Calamari was very good and I would change NOT putting the calamari on top of the marinara as it made the coating soggy. Gnocchi and braised short ribs were tender and delicious, well cooked and seasoned perfectly. Seared scallops and lemon pasta were excellent. Great sear and wonderful citrus flavored pasta. I came here for an early dinner on a Saturday. The decor inside is lovely, with wooden rafters and string lights accenting the ceiling. To start, we shared the parmesan truffle fries. It was a generous portion size. The fries were hot and crispy and I loved the bold flavor of the accompanying aioli. For my main, I had the mushroom ragu, which included their housemade pasta. The dish was loaded with perfectly tender mushrooms, rigatoni pasta, and parmesan. The sauce was not the most flavorful, but it was hearty and filling. My husband got the chicken parmesan and enjoyed it, with more than enough for leftovers. They provided complimentary focaccia bread and olive oil for the table, which was very tasty. I was really disappointed. I'm going to try to be nice here, but I cook at home for 5 almost every night and don't eat out often, so when I do, I'm looking for the whole experience. We were in town for an event and had one night to eat out. I wish I had picked a different place. The atmosphere was warm and our waitress was very nice but the food was mediocre, at best. The calamari appetizer was bland and chewy. The three of us didn't finish it and that's saying something because my gaggle is usually fighting for the last piece of any good calamari appetizer. The tastiest part was the bed of red sauce with spicy peppers but it lacked cohesion with the calamari. I had the braised beef ribs. Not only was it not fork tender, I've made better pot roast. I had to ask for salt and I can't remember the last time I've needed salt in a restaurant for a dish like this. The potatoes were the consistency of a thick sauce. Two stars because my husband said the lasagna was delicious, I enjoyed my wine, and the Caesar salad was good, but wait until I tell you my pepper story. So the pepper story... our waitress was very nice, but table service was a bit slow and when I asked one of the other staff for fresh ground pepper for the Caesar, she acted as if I asked for moon dust and responded, "I can bring you...pepper". Um ok, thanks, if it's not too much to ask. Our nice waitress came later with a little dish of coarse ground pepper which was appreciated by all at the table. My son thinks I should give it 3 stars because he enjoyed his pasta and meat balls but I think he's being generous because he's 12. I would have preferred dirty dishes to be cleared before new plates arrived. I don't want to shuffles plates around the table to make room. read more

The sushi was okay, a little bland for my liking. They provided ginger and soy sauce on the side. I think a filling with a little more flavor like cream cheese, green onion, cucumber or something else would elevate the rolls. Wonderful food, nice atomoshere. Once a year I come to Skaneateles for a skating competition as a coach, and to enjoy "A Dickens Christmas". I go to certain favorite resturants while in town, and this is one of them. This dish is decadent... rich, creamy, earthy taste... very filling. I recommend making a reservation ahead of time, because there have been years I forgot to, and didn't get to eat here during my visit. While parking can be very difficult in town, there is a parking lot specifically for this resturant in the back - so not to worry. read more

We made reservations here for my birthday dinner and were seated promptly by a very nice hostess! Our waiter was also nice and super knowledgeable, we could tell he was actually passionate about the food here. Fries and sushi were delicious as starters, and we both decided on different pizzas as our entrees. The menu changes every so often but when we went it had options for all types of preferences! Outside the restaurant is cute just like the rest of Skaneateles, and inside was nicely updated and very clean. The bathrooms were spacious too. Hi Moro's team. We visited for inside dining a couple of weeks ago. After many fine experiences at both Moro's restaurants, I am sorry to say this time was a miss. We ordered the specials: steak and lasagne. The lasagne was not much more than some pasta sheets with rather tough crumbled hamburger, without much seasoning. Normally I would expect some layers of cheese, including ricotta. It looked like there might be one layer, but barely visible. The bottom pasta layer was so dry, I had to borrow my husband's steak knife to cut it. I overall, it tasted ok, but was really ordinary. The steak suffered a similar fate... not a great steak to start (gristle, not marbled fat), and a bit overdone. The greens under the steak were very bitter, as if they weren't parboiled before the saute. Sorry... perhaps we'll try again sometime. read more

