    R5 Tonkotsu Ramen

The ramen was very nice but the shreds of ginger would overwhelm the soup when you bit into them. Got the edamame appetizer and the Takoyaki which was very good with large pieces of octopus. Their take home bag was foil lines and sealable which kept the food hot. The inside of the restaurant was very clean and the and the staff was very welcoming and kind. Would return again.

I ordered delivery and the food was packed in an insulated bag so it arrived nice and hot! The spring rolls were crispy and not too greasy, the dumplings were flavorful and the ramen was generously portioned. I ordered the vegetarian Broth which was milky and it wasn't my favorite flavoring. The rice noodles were in a clump but the released soon after i poured the broth over them.

I ordered through Uber Eats. Delivery was fine. However the restaurant forgot to supply chopsticks, spoons, & napkins. I got two orders of Ramen and an order of the chicken karaage. The ramen was good. The chicken was rubbery. I would not order from here again.

Stopped by for a late lunch/early dinner after doing some shopping in the area. We were not the only ones, as a couple tables were taken and people came in while we were eating. There was a lot of street parking, as well as a municipal lot a couple blocks away. Service was good. They lowered the shades when the sun starting shining in, and had no problem reopening one of them as another patron preferred them open. They also came by to check on how things were. Shoyu Ramen is my go to style of ramen, so that's what I opted for. My mom went for the Chicken Shoyu Ramen, which is the same base but with chicken instead of chashu pieces. The broth was flavorful! The noodles were softer than I like, but that's personally preference. I like noodles to have a bite to them. The chashu is cooked well and has good flavor. Just a note, it does have fatty parts in it, which I enjoy, but I know that's not for everyone. The chicken from my mom's bowl was also cooked well, but bland. We added togarashi to it to give it some flavor. The portion size is pretty good for me, as I was stuffed when I finished my bowl. The Hot Green Tea is a jasmine tea, and comes with the tea bag, so you can brew it to your preferences. They have a 10% cash discount, so remember to bring cash! They deducted it when I paid, and gave me back the correct change. Overall a decent spot to hit if you're in the area!

Super friendly staff! Came with a group on Sunday for lunch and there were lots of seats. I liked the takoyaki, pork gyoza tonkotsu ramen and rainbow crepe cake out of everything we tried :) good option around the area! Service was quick and the shop was cute.

They have alot of different exotic foods such as octopus and things of that nature. The chicken teriyaki was flavorful and filled with healthy large high quality pieces of chicken. The service was generous. The ambience seemed as a spin on traditional japanese with a twist of american culture. they have large posters of popular anime also

Visiting the area, stopped in to this restaurant. Asked for Rib Eye Donburi, and then some extra veggies to add. It was quick and easy and very good.

Wasn't too much of a fan of the veggie ramen. The place is cute and clean but I wouldn't go back because they charged for no ice !!! What is that ? No ice means you don't have to use your ice machine so you are saving money instead you charge people ?

We came after church for lunch. The inside was bright and airy. We were seated immediately and given menus. The waitress asked if we wanted anything to drink but we just asked for ice water. When we got it, it was lemony. That was surprising but very welcomed. We got the fried chicken wings and Tonkotsu ramen to share. After a short wait we got the wings. They were hot, crispy, and juicy. The flavor was unique, a little sweet and savory. The ramen was ok. The noodles was a little softer than what we are use to and the meat was coarser and tasted like Chinese cha siu. The broth was flavorful. The best part was the shaved ice. It is a summer item. The ice was soft and there was a good milk tea flavor. The bubbles had a good chew and not hard. There was also some pocky and a mini Oreo.

The highly-anticipated Kiko Ramen, now open after being under construction for many years since Gino's Pizza moved across the street! I had a great experience with their ramen and their side dishes, so I hope many people come to check it out. Ambiance: Bright and clean, with plenty of sunlight in the daytime, perfect for a casual meal or even as a small date spot. I love how they renovated the space completely; it looks brand new. The padded bench seats are comfy. Came here for a late lunch around Saturday 2pm as a group of 4 and were seated immediately. Staff: Friendly and quick with service! Food: The shoyu ramen was filling, with plenty of noodles and delicious slices of chashu pork. The ramen egg was perfect, bursting with umami and very soft. I think the ramen is more worthwhile over the rice bowls, but the bowls are also fun to try. My favorite appetizer hands-down is the purple yam fries--so crispy with a soft interior, and complemented well with condensed milk as a dipping sauce. Looking forward to coming back soon.

