My wife and I stopped in to see how good this place was. It is the former location of Joe's pasta garage which was a very good place to eat. This place is as well. I had shrimp & scallops & black pasta. Yep, it was black! It was very good. My wife had lobster tail and "love letters" ( ravioli ) which was also excellent. Wait staff was superb and the atmosphere was acceptable. The place is a bit pricey for the portion sizes but, hey, its Skaneateles. I am not knocking the place for its prices but you should be aware that dinner for two will run you $100 in this place. But, the food and service was excellent! read more

A mixed review from two diners. We both had the soup du jour and although it was somewhat thin, we liked it. Wife had Chicken Scallopini Marsala which she deemed OK but I tried it and thought it lacked any characteristic marsala taste. I had the Cioppino and was extremely disappointed. The broth was bland, the calamari were rubber band-like and the mussels (the predominant component) were mushy. The service was good. I know this place has many fans, which is why we tried it, but they sure were off their game that Saturday night. Maybe the first team wasn't onboard. Will probably try again in the future but it didn't live up to expectations when we were there. read more

We were very excited to see Moro's table open. We had never been and were looking forward our first experience. We cancelled at another place to eat there. We ordered two drinks (not good), sushi rolls for appetizers, hanger steak for two, salads, pasta Alfredo. Well the sushi never came. Our entire meal came out in tin and styrofoam containers with plastic utensils and a paper napkin in a plastic bag. The hanger steak was cold, I couldn't get past that. We ordered a $100 meal and could not eat it. Our sushi appetizer came out after we were served our entree. It also came in a plastic bag and a styrofoam container. The manager explained, incorrectly, that they could not serve us proper tableware due to the corona restrictions. NOT TRUE, we own a restaurant and have read all 13 pages of the states rules and regs. We abide by them and still serve our patrons a proper meal on real tableware with actual glasses, steak knives, etc. I was embarrassed for the owner. The service and the presentation was deplorable and an embarrassment as a fellow restauranteur. read more

We went to Moro's on a whim on Sunday for lunch. There were 5 of us and each & every one of us enjoyed our meal. Portion size was perfect & price was comparable to other area restaurants. The waiter was friendly and attentive to what we needled and asked. The restaurant and restrooms were very clean and the food was delicious. My son and I dropped in for an early meal around 6 pm on a Friday night. We had no reservations and were seated. There were four other tables in the restaurant that had patrons. We were brought bread and water and then ignored for the next 30 minutes. Server after server walked by. It was so odd. I made eye contact with the employees but we were ignored. I had a bad experience at Moro's last night. I ordered the cioppino and the mussels were definitely spoiled. The worst taste imaginable. And they made me sick. My husband ordered the lobster special and it was fresh and very good. The clam appetizer was delicious. We were given credit for the mussel portion of the cioppino (a $5 discount on the dinner) when the cioppino should have been taken off the bill completely. We were offered a dessert. Another surprise: we had a Moro's gift card but discovered it was good only at the Moro's Table in Auburn and not at Moro's Kitchen in Skaneateles. Never a bad meal--but I crave the lobster with fresh pasta at Moros Kitchen and the sushi and mussels at the Table in Auburn. Really superb. We all enjoyed it all, and my shrimp-scallops with black pasta was, I am pretty sure, the best pasta I have ever had in CNY. All the pasta is home made, and this was cooked PERFECTLY al dente. Desserts to die for. Great wine list. We are believers. Go. read more

So delicious! We're visiting from out of town and were not disappointed. Our server was so nice and accomodating. We asked for substitutions because of dietary needs and it was very good. One of us asked for vegan options and they made a whole new vegan dish off the menu. So good! Would highly recommend the seafood! read more

