Met up with friends at Avicollis last week and had a wonderful meal. I had the Carbonara which was good, not perfect but good. Everyone else was very happy with their meals. Generous portions, enough to take home and enjoy again. The wait staff was on their game and service was quick without being rushed. We finished the night at the bar. The bartender was fun and a delight but not intrusive. We were so busy catching up I don't remember the decor. But it wasn't bad. read more

Tonight, I got the wing special for buy one get one. The mild sauce + bbq on char grilled wings was tasty, however they could have been crispier. My fault, I should have selected that as an option... The doordash has many, many options and its a little overwhelming because of it. The antipasto salad had me choose a dressing, but it did not come with dressing so I had to use my stuff in the fridge which apparently was not good...so it ruined my salad. I did like the addition of the pickled carrots! However, the olives are NOT pitted so be aware of that. read more

The food looks delicious abd visually appetizing. The pizza I got was 14 inches and I purchased 2 garlic knots with garlic butter. I ordered this through door dash. The packaging decent and organized. I would say this is a great place to order from. The pizza is solid. Ingredients are average. It's worth coming by to eat on a beautiful summer day. read more

Such a great experience! We came down from Montreal to visit the Syracuse area during labor day weekend and enjoy the New York State Fair. After hearing about this place on a popular Facebook group called "Where Syracuse Eats", I was very excited to check this out. We dined here on Saturday August 30th. The place was pretty full but we were able to get seated without a reservation. The restaurant was homey, warm and inviting - the service was amazing and the food was a highlight of the trip. We ordered the tortellini with shrimp in a pesto alfredo sauce, the meat sauce rigatoni and the Avicolli chicken which is a breaded cutlet with a delicious creamy bourbon sauce. The chicken was outstanding, honestly I've never had a sauce like that and savored every bite. I kept thinking about how I'll find something similar back home. Our dishes came with salads and complimentary garlic bread knots. The portions were huge, we have plenty of lefotvers, everything was delicious, cooked well and served prompty. We were also impressed at our server who boxed everything away for us once we were done and encouraged us to take the bread as well and even use the leftover sauce for dipping. No waste! In terms of pricing, this was very fair - the quality of food and portions are more than satisfactory. Only small downside is the narrow parking spots at this restaurant - unfortunately a pick up truck parked next to us and we were able to see the driver open his door and hit our car in the process. There was no damage but the spots are tight and I can imagine this happening frequently as it was very narrow to get in and out of the spot. read more

I'd never been here since I live on the east side of Syracuse, but I was looking for lunch with my youngest and she recommended it. I was not disappointed. The prices were very reasonable, the portions were huge and our server was very friendly and helpful. We even got a free order of garlic knots to start things off. I had the eggplant parm (which was the best I've ever had anywhere) with a side of perfectly cooked broccoli. My daughter had the riggies with an upgrade of shrimp instead of chicken. That was easily lunch and another whole dinner. Topped off with a Peroni and a lemonade, it made for a great hour. Will definitely go here again the next time I am out that way. If you are a Delmonico's fan, do yourself a favor and try Avicolli's. read more

Out for a special occasion and decided on Avicollis. I like they have both a sitdown restaurant area and a pick up counter. First course was soup, bread, and salad. My soup was Tuscan onion which was essentially French onion but it had more garlic and Italian seasonings in the soup and was nice. Love that bread is just garlic knots, wish more places would do that. Main course for me was Chicken marsala, which was good but heavier on the wine than I've ever had, actually only ate half because I think I was starting to get buzzed from it, and saved the rest. Portion was huge. Service was a little slow. Not terrible but definetly could have been faster for drink refills and food. Other than that two people drinks and food and tip $65 seems decent in this day and age. We'd come back. read more

So this review has absolutely nothing to do with the food, as the food was very good and waiter was pleasant and doing a great job for having a full dining room. We went here last night and it was an experience. The blonde lady as the hostess was kinda annoyed and irritable the second we walked in, but that's just a side note of this story. They have a leak in their ceiling which if you sit at the unlucky table you get to personally experience. It is located at the second booth away from the back wall (on the right side). If you sit on the edge of the seat facing outward (so you can see the waiter approaching), you will get dripped on from the ceiling along your back. The best part of this story, is that is where my husband was seated.. and once we figured it out we asked to move to the table behind us who had just left. Our waiter was very kind about it. As we were leaving, we ran into another couple who said "hey! we had to just move from that table too and we couldn't believe that they sat you guys there, after we had just complained about it!"... Sooo the first time it was complained about, they didn't investigate it all (you can see rain drops on the now empty seat when we left) and instead decided to seat us there? After us they did mark the table as reserved but also went to put more clean plates down on the table so it made me wonder if they were just going to end up seating someone there again.. It was just very odd that they disregarded the first complaint about it and sat new people at the same table. Also, is the roof leaking anywhere else? Hopefully not into the food? Extremely diverse Italian menu so you're sure to find something that suits everyone's pallet. Make sure to make a reservation because they're extremely busy. We were greeted and seated right away and the hostess and server were very friendly. We had a party of five and they require a deposit for reservations for five or more. That should give you some idea of the demand for tables. For table apps we ordered Utica greens and calamari. Both spectacular and the portions were very generous. The dinner positions were also huge and everyone has enough left to take home. The meals were all very good. Too often, when you go to an Italian/American restaurant their idea of Italian food is limited to anything with red tomato sauce. Not the case here. I had a great meal at Avicolli's. The dining area was clean and there was low lighting for a more romantic ambiance. The service was quick and attentive. The lasagna I ordered came with either soup or salad and garlic knots. The side salad was a nice portion with olives and tomatos on the caesar. Garlic knots were nice and fluffy, not too garlicky. The lasagna was a huge portion and nice and piping hot. Very cheesy and meaty, and the sauce was delicious. I will definitely be back. read more