    Takoyaki (squid balls)

3.5 stars for this ramen spot, overall service was minimal. They brought us menus and our food and drinks as ordered. No other extra interaction except if you needed the bill, a refill or a container to go. That said, they were friendly when asked. The menu has a few appetizers - think dumplings, takoyaki, tempura, and fried tofu to name a few. For entrees, there were a few ramen choices, rice bowls and salad bowls offered. Definitely beer and sake options. Based on the decor and menu, I couldn't quite figure out if they were trying to be a more premium experience or a straight Izakaya style dining. Seems to be trying on both but not quite delivering that experience. My family decided to try three appetizers and three different entrees to get a sense of their menu. For starters, we had the vegetable tempura - very generous portion of tempura battered veggies. But it lacked flavor. Even the dipping sauce was very light. Nice presentation but it didn't save the dish. The next was the pork gyoza. Typical - lightly Pan fried. Sauce was better here, definitely dumpling sauce/soy sauce based. And we ordered the Takoyaki - fried squid balls. It was also a generous appetizer portion, great for sharing with a group. Flavor wise, it needed some spice or some seasoning to finish. It was topped with the fish flakes but it didn't lend to the overall flavor. Entrees: miso ramen - this came with char siu which was a bit smoky in flavor but again, lacked the salt as expected in a typical ramen broth (we were allowed to choose a broth by the way) and we added tofu as an extra topping; next was the spicy tonkatsu ramen - hubby says the ramen was a hint of spicy but for the heat seeking fans, it would not be spicy enough. And he doesn't normally order that so it was definitely on the mild side. Broth was decent but not memorable. And lastly, I ordered the ribeye beef rice bowl, which to my surprise, they did ask how I wanted my beef prepared! Cool. It was the perfect color and sear as I did ask for medium rare but it was definitely more rare than medium. Didn't bother me enough to send it back but it could've used another minute on the cook time. I saw they had a sauce in the rice bowl, slightly sweet but it was so light. I added more soy sauce for that extra salt. And the salad that came on the side of the bowl, dressing was also too light but that was okay. I could've asked for more dressing but opted not to since I didn't have to have it. We did ask for black garlic on the side to add to the miso ramen so I stole some from that and tossed it into my bowl for extra flavor. Overall room for improvement. A decent spot to hit up at any rate.

Hot Classic Milk Tea, Honeydew Bubble Tea, Purple Yam Fries, Tou Nyu Ramen, Tonkostu Broth

As we entered through the doors, the Naruto posters stood out to me. The atmosphere felt warm and cozy. The servers were really nice, polite, and attentive. We ordered the purple yam fries: crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside which creates a satisfying, savory balanced of flavor. I've never tried that before and it came with a dip. It tasted like condensed milk according to my partner which adds sweetness to the fries. As a main, I ordered the Ton Nyu Ramen, which is also vegan, if you are looking for vegan or vegetarian options. The soup came out a bit warm. I wished it was hot because I love myself a fresh out of the kitchen hot bowl of ramen. The ramen itself tasted comforting and I did enjoy the balanced taste of the ramen that I've ordered. The hot classic milk tea was amazing and definitely satisfied my sweet cravings for that night. Overall, it was a great sit down, pleasurable experience.

How hard it is to find parking over the weekend? thanks

Because we have a long stretch of street parking, it usually takes around 5minutes to park on weekends. There are also parking meters behind the Raindew Family centers.

Really sleek, darkly lit and feeling like it's a place for a date night. But they had a lot of families with small kids in the restaurant as well. There's plenty of seating! I thought it was so nice of them to start us off with a bowl of warm edamame as we perused through the menu. Menu is not super extensive but it was a little difficult to read through. Large list of drinks compared to the food. It was also a little bit hectic hailing down the waitstaff for help, but it was a very busy weekend night. I ordered a couple of rolls. The East House roll was very nice, though I didn't expect from the description that the roll would not be wrapped in nori but in that clear-ish yubu skin situation. I wasn't mad about it, the presentation was beautiful. All of the fish felt very clean and not too strong or fishy tasting. I also had a spicy tuna roll which was good but not really spicy or tuna-y enough for my preferences. The sushi rice layers were nicely thin so that I didn't feel overstuffed with rice afterwards. Someone from my table ordered the hot udon as it was a cold and drizzly day outside. They felt the flavor was bland. It looked fairly bland and disappointing. Miso soup was also bland, though it was generously portioned. The shrimp teriyaki was overcooked. I do think this is a nice elevated environment, and as long as you're getting something from the sushi bar. It's a bit pricey, but you're getting pretty decent quality fish.

Would recommend their spicy tuna roll appetizer (the sushi rolls are the best things here!). I got the braised short rib as my main. It was a tasty first few bites, but became a bit dry once you ran out of sauce (especially since it's a lean cut). The peanut noodles that it came with were alright. Ended with the banana wonton dessert! It only comes with 1 wonton, but the best part is the lychee sorbet and banana cream it comes with. This review is based on my most recent visit. You know when you're craving a particular dish and can almost taste it before it arrives, only for it to be nothing like you expected? That's exactly how I felt about the scallion ginger lobster. It had absolutely no flavor. This is usually a dish that's packed with flavor, but instead it tasted like boiled lobster water poured over lobster shells. Very disappointing. The fried rice was decent, although a little light on seasoning. I could have done without the fried omelet on top, but that's just my personal preference. The Peking duck was good, but I've honestly had better at my local spot for a lot less money. The flavors were stronger, the portions were larger, and the overall value was much better. The tempura roll was just okay. There wasn't enough shrimp, and it felt underwhelming for the price. The biggest disappointment of the night was the short rib. It was not good at all. The peanut flavor completely overpowered the noodles that came with the dish, making it difficult to enjoy. I really wanted to love this place. I don't mind spending money when the food, service, and overall experience justify the price. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. The bill was far too high for the level of service and flavors we received. Overall, It's a nice looking restaurant but I didn't have a great dining experience and probably won't be back especially at those prices.