Honestly the best meal I've had in a long time! The presentation, flavor and quality all 10/10. The staff was very nice and attentive the whole time. We came for a special birthday. For over $200, the food was subpar - the Caesar salad was tasty yet drowning in dressing, the beef tenderloin special tasted burnt (despite being medium cooked). The gravy and vegetables were tasteless. The service was slow despite the restaurant not being full. Our waiter needed reminded to refill drinks, bring to go boxes, dessert menu and to get our check. The menu had a wide selection. Started with oysters and calamari. Both were perfect. The house special Sunday gravy with house remade meatballs, beef braciole, sausage and penne pasta was great. It was served with a solid Caesar salad. Shrimp and vodka sauce, pizza, mushroom Ragu scented with truffles and the seafood cioppino were all enjoyed by the fam. We were recently in Skaneateles for a little get away. Thought we would go to Moro's for a early dinner. We got there shortly after they opened. There was a couple before us that had just arrived as well. They were greeted and seated. The hostess came and asked us how many were in our party. We told her 2 and she said she was going to prepare a table for us. She came back about 5-10 minutes later and said we needed to have reservations and she couldn'tseat us! We found it very rude, especially after already interacting with her. We also could see that there were open tables. If we ever go back to Skaneateles, we won't be eating at Moro's. read more

This place was amazing!!!! It was my first time visiting; I was originally going elsewhere but saw this great little gem and thought how romantic it looked. The inside was very modern, rustic and clean. The staff was very friendly and when I asked if the the restaurant has been there a while was given a quick history lesson on the building from the host. Our waitress (I am horrible with names) was also very helpful when asked about certain items on the menu, and she also was amazing. For the appetizer I ordered the beet bruschetta, I am not a huge fan of beets but this dish made them so amazing. There was an equal balance of earthiness and sweet, there was so much flavor every bite I was saying "yummmm!" For my main course I ordered the veal Francese, that too was delicious. It's made a little different than what I am used to. But this is modern Italian cuisine, I didn't take a picture. By the time I remembered I had devoured it. Then lastly I ordered the Affrgato for desert. It's house made gelato with espresso poured over it at the table. I ordered the pistachio gelato, which was amazing. My wife, two daughters and I made an easy reservation for lunch today. We were celebrating the receipt of a new job offer! We were warmly greeted at the door and brought quickly to our table. The food and service was spectacular. My wife enjoyed the fried cod special, my daughters enjoyed the kids pasta and chicken fingers, and I enjoyed the lunch sampler special with short ribs. The plating was nice, food was hot and fresh. My wife and daughters enjoyed the Scottish hand lotion in the ladies room so much, I just ordered some from Amazon! As the sister restaurant of Moro's Table I had high hopes. My friend and I went in on a Friday night with no reservation around 8. Tables were about a quarter empty at that time. We entered and waited for the hostess to come take our name down for about 5 minutes. She said the wait would be 20 minutes. We were happy to have a drink and wait. The bar area is very small and difficult to get to and get the attention of the bartender. Space is limited in standing and the kitchen is right behind/next to bar so it is hard to be stand around trying to get a drink without being in the way of the servers and the tables closest to the bar. Luckily they gave a table immediately and our wait went from a 20 minute wait to a 5 minute wait. However a quarter through the dinner they end up seating a large table next to us. Now as I have said space is tight. Now it is even tighter with this large table next to us and servers trying to squeeze between us. I wouldn't mind but now half the restaurant is empty! Why they didn't seat us elsewhere I don't know. Decor is great. It is clean and modern but because of the tiled walls that they have... It can get very loud. As for food. They have a complimentary bread with olive oil. Appetizer we ordered a prosciutto mortadella and taleggio plate. It was ok but I probably would not order it again. The Taste of the meats were bland and presentation was poor. The Entrée was the lobster tail and shrimp filled pasta love letters. I thought this was the high light of the meal. Pasta was perfect and the sauce was light and flavorful. Lobster was cooked perfectly. I ordered the small portion and was satisfied. Dessert- was an apple crumble. It was ok but like the appetizer I probably wouldn't order it again. Maybe it was an off night I don't know. This place pales in comparison to its sister restaurant in auburn in terms of service, flavor, presentation and ambiance. Moro's table definitely has a more relaxed atmosphere and an ease about it. read more