If I could rate them zero I would. Moro's was my wedding caterer for the 10 months leading up until our wedding day. About 5 weeks before our wedding they stopped responding to emails, phone calls and direct messages to their coordinator. We had completed every aspect of having them as our caterer and they seemed great that is until they disappeared on us at a month out. If you've had a wedding or a large party you know how difficult it is to find something as important as your caterer with a months notice. This threw our entire day into disarray and made our month leading up to the event incredibly stressful. These people didn't even bother to pick up the phone to cancel on us they just left me to continually attempt to get in touch. They had already told me many times if they weren't in touch immediately it was fine and not to worry as that's just "the way things happen in upstate New York" so I didn't think much of it. We are very laid back people and had put up with the unprofessionalism all year as we trusted that this wasn't urgent and when our wedding time came they would be fully on top of things as we had been promised. Well they weren't and no one has even reached out to apologize. If you're thinking of hiring them for an event I would seriously reconsider as they'll leave you there without any food or service and won't even bother to tell you they're not showing up. I couldn't be more angry or disgusted by this establishment. read more

This place had the best, most flavorful and intuitive food that we ate on our whole vacation around the finger lakes. We started with the arugula beet salad, beets served on Rosemary focaccia and goat cheese spread as well as the calamari, served in a house made tapenade marinara sauce. Moved onto the mains, myself the veal served atop shaved spaghetti squash and potato purée in a lemon butter, my husband the braised (most tender fall apart in your mouth) short rib dish. I'd love to give the place five stars based on its food, but I have to take one away for the service. As a fellow server at a restaurant with a similar price point, I would love to have been "sold" the food rather than just be told, that's "good" or "my favorite." When I'm paying 30/dish, you've got to give me a little more to go on and make your service part of the experience. read more

Service was friendly on a recent weekend night. The restaurant is small and cozy. Food was decent. Fresh bread and olive oil came out in a timely manner. Both were great. We started with the meatball appetizer that was tasty. The polenta that came with the meatballs was smooth and buttery. I enjoyed the lobster tail and ravioli which was very tasty. My dinning partner enjoyed the chicken rigatoni. The dish was spicy and plentiful. We finished off the dinner with a warm apple crisp topped with salted caramel gelato. The dessert definitely was the highlight. Would have liked to have seen more options on the menu. It is small, which I generally like but more options would be welcomed. read more

We went for lunch today. Our first time here. The complimentary bread and seasoned olive oil for dipping was great. My husband had the fried chicken parm sandwich which was excellent - smaller luncheon portion size. It came with their signature Parmesan fries and homemade alioi (sp?) mayo dip. They were so good I wished I had a full order for myself! I had the pork pasta rigatoni and it was delicious but the pork could have used more flavoring. We shared the fried ravioli with housemade gelato and it was awesome. read more

Absolutely, the BEST food in town, or for that matter the CNY area. Reasonably priced and casual attire. Coming from a family of professional chefs and being blessed with an above average appreciation for food, I can't even tell you how delicious this experience was. The presentation was welcoming and clean without pretense and the server was about as sweet and accommodating as she could be. The space is new and recently updated, but I feel they need to soften some of the hard surfaces, nothing that a nice area rug or acoustic ceiling art (panels) wouldn't remedy, otherwise I would say it was just perfect!!! Will not only be going back, but spreading the word like wildfire....and for the record, I am not a family member, investor or employee. Just a pleasantly surprised and pleased patron. read more

This restaurant is fast becoming my favorite restaurant in the area. The decor and service are very pleasing. The meatball and polenta appetizer is delicious. I had the chicken Marsala which was tender and flavorful. My husband had the short ribs which he said he would gladly order again. I particularly like being able to choose between a smaller vs. larger entree portion. The restaurant was nearly full when we were there, yet the service was prompt and courteous. Really nice spot in the village of Skaneateles. We waited for awhile upon arriving before anyone greeted us at the hostess stand, it was busy but it would have been nice for someone to acknowledge our presence and let us know they would be with us shortly. The seating is very cramped, we were seat back to seat back with a neighboring table which was sort of uncomfortable. Would be nice if they reevaluated their layout to give people more room, especially larger parties. The service was good, friendly and fairly fast. I knew of the Chef from previous dining experiences and had the bar very high for our meal. I felt that although the food was excellent, I was a tad disappointed. The arugula and beet salad seemed very salty for some reason, maybe the vinegarette? The short ribs and polenta were awesome. Other guests dinners such as the ravioli and lobster were very good. The ribeye was a great cut of meat, cooked to the correct temperature, but seemed a bit cold on arriving. I think they plated it too early and since it was medium rare ended up cold by the time it hit our table. Overall the entrees were worth the money. Only qualm is some of the portions were really small, even the full. I ordered the larger size of the shortribs and felt it was quite small, especially given the price. For dessert we tried some gelato which was excellent. The coffee was really strong and very flavorful, believe it's a local product. Wine list seemed pretty small given the kind of place it is, but the wine we did order was very good. We will return. read more

