Morton's in Great Neck is all about that Long Island fine dining experience. It starts with the valet parking all the way through dessert, they make you feel special with the top notch service. The space feels like a modern steakhouse, combining old school and new. Dim lighting and a classy atmosphere, but the furniture is modern and looks brand new. For the food, my filet mignon cut was prepared nicely. The medium rare temperature was spot on, and the taste was great. The sides were good, maybe a bit heavy on the salt though. We tried a few between asparagus, spinach and mushrooms, and a loaded baked potato. They went well with the meat entrees, but didn't hold their own in terms of standout flavor. I don't eat at steakhouses that often (1-2x yearly?), but would definitely come back here for a red meat splurge and for the excellent service. read more

My husband, a dram of Lagavulin (healthy pour-thank you) and for me a very dirty Belvedere martini with three blue cheese stuffed olives. It was perfect. Our party arrived and we were seated. Water was poured, drink orders taken, and menus individually handed out. I can't say enough about the friendly Service from the hostess to the bartender to the server at our table and everyone who came around. Absolutely friendly and helpful. We had a few bone in ribeyes and a small fillet mignon plus sides of mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The meat was flavorful and cooked perfectly, medium rare, great char on the outside, not a dry bite in sight. The mashed potatoes were delicious and we actually ordered a second bowl of creamed spinach. We liked it all very much. We had delicious glasses of Bordeaux, and two old-fashioneds, which were made perfectly. Came to Morton's on Super Bowl Sunday and had such a great experience. We were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday and they were able to accommodate us with a private room, which made the night even better because we could watch the game comfortably while still having our own space. The restaurant itself is massive, with a really nice atmosphere and overall mood. It felt upscale but still fun and social. They also have valet parking, which was super convenient. I definitely want to come back again to try more items on the menu because I really loved the vibe and the experience overall. We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday at Morton's Saturday October 3rd. The food was excellent and the service was so incredibly good. We hadn't mentioned his birthday but our server picked up on it and brought him a dessert with a candle and took a picture of the group and presented it to my husband who was thrilled . The ambiance was great and the server was excellent, who took note of my shellfish allergy and made sure the chefs/kitchen knew about the allergy. Came here for a birthday dinner. Upon sitting down, they bring out this huge onion bread. It is absolutely DELICIOUS and SO soft! They give a really big size of butter for it as well. For dinner, we split the 22 ounce ribeye. It was absolutely delicious as well. We got it cooked medium well and it wasn't red inside, but it was very smooth and the knife cut right through it. It was very juicy and had great flavor. We also got the mashed potatoes with sour cream. They were AMAZING. We also ordered fries which were equally as great. Service was great. Tried Morton's for the first time for Father's Day. We started out with their delicious bread! To die for. It literally melts in your mouth. We ordered the 2XOsOld Fashioned. It was sweet, but, absolutely delicious! It definitely creeps up on you, so be careful! We did the Father's Day menu. We started with the Neuske Bacon Crispy Rice, my only gripe about this was the portions were so small. I am used to getting a full thick cut piece of bacon at steakhouses, but, this was only 3 little pieces. The bacon was good but I would have preferred the old way they used to serve it (from seeing old posts about it). For our entrees we got the NY Strip steak and the Ribeye. Both were delicious! Cooked exactly to out liking. We also had a loaded baked potato and the parmesean and truffle fries. Both were delicious as well. For dessert we had the hot chocolate cake and the Liberty Cake. The Liberty Cake was phenomenal, cheesecake in between strawberry cake with something similar to the strawberry shortcake ice cream pops we ate as kids. Overall a wonderful experience. Came for my Aunties birthday with reservations on a Friday night. We were seated a back room and it was pretty busy with many large tables. Service was pretty slow, I felt like there was only one server, maybe two for that room. We had to wait a while for our dessert and check. They seemed overwhelmed. The food was okay, our Tomahawk was supposed to be medium rare, came out medium and the cuts were super thick and not seasoned very well. Filet mignon was over cooked the same way. I've been to several Morton's during my travels. This was my first visit to the Great Neck, NY location and it is absolutely my favorite. