I was directed here by Vic @ Eurowurx as a place that could fix a broken muffler mount on my aftermarket exhaust for my Audi S3. The place was easy to find, and they were able to see me right away. Immediately upon raising my car up on the lift, they were able to tell that my original installer had installed my exhaust incorrectly, which placed too much of the rear exhaust's weight onto the mount that had broken. They corrected the break with some clean welding, and double reinforced both rear mounts to prevent future issues. Everyone was super helpful, courteous, and fun to talk to. I took my bronco to Steve at Morse muffler this year as he was highly recommended. I asked for stainless steel tubing and he gave me a very reasonable price to fabricate and install a full exhaust system. He said he would have it done in 3 days, this ended up being 10 days. He called me to pick it up because it was ready. When I got to his shop he mentioned I had an exhaust leak......I would have expected for him to tell me this in the mist of him working on the vehicle...it was my fault for not paying attention to detail but he also failed to use stainless steel like I asked. To top it off, he didn't use any gaskets on my exhaust manifolds and just put them on with red rtv. Since then I've had exhaust leaks that I've had to spend money and time in fixing. Very disappointed & just have a bitter taste from the work that was done. read more

Broke my exhaust pipe trying to remove an original oxygen sensor on a car with 214,000 miles with a breaker bar. Brought my car into their shop. First thing I notice is the smell. Goodness, what was that glorious scent? I wait a few minutes and then realize that there's a grill going outside. I came in around 12:45 so I was curious. The owner was barbecuing chicken and some corn for his staff! Apparently, he does this weekly. Had some left over and offered me some. Absolutely delicious, but I didn't come here for the smoked meats. His worker takes my car onto the lift. I show him the damage I did and told him how I did it. He laughed and said, "I'll fix it right up!" He removes the old oxygen sensor with no effort whatsoever! "Hey man, i noticed that your car has been running rich for a while. Would you like me to run a back pressure test on your cat?" "Sure, go for it." Cat's working fine. Good! Next up he asked me about these rattling heat shields and if I'd like them welded back. "Yeah man, go for it." This took him 30 minutes to do. They even let me splice in the wire for my new o2 sensor while the car was on the lift too! Grand total? $50. I offered him $60 for letting me work on the car on the lift and for the free grilled chicken. This shop is solid, professional, intelligent, and above all honest. Best guys in town! read more

I am all about the indie. Indie rock. Indie films. Indie businesses. Indie business such as Morse Muffler. The exhaust system on El Prez (aka my 1985 Lincoln Continental) had been on borrowed time for almost two years. It roared down the road, drowning out the cruising tunes and creating a lot of backpressure during acceleration, which translates to decreased horsepower and criminal gas mileage. Not a very stately way to roll in an otherwise very stately automobile. Finding parts for El Prez requires research and phone calls. Just ask Mike at Mike's Auto. (Another awesome indie repair shop. He had quite the time just finding an oil plug for the car in an oil change process.) It was Mike who referred me to Morse Muffler. After a month of resistance to what I feared would be an $800 repair bill and a clothes hanger wiring up an exhaust pipe, I finally called Ron. Friendly and unhurried on the phone, he invited me for an estimate. After putting the car on the lift, they let me look at the problems for myself (never mind the "Employees Only" sign.) I had been planning to shop around, but the price he gave was so good, that I decided to leave El Prez with him. Plus, they had other classic cars there, older and more rare even than mine, so my confidence level was high. He also said that the grade of steel they used was twice the gauge of what was the Swiss cheese currently defying gravity on the undercarriage. "The exhaust system we'll put on will outlast the car," he said. Though it only has 48,000 original miles on it, I had no doubt. (As long as you don't take it back to Cleveland," he added. Ron even made sure that I didn't leave house keys with the car keys. But in a mortified blonde moment, I got a call from him as I was walking home; I had left ALL of my keys sitting in the car. He got my coordinates and delivered them to me. A super cute guy worked diligently and carefully, so as not to break anything while extricating corroded and stubbornly rust-fused parts. It took a solid day, as well it should have, but when I returned to inspect the finished project (car on the lift, as I requested), the welding and pipefitting combined as a work of art and automotive science. I drove El Prez into the sunset (literally), actually hearing Jesse Malin & The St. Mark's Social with the windows down. Three weeks later, and the fuel economy is twice what it had been prior to the exhaust system replacement. El Prez also flies down the road, more street racer than cruiser. read more

Great service & great suggestions on the best muffler for my classic car. They charged me a fair price to install two performance mufflers that were purchased online. I saved 60% on parts via Summit/Amazon. If Morse could get close price-wise, I would've gladly purchased from them, but that's (un)reality of internet shopping, local dealers can't compete as savings just too hard to pass up. That is if you know EXACTLY what you need and have time to wait. I didn't hesitate to drive all the way back to them for installation, even though plenty of shops close to me. Paid them a little more than initially quoted since I saved on parts. Update: I had to take it back for a rattle that was caused by installation. They did charge me a little more than what I thought was fair & the rattle is still there albeit less., so dropping them to 4 star. read more

