Really cool Turkish place in oceanfront! You know I would've never realized that there would be one here, especially by the beach. We got the Turkish coffee with chocolate, which was an amazing drink to wind down because it's way too hot to drink in Wingo lol. We also got the tea, which was nice and very very hot. And we've got the lamajun, which is like their Turkish flatbread. Definitely worthwhile to go, especially it's in the middle of the oceanfront. read more

Great variety of food options from breakfast to lunch. We ordered the egg and cheese sandwich with turkey bacon and the Mosaic Pide--both were really good. As someone who doesn't eat pork, I appreciated the peace of mind knowing it wouldn't be served by mistake. The restaurant has a cute atmosphere, and I liked the touch of Arab-style seating, though the chairs could be a bit more comfortable. What an amazing food experience very close to the beach. My husband and I decided to try something different and we found this great Turkish restaurant thanks to Yelp after visiting the aquarium. We ordered the platter for 2 which was plenty of food for both of us and also my very hungry toddler. My husband ordered the Turkish coffee (which he said was very authentic and brought him back to his time living in Turkey). Our server was so kind and attentive and even prepared a special coffee that was not on the menu for me since I'm not a huge fan of strong coffee, - it was so so good! The food was delicious, the service was amazing and even though my somewhat feral toddler was at times crawling around the booth, they were so understanding and helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant for those who want to try something different and delicious (they also have an American menu -burgers, pizza, smoothies, etc.) l. My only recommendation to the owners is perhaps to get a high chair that it's lower so babies/toddlers are at the same level of the tables that way they can eat as well. Also, idk if we got lucky or the timing was great but we were able to park a block and a half away, a maybe 3-4 minute walk on the street for free. read more

This was was so good! We stumbled upon it after two unsuccessful attempts to eat somewhere else. Third place was a charm! The staff was really nice and sweet. The Turkish are always welcoming and these folks carried on the tradition. My husband and I spit the Mosaic Pide. It was fantastic! Chewy with just the right amount of crunch. We added a little of the hot sauce for some extra kick and it made it even better. My son had the Mosaic Burger and fries. He loved it! He said he figured it was better than any place he wanted to eat at first. We also had the hummus. We had extra and were able to snag some extra pita when we carried it out. This place is not safe for people with tree nut allergies. We asked about cross contamination and the server assured us that it was safe, however soon after eating the chicken kebab my friend went into anaphylactic shock and we had to take her to the ER. Nothing in the kebab platter should have nuts or is described to have nuts, no extra sauces or hummus was ordered. Still they assured us there would be no contamination, and still she was sent to the ER. The food is delicious, however I would not trust the servers to know what is in their food, nor whether it is cross contaminated. They should either say they cannot ensure it will be safe, or do the proper measures and use separate equipment to prepare food and honestly do that. read more

My friend found this place scoping out places to get desserts and hang out. It's located on Atlantic Avenue on the strip. So parking can be a bear to find. The inside decor is confusing, because it has western rustic cabin style furniture/seating mixed with pretty middle eastern/Mediterranean lights and decor. It's a huge space with plenty of seating. To the right when you enter is the counter where you order your food and pay. Once you pay they provide a table number for you to sit and they bring the food to you. I would have preferred to seat myself or have had the choice of choosing where to sit. We ended up grouped next to other tables already occupied. I'm thinking this was done to make it easier to serve the food? We were astonished by the massive menu they offer. I honestly didn't browse further than the desserts and drinks because I found it overwhelming. The tea options looked pretty good. I didn't choose any Mediterranean desserts because I was more in the mood for something chocolatey. But the smoothies and other fruit drinks sounded and looked divine. The mosaic milkshake was good, but not phenomenal. Honestly, you can't go wrong with peanut butter, bananas and chocolate unless of course you don't like any of those things or are allergic to it. However, I don't feel the shake warranted an $8 price tag. I know I've paid $15 before at the Yard milkshake bar, but that diabetes in a mason jar tasted really good and basically had mini cakes and extras added to it. My sister later ordered some Turkish coffee. The presentation was pretty cool. I loved how it's served on a silver tray with chocolate that looks like tiny colored rocks and in a dainty cup. The presentation alone is worth it. My other friend had the mangonada. It's a nice clean space with a lot of options, but I think because it's located at the oceanfront, the prices are on the higher side. It's a better choice and reprieve from the other touristy eateries on the strip. I would be willing to go back and try their entrees if I'm at the oceanfront or if it's during the off season. I personally am not a fan of going to the oceanfront due to the lack of parking and busyness. The oceanfront is just too chaotic and not relaxing for my taste. But if you're staying at a hotel on the strip or at the beach, anyway, definitely give it a try! PARKING: We opted to save time and just park at the lot across from peabody's. I wouldn't recommend parking there unless you plan to stay a good portion of your day at the oceanfront because it costs $10. If you can I recommend either finding meter parking/street parking or biking there if you live in the vicinity or happen to have your bike. If you're staying at the hotels on the strip, just walk to it. read more