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and had a round of drinks at the bars before the meal. The bartender made perfect Old Fashioneds and Margaritas for us - superb! When we were seated at our booth, Sardi took wonderful care of us. The jumbo lump crab cakes are the best I've had outside of Maryland. I thoroughly enjoyed the lobster tail and filet mignon - so fresh and cooked perfectly to temperature. The Ora king salmon was also excellent, as were our sides of roasted asparagus and sour cream mashed potatoes. Dessert was a molten' chocolate cake a la mode (delicious!) and key lime pie (amazing). We make our annual trek here, usually for Hubs' birthday. When you order a medium rare cut of meat here, it will be exactly that: edges crisp and center a crimson-hued pink. Appetizers are delicious too, and it is recommended to try the variety if you are with a large party. We've ordered the gamut of items, from the Ocean seafood tower to the Tomahawk to the chocolate lava cake... everything We've had has been as expected. (Speaking of which, if you are with 2-3 adults, try ordering the tomahawk steak if you've never had it before. It's a sight to behold; the meat is pre-cut, and the presentation is impressive. ) Every item we ordered has come out consistent and expected of a high-end restaurant. I noted it was our anniversary and they went all out with an amazing, secluded table, with a sign that said happy anniversary, even after I modified my reservation 3 times. Seated and waiter gave us menus and waited 15 minutes for him to return for drink menu. A table who was seated after us already got their bread and put in their order. Finally waiter returns, we put in our order and I had to ask for bread. Everyone ordered apps ( 2 shrimp cocktail, french onion soup, bacon, wedge salad. 2 expresso martinis come and tasted like they were missing something. Ordered Tomahawk steak for the table (wasn't that big) Husband and son said it was tasty though. The waiter bringing out the food was just plooping it on the table - very rushed. We had to redistribute everything. Two filet mignons were good not great. Ordered many sides. Was missing the potato au gratin - waiter said it will be out shortly. I came out 15 minutes later when I was just about done eating. Wasn't that tasty either. I didn't not say anything but he did take it off the bill. Desserts were excellent except with plooping them on the table - in a rush. My husbands coffee and creme brulee were left on the edge of table - can't make this up. lol. Our bill was about $700 - did leave a good tip - don't think I will return. I have been to many other Steakhouses and thought I'd give Morton's a try. Last night at dinner with my family for my MIL birthday and we happened upon this. After reading this it was clear I needed to give this awesome deal a shot. Started with the wedge salad which was phenomenal with the crumbled blue cheese, cherry tomatoes, crumbled bacon bits and top shelf blue cheese dressing. Next up was a 6 oz medium rare filet mignon which was juicy, tender and downright phenomenal . I paired it with the garlic mashed potatoes which were creamy, buttery and velvety smooth. Me and 2 other Friends decided to the bubbles and bites. Let's start off with the female server at the area. Very straight face. We really didn't feel welcomed. She took our orders. We ordered additional appetizers and cream spinach. She specifically asked if the spinach would come out with the apps or meal. I advised with the apps. We get the apps no spinach. By the way it took about 25 mins for the apps. When she finally came to check on us I told her the spinach never came. I automatically assumed she would make sure it came with the meals, but it didn't. What was the end? There was a male server helping and I felt like he was a little bit rushy. Before asking, if we wanted anything else, he automatically assumed we were ready for the check. I wanted to order an additional drink, but it took so long for someone to come to the table. I said forget it. I didn't notice that the table behind us into the left was getting frequent check ups. We received the check and the spinach was still on there. When I advised the man of this, no apologies just OK I'll take it off. I didn't notice when he went back to the register. The lady that originally was helping us was standing there. I'm not sure what he said to her, but she shrugged her shoulders. That turned me completely off. I will not be returning back to this location. The service was horrible. The food was mediocre. A family across from us brought in a small animal ( tiny dog ) to the tables ( not a service animal at all!)The dog was on the table & passed on to other patrons, finally put on the floor , & yipped during our meal . I thought it would be cooked so i can rest this year. but had to cook everything for at least 45 minutes and it took time because my oven doesn't fit everything at once. Shout out to our server, Christian, at Morton's who made our special occasion dinner truly memorable! Yelp reviews need to be taken with a grain of salt since it's based on a person's experience or several visits. However when you read the reviews which varies from one extreme (eh) to the other extreme (excellent), you have to ask what is going on. I haven't been to this location though I have been to the ones in the city so I had a certain level of expectation. In this case, we had excellent service. The valet took our car, which is free (don't forget the ticket or to tip the valet before or after). We walked in and checked in with the hostess, who brought us to the table with the menu. The menu had a more generic message instead of the specific occasion. I am still touched by the effort. Christian introduced himself. First thing I asked is the souffle available (it wasn't on the menu but figured if you don't ask you won't know). Unfortunately, it's not available however if we are interested in the hot chocolate cake, let him know during the entree. The cake takes time to bake so he can put in the request. We received the warm onion bread with butter. It's delicious as usual. We ordered the following: Appetizers: - Bacon Steak (2): this is a must get! - SRF Wagyu Meatballs: it's a bit dry for me but don't forget this is American Wagyu. Entree: 42oz porterhouse steak - was standard. Garlic Butter (extra charge) Side: The Troy: sauteed mushroom and onions - couldn't stop eating this... Surprisingly really good mushrooms.