Overall the food was disappointing. My chicken marsala was bland and not enough marsala wine was used in the sauce. Other complaints included a tough delmonico steak and a mediocre ravioli and lobster entree. The house salad was excellent though. Service was friendly and attentive. Based upon the reviews and prices I expected a 3-4 star dining experience and the food clearly did not meet with that expectation. Our dinner for four was almost $200 (no alcohol) and the food was not on par with that price point. read more

My husband and I were wandering Skaneateles looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon Moro's. I am so glad that we did! We arrived at 5:00 on a Wednesday and the hostess asked if we had made a reservation. We had not, but they were able to accommodate us since it was early. By the time we had left, there were several parties waiting for tables so I would definitely make a reservation in the future. We were seated in a table in the very back situated near the bar. It was quiet and private; even as the restaurant filled up, I was never bothered by noise as a previous poster mentioned. I ordered sangria and my husband ordered a Peroni. The sangria was not as sweet as I'm used to; it almost tasted tart. Not my favorite, but it didn't ruin my experience. We started with calamari (delicious) and a mozzarella & tomato salad, which was equally as tasty. The waitress does serve bread with olive oil. The olive oil is excellent; salt and pepper are added for a little extra flavor. I was blown away by our entrees. The Chicken Marsala was one of those meals that I will not forget. It was absolutely satisfying- full in flavor and generously portioned. My husband's spaghetti was also good, but I would choose the Chicken Marsala again. We finished our meal with cannoli, gelato and coffee. This place is fantastic and I will certainly return! read more

Moro's is a hidden gem in Skaneateles. This is our second time going there for dinner and both times they've knocked it out of the park. It was a cold, snowy night and the beef short ribs were calling my name. They were outstanding served with creamy polenta a carrots. James the manager helped us pick out a wine that paired beautifully with our meal. We split the mushroom tortellini and it was exquisite. We didn't "need " dessert but when in Rome... we had to get their tiramisu which is a family recipe. You can split it but you will probably want your own it's that good. read more

Our consolation table was right in front of the bar, which was the noisyust place far from the previous place which the hostess promised us was quiet and thus given away. Four of us had an early dinner on Dickens weekend. The restaurant is lovely (a few steps from the village) and the staff was great. The food was amazing!! Between the three of them, they had the calamari appetizer (I am not a calamari fan, but my buds cleaned the plate), veal entree, braised short rib and lamb special. They all enjoyed their meals. My choice was the seafood risotto special. It came loaded with seafood. Healthy portions of cod, shrimp, lobster and clams (thought they were mussels-didn't matter-loved them). And that bread to soak up all the yummy juice! Truly one of the best meals out I've had to date! Kudos to the staff, management and the chefs !! Will visit again! read more

We looked forward to this and were let down. The rigi bolognese was very sparse on sauce and the pasta clearly had been prepared way ahead of time, all the ends were dry/chewy. My wife's pasta dish had great flavor but the pasta was 2" wide and difficult to eat. The red wine list leaves something to be desired, especially at $13.00 per glass! You would think after Moro's table has done so well they would hit the ground running here-not the case! read more

We tried Moro's Kitchen for the first time with high hopes as Moro's Table in Auburn is our fav. We were not disappointed !!! My husband & I sat at the bar with the intention of sharing several items off the menu.Chef Moro's Meatballs were out this world !!! The Calamari was melt-in your mouth fresh & cooked to perfection in a spicy sauce . At the bar Jess was very helpful with choosing our wine & navigating the menu. We will be back next week !!!
