Came to Morton's on Super Bowl Sunday and had such a great experience. We were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday and they were able to accommodate us with a private room, which made the night even better because we could watch the game comfortably while still having our own space. The restaurant itself is massive, with a really nice atmosphere and overall mood. It felt upscale but still fun and social. They also have valet parking, which was super convenient. I definitely want to come back again to try more items on the menu because I really loved the vibe and the experience overall. Third update and there is not much more I can say other than I have been a regular at Mortons for about 30 years now and I have nothing but great things to say about them. I could write a book on everyone of my great experiences in GReat Neck as well as the dozens of Morton's we have visited around the country as well as the unbelievable team members I have had the opportunity to laugh with and watch grow up. Mortons is not just a restaurant, it's a dining experience. I have never had anything less than a great experience dining here and enjoying the fabulous food. This place is slow just slow for this pace I would expect the food to be Gordon Ramsey level but no it was like any other restaurant. Our family came to celebrate a family member's recent engagement. The ambiance was great and the server was excellent, who took note of my shellfish allergy and made sure the chefs/kitchen knew about the allergy. The dry-aged ribeye was great, soft, moist, flavorful. The cream spinach was good, but not as great as some others I've tried at other steakhouses. The dessert coffee had some alcohol in it that you could barely taste with excellent cream on top and the perfect dessert coffee size! Came here for a birthday dinner. Upon sitting down, they bring out this huge onion bread. It is absolutely DELICIOUS and SO soft! They give a really big size of butter for it as well. For dinner, we split the 22 ounce ribeye. It was absolutely delicious as well. We got it cooked medium well and it wasn't red inside, but it was very smooth and the knife cut right through it. It was very juicy and had great flavor. We also got the mashed potatoes with sour cream. They were AMAZING. We also ordered fries which were equally as great. Service was great. Ambiance beautiful and fancy. Dress code enforced, business attire. Valet parking. I've been to the Morton's in the city, and if it is a birthday/anniversary event, they would take our photo and then give it to us in a little card. Service was pretty slow, I felt like there was only one server, maybe two for that room. We had to wait a while for our dessert and check. They seemed overwhelmed. The food was okay, our Tomahawk was supposed to be medium rare, came out medium and the cuts were super thick and not seasoned very well. Filet mignon was over cooked the same way. I've been to several Morton's during my travels. This was my first visit to the Great Neck, NY location and it is absolutely my favorite. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and had a round of drinks at the bars before the meal. The bartender made perfect Old Fashioneds and Margaritas for us - superb! When we were seated at our booth, Sardi took wonderful care of us. The jumbo lump crab cakes are the best I've had outside of Maryland. I thoroughly enjoyed the lobster tail and filet mignon - so fresh and cooked perfectly to temperature. The Ora king salmon was also excellent, as were our sides of roasted asparagus and sour cream mashed potatoes. Dessert was a molten' chocolate cake a la mode (delicious!) and key lime pie (amazing). I'm a little disappointed. We came for the adult happy meal but the box was from temu and the meat was dry. We make our annual trek here, usually for Hubs' birthday. When you order a medium rare cut of meat here, it will be exactly that: edges crisp and center a crimson-hued pink. Appetizers are delicious too, and it is recommended to try the variety if you are with a large party. We've ordered the gamut of items, from the Ocean seafood tower to the Tomahawk to the chocolate lava cake... everything We've had has been as expected. (Speaking of which, if you are with 2-3 adults, try ordering the tomahawk steak if you've never had it before. It's a sight to behold; the meat is pre-cut, and the presentation is impressive. ) Every item we ordered has come out consistent and expected of a high-end restaurant. The reasons I can't give it that 5th star... a) service has been inconsistent every time. Sometimes it's great... fully staffed, seated swiftly, and food arrives quickly. Other times, we're waiting at the entrance, and the front end isn't staffed, so a queue of patrons waiting to be seated starts growing. Further, We've had reservations requesting a booth, but walk-ins ahead of us get the booth. Also, the wait at our table for food might have a huge gap between courses. b) Bathroom: Sometimes TP is not stocked, and the stalls have tissue all around the floors. I love to go all out when I celebrate my birthday or anyone else's birthday. We drove up to valet parking which represents upscale dining. When we stepped inside we were greeted with kindness and wishes for a