Incredible customer service, honest, no nonsense business establishment. I took my '71 Mercedes Benz 280SL in to have the exhaust looked at. The poor car had the entire exhaust drop and drag on the pavement after I hit a bump, forcing me to do a quickie roadside repair to get it back home (thankfully I had a ratchet strap on hand). Everything on this car costs a fortune to repair, so I was more than a little worried about bringing it to a shop for repair. Ron greeted me upon arrival, put it on the lift, showed me what was wrong (it was as simple as replacing the missing and worn rubber rings) within 10 minutes. They didn't have the correct size rubber rings in stock, so he drove down the street and picked them up for me. The guys had it fixed for me in no time flat, and let me under the lift to see exactly what they had done - something extremely rare this day and age. The price was EXTREMELY reasonable for the repair (literally less than $50), and Ron was a great guy to chat with about Burbank history. Highly recommend this shop to anyone that needs any sort of work done on any of their cars, especially a classic. read more

I needed a muffler replacement for my 1957 Chevy Bel Air. I called up the shop, they told me to bring it in about an hour. I brought it in, chatted with the owner, they got it up on the rack right away. In the shop at the time was a 1960's custom El Camino, and a 1950's Ford custom truck--so I knew I was in the right place. The work was done on time (about an hour) and at the agreed price. Nice and helpful - just replaced what was needed and even saved me money by suggesting to just replace the muffler instead of some of the lengths of pipe as well. After a friend had her cat. converter stolen from her 2005 Jeep, my husband & I became concerned that our own 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee could also be a target. So, we brought our Jeep to Morse Muffler to have 2 anti-theft devices installed on our 2 cat. converters. Since a shield is not available for this model car, Tommy installed 2 of the shop's personally-crafted heavy duty chain anti-theft devices around our cat. converters. The total price for this work was very reasonable, & was completed within hours of us dropping off the car. We now have much more confidence that our car is protected, & that thieves will bypass our car, & look elsewhere. Tommy did a great job. After reading all the positive reviews, I decided to give Morse Muffler a try, especially after reading they do work regularly on classic and muscle cars. I wanted a pair Flowmasters Super 44s installed in my 72 Chevy Nova. Excellent service! I called ahead of time, just to make sure they could do the work. No problem, dropped by first thing in the morning (8AM) and they were done very quickly. Even offered to give me a lift back my office near Warner Bros. Studios! I had already bought the two mufflers from Pep Boys, but I do believe they will order whatever parts you need. I started getting some very loud exhaust noise from my engine. Took it to a Land Rover 'specialist' who gave me the wrong diagnosis and quoted me a $650 job to fix it. Disgusted, I looked for a reference and ended up at Morse Muffle. The guy there was cool as hell. Got my truck in the garage found out it was just a crack in the pipe. It was in a tough spot but he got his torch out, fixed the crack, and in about 20mins my truck was back to its old self. He even showed me around the truck and had a look at the rest of the exhaust system. Got out of there for just $80 instead of the $650 I thought this problem could cost me. I called and spoke to Tom a few days ago about making my '12 Nissan Frontier breathe better, and then called again, and again (and again), for more info. (And probably again.) The guy was exceedingly patient with all of my questions, and actually steered me away from higher-priced options that would have put more money in their pocket. They seem to value repeat customers. Fancy that! I ended up getting a Flowmaster Super 50 with a 2.5" custom tailpipe and tip. From the disassembly of the stock exhaust to the custom fabrication of my tailpipe to the install and all welding - just over 1 hour. Top Notch shop and people!! I spoke to Ron on the phone a couple times and made an appointment to have the Magnaflow Cat-back exhaust on my Supercharged 2009 Challenger RT SE modified. It's the street series system; all stainless steel and has 2 mid-pipe bullet-style mufflers and then 2 additional standard style mufflers under the rear valence. I wanted to modify it so it was comparable to the Magnaflow "Competition Series" system with no rear mufflers for better sound. I met Tom and owner Tim when I went down there and they were great. Tom is a master craftsman and it was a pleasure watching him work and he is very personable and he was very communicative and professional. He cut out my rear mufflers, salvaged my stainless quad exhaust tips and welded in all custom stainless tail pipes and hangers from axle-back. He pointed out the original set-up's tips were not exactly symmetrical and once he was done modifying it, his work was dead-on and perfect. They quoted me $250, and when I was there I wanted stainless steel so it cost me $280. Excellent work and service and the car looks great and sounds much better now. For reference, the (bolt-on) Magnaflow competition series axle-back pipes (comparable to what I had done) would have cost me $650 plus tax and S & H and then my time to install it. I'm very happy with the work, the people and the experience and I will return to Morse Muffler for any future car or motorcycle exhaust needs and happily recommend them with 2 thumbs up! read more