I loved Turkish food when I was in Ankara and after talking about Turkey I decided I wanted Turkish. Mosaic happened to be right around the corner and I'm so glad! I ordered the Adana shish kabab which has lamb and beef. After the initial confusion over my order they brought my lamb and it was delicious! Seasoned perfectly, spicy, with traditional yogurt sauce on the side to cool the tongue. If you're in Virginia Beach I highly recommend Mosaic for the Adana! I also had the chicken kabob, provided by accident, but it didn't come close in taste to the seasoned Adana! If you're not a spicy person maybe the chicken kabab is for you I highly recommend a visit. read more

Welcome to an eatery like no other with a taste of Turkish food fare. From the outside you are greeted with colorful menus beckoning you inside as you discover the menu. There are plenty of options to choose from. The interior is magical with colorful lanterns, ornately decorated tapestry, and Turkish drinkware on display. The menu is large and just as bright at the ordering counter. I ordered a mosaic omelet, one pancake, and a Turkish coffee. My partner ordered a pizza combo with a canned coke. Be mindful that since the food is made fresh it'll take a moment. So don't come hungry. The wait was a little bit long, but not too too bad. The coffee came out in a tray and has three (3) servings per carafe. There is no sugar or creamer for it on the tray. You'll have to get the liquid creamer half and half by the utensil area. They should offer a cup to pour and take it back to your seat or give you a small cup of milk with your coffee. When I took the creamer bottle to my table, a server came by to pick it up and put it back before I could pour some on my second cup. The omelet was really good. It came with half bread that was sliced. I would hope they consider changing the side or you choose a side with the omelet. It was an ok side, but only ate one slice. However, the omelet was great!! The pizza was well made and quite cheesy. The only drawbacks are that the customer service was okay. Could have been a bit more friendlier, welcoming. The menu is all day and there are no kebab options. They will serve your food to you and yell out your number. So wave and they'll bring it to your table. I saw a server drop and bottle of cleaner and wipe it up off the ground with a dish towel. The same dish towel from the ground was also used to wipe down the table. So that was quite a surprise. It really had a chilled-out ambiance that we thoroughly enjoyed! The gentleman serving us was very sophisticated, very reserved, and aced in hospitality. We ordered Kenefe; this was our first one to try, and therefore, we do not have anything to compare it with---but gosh, it was tasty!!! A friend of mine suggested this place. Our first criteria was to find halal food. We ordered 2 kinds of pizza, 1 pita, chicken wings and tenders. All were delicious, tasty and hearty. The environment was inviting, authentic and comfortable. The prices were acceptable, I mean it wasn't expensive. We went back the next day for breakfast. Again, every item on the breakfast menu was so delicious. The staff was so friendly, helpful and attentive. I loved their hospitality and friendliness. The service was fast enough. The food was very good! I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant with the beautiful Turkish lamps and the upholstery of the seats. Getting to the two star rating...we were served by a man who I really tried to give the benefit of the doubt to, assuming maybe he was just shy. Only acknowledged my brother and would not refer to me for anything. I overlooked this. I ordered baklava and when it was ready he brought out a plate of sample of different kinds and said he brought that instead...not what I ordered and was more expensive. Again I overlooked it and was friendly. Then finally I tried to make a little bit of small talk and he was still rude and only acknowledged my brother, asking him if he enjoyed the food and what he liked and ignoring me. I really wanted to love this restaurant as I was starstruck by the decorations but I really was bummed with the treatment I received. I left a 25% tip nonetheless with a smile because as a server I just feel it's the right thing no matter what, but I would not recommend to anyone who is a female. Would not return ever. read more

