely love it!! The Crown Point location has a wide variety of frames to choose from (which is great because my husband is very picky!) and their staff were very helpful with choosing glasses!! My husband somehow ran over his glasses and needed them asap. I explained this to them and they said they would rush his glasses and try to get them back as quickly as they could!! I had cataract surgery and I was told I might need to have my eyes checked that I might need glasses to for reading after wards so I went to Moses Eye Care they tested my eyes and said I needed glasses they made them when I picked them up I couldn't see out of them they oh just take them home and try them for awhile I explain to them I wore glasses for 20 years I no what it takes to get use to glasses .I can't see out of these .Well they wouldn't do any thing about it . I waited and kept calling back finally they made me app. with a different Dr there .Only to have him yell at me not even look at my eyes or glasses .I call wanting to talk to a manager no call back .Called and want to get ahold of a area manager she called back and said she would look into this never to call me back So now t have to use a magnafing glass / hold my phone and try to type things into my phone I need three hands to do this I called my insurance company they won't pay for me to go someone else until next year .Even the Dr that did my surgery was up set I didn't get the care I needed. I'm on disability or I would just go some where else .But in the long run you hurt your own name because I have to deal Doctors insurance / and a eye specialize and they all no what you did to me and when people see me get out my magnifier to read they all ask where I got my checked so I tell my story .I also have a sore on my nose where I told they didn't fit again didn't do anything about it .Once in awhile I put them only to hope with my prayers they will work and still no luck now I have dry eyes and that is due some from the strain I have to use drops a couple times a day .I would say stay away from any company that don't stand behind there work and don't take a persons eye first .I have never posted a blog or did a review on a company in my life but I don't want anyone to go threw what I am .And talk about a valued customer or that customer is always right NOT A MOSES Beware read more