happy birthday. The ambiance is dress and the place offers nothing less than being elegant and romantic. By the way it took about 25 mins for the apps. When she finally came to check on us I told her the spinach never came. I automatically assumed she would make sure it came with the meals, but it didn't. What was the end? There was a male server helping and I felt like he was a little bit rushy. Before asking, if we wanted anything else, he automatically assumed we were ready for the check. I wanted to order an additional drink, but it took so long for someone to come to the table. I said forget it. I didn't notice that the table behind us into the left was getting frequent check ups. We received the check and the spinach was still on there. When I advised the man of this, no apologies just OK I'll take it off. I didn't notice when he went back to the register. The lady that originally was helping us was standing there. I'm not sure what he said to her, but she shrugged her shoulders. That turned me completely off. I will not be returning back to this location. The service was horrible. The food was mediocre. Last night at dinner with my family for my MIL birthday and we happened upon this. After reading this it was clear I needed to give this awesome deal a shot. Started with the wedge salad which was phenomenal with the crumbled blue cheese, cherry tomatoes, crumbled bacon bits and top shelf blue cheese dressing. Next up was a 6 oz medium rare filet mignon which was juicy, tender and downright phenomenal . I paired it with the garlic mashed potatoes which were creamy, buttery and velvety smooth. The dessert which is included which I never get was the chocolate lava cake with rasberries and vanilla ice cream was a perfect ending. Never thought I'd have to do this. I visited this place once before and had zero complaints however this time they offered a valentines special which we decided to take advantage of. Made the reservations days in advance and when we got there and was seated, we were then told by our waitress that the special was no longer available and that orders had to be made off of the main menu. This seemed a bit deceitful and we brought that to the waitress's attention and she then allegedly advocated for us with the manager and miraculously the special was available again. Additionally at the end of the night we asked for the remaining food to be boxed however when we got home an untouched lobster tail was not included in the bag. Great place great food and great ambiance however deceiving people for lure them there is a no no. Maybe that was not their intention but it just seemed that way. We both liked our meals, although the complimentary bread was a lil dry & wasn't too warm. I've def had better rolls. But I'll still give it 5 stars lol . Plus the customer service was good. The first drink I ordered didn't like much & our waiter kindly took it off our bill. It also came out to be very reasonable. An order of steak & lobster & salmon w/ Mac & cheese, creamed spinach & au gratin potato sides & 4 drinks in total w/ an appetizer & dessert. All came out to be under $300! I was expecting it to be pricier than that. Idk why there are so much negative reviews. Glad I didn't let that deter me & experience it for myself. I'd def come back again. This is the first time we've ever been disappointed with Morton's. We went on a Saturday early evening. It was not crowded when we arrived. The filet mignon was over cooked. Bottom outside slightly blackened. The baked potato was dry and well done. The wedge salad was fair. The best part of the whole meal was the cappuccino and creme brûlée. I had to order more food because the trays weren't even half full, the pictures advertised looks so much bigger and better. And i thought it was ready made/cooked since I had work in the morning. I thought it would be cooked so i can rest this year. but had to cook everything for at least 45 minutes and it took time because my oven doesn't fit everything at once. I had to make more mash potatoes since it wasn't going to fill us up and make more veggies. The dessert was very small too. This was our third time within the last 4 years and I have to say my mother and I were disappointed. To begin with, Morton's no longer offers the 6 Oz filet mignon steak option and my mother and I don't eat such large portion sizes. Morton's should not have discontinued the 6 oz option. Went here for my hubby's birthday last night. We've eaten at the Morton's in NYC and enjoyed our experience then too. We each ordered a drink. Their martini and sangria were delicious! Started off with the wedge salad which was excellent. That dressing is chef's kiss. My hubby ordered the fillet and lobster tail, my son ordered the filet mignon, I ordered the miso sea bass. The steaks were a little overcooked but it was still tender and delicious. The sea bass was slightly undercooked in the middle but the miso sauce was very flavorful. We ordered the mash potatoes, creamed spinach, and matchstick fries. Loved it all. For dessert we ordered the chocolate lava cake which was outstanding. Is it pricey? Yes, but you get what you pay for and everything is pricey these days. We enjoyed the food, ambiance and the service, and will be returning. read more