What a great little find! Interesting decor with a mixture of cabin living and middle eastern decor. Came here in search of post dinner drinks and snacks. My friends and I were not disappointed! I immediately gravitated to the mosaic milkshake: dreamy combination of chocolate, banana and peanut butter. Very heavy on the peanut flavor but you won't here me complain! I also tried their dolma which was a cold version of stuffed grape leaves. Very yummy! My husband had the mangonada which has mango chunks, mango sorbet chili and tamarind candy. I finally had a chance to dine at Mosaic and I hate to say it, but it knocked back my enthusiasm a bit. To my knowledge this is one of the only spots you can find some of the items on their menu in Coastal Virginia and certainly at the Oceanfront. It kills me to give them only three stars for this reason, but I'm struggling to say I'll be rushing back when I live within walking distance. I really wish they would knock the touristy/western food off the menu and just focus on the Turkish cuisine that makes them unique. However in their prime spot on the boardwalk I can see how that might be too risky of a move. The menu is absolutely massive, I recommend looking at it ahead of time to at least narrow down what you are in the mood for. I wanted to try a little of everything, only having a latte during my previous visit. We got the corn in a cup, moasic pide, and Turkish coffee with ice cream. The Turkish coffee with ice cream was probably my favorite part of the meal. Unfortunately ordering it at the table keeps you from seeing it prepared on the sand. I also think I saw her scoop the grounds and just pour coffee from a pre-made container instead of brewing it for real. I didn't have a good vantage point though, so I could be wrong on that. From my understanding sugar is traditionally added during the brewing process of Turkish coffee. This definitely tasted unsweetened, aside from the sugar from the ice cream. I guess you can argue I clearly didn't want authentic since I ordered it with a scoop of ice cream, but I'm still not convinced. We went for pide (turkish pizza) wanting to see how it would compare to the dozens of pizza spots on the boardwalk and hoping to enjoy this turkish street food. At $15 I am glad it was enough to share with an appetizer. What we got wasn't pide. This was a thin crust small oval pizza. The edges didn't even pretend to be folded up as pide should be. Maybe they forgot? I see another picture where it was made correctly so maybe they just don't care in the off season. Putting aside my disappointment that I wasn't trying something unique to the other businesses in the area, it was a pretty good pizza. Not something I would order again at $15 since there wasn't anything that made it better than what $15 can buy you in a near by pizza shop. Then the corn in a cup. Wow. This was pretty bad. Parmesan cheese instead of cotija just didn't work for me. There was so much mayonnaise and just one shake of spice. After about four bites it was just corn swimming in mayo with no other flavor. Yikes. Go to Pelons for good elote at the Oceanfront. Garlic and cilantro may have helped with more seasoning mixed in with the mayo ahead of time... maybe. So yeah, I'm a little disappointed. Maybe my hopes were too high and maybe they just don't care now that Labor Day has passed. I'll try it again since there are a few other dishes I can't find anywhere else in VB, but won't be repeating this order. read more

I was there and to the begging the waitress was really nice person. I ordered eggs with some kind of Turkish sausage and pancakes, I finished the egg, decent flavor. When I was starting my pancakes the waitress come to me asking me to pay my check, I've been in other places where they left the check and the table and wait for you to be ready to pay, but she stays next to me until I'd gave her the money, I was alone and I don't see nobody else in other tables paying checks in the middle of their meals, I'd even told her I didn't even finished. She don't care, such a RUDE service, they need a class about how to offer Hospitality in costumers, the food is not that bad but it could be better and the relationship between price and food isn't worthy.