Avicolli's is always pleasing to the palate. From perfectly cooked pasta with tantalizing sauces, to fish and meats that are always perfectly cooked. We've enjoyed every meal we've ever had here and it's one of the places we will often try something we've never had before because of our trust for their skills. We always enjoy the sight changes they make to increase their variety of options and make it fun to see what's on the menu this time around. We've also had pizza and calzones and are never disappointed. Excellent pizza. They deserve their rating. There were several pizza places to pick from and we came here and I'm glad we did. Nice size slices. Very tasty pizza. It's thin, sliced, and crisp. Just the way I like it. Little pricey, but not much more than other places that are not as good.so happy we came down this way. I had the pepperoni and sausage slices and mushroom slices. The mushroom slices were great. Their margarita pizza looked good as well. I would highly recommend this pizza shop and when in the area will come back. Service was great as well. I've always loved Avicolli's pizza, ever since they had their first Corner shop at Seneca Mall. They've always had the best tasting Pizza, and then they ended up opening up a restaurant that has great tasting food. Lately unfortunately it seems like their pizzas have gotten very expensive, and very dry. Maybe I just went on a bad day, but I've been on two bad days in a row then. I don't know why, but their pizza slices are a thousand times better than ordering an entire pie. I don't really get it, but every time I've ordered a slice, it's been fantastic, but then if I order the entire pie, it's usually dry and doesn't have very much sauce with tougher crust. Maybe it's something they can look into and fix. Too bad pizzas aren't going to make me stop going to avicolli's, let's just hope things pick up a little bit read more

The staff is one of the friendliest staff I've ever encountered, and I eat out a lot, so I know. They are very accommodating and their food is amazing. They are the only place that has decent Alfredo sauce--it is the best! The atmosphere is so cozy and makes you feel like you're at a high class restaurant. They have great portions for the price. Headed here for a graduation dinner. Started out with pizza, both pictured here and the Buffalo chicken, which was amazing - had a kick but wasn't overpowering. Upgraded my salad to an antipasto, full of veggies, meat and cheese. The Tuscan Onion, was also exceptional, LOTS of onion. Then, shared chicken riggie alla vodka (not pictured) - the spice on this one was perfect, again not over powering but the flavor hit! - and pan seared scallops on a bed of Spinach - that was even tasty! Hours after the Retreat....it was time for dessert. Since I'm not a big dessert fan, Avicolis it is!! For NYC style pizza, this still ranks top 10 Cuse! Marge likes just cheese, but I wanted pepperoni and sausage. 1/2 and 1/2! Sausage and pepperoni covered the slice all the way to the crust. LOADED! Love this place! We stopped in after church, I had heard great things about this place and I wanted to have a nice Sunday meal with my family. For appetizers we ordered the mozzarella sticks, calamari and bruschetta. All of the appetizers were fresh and delicious, however I do wish the tomatoes were diced instead of halved for the bruschetta. Yet still, all 3 were fantastic. For entrees we ordered the chicken francaise, chicken marsala, alfredo pasta with chicken & broccoli and the shrimp scampi. Unfortunately all 4 entrees were almost inedible, I took a few bites of the francaise but couldn't bring myself to continue to eat it, the chicken was not seasoned and the sauce was so heavy and tasted to be filled with cornstarch. My husband had the marsala and it was horrid. The sauce was dark and sweet and had a burnt aftertaste, it did not taste like marsala wine was used. My teenagers tried to eat their meals as well but both said they were not good. The Alfredo was not creamy and the scampi was unseasoned and bitter. The waitress was kind enough to take 2 entrees off the bill, I felt horrible that everything was bad and didn't even ask about the other 2, but I did leave upset having to pay for food we didn't eat. I realize a lot of people don't know what Italian food is supposed to taste like, if you do, you do not want to eat here. read more

How this place is less than 4-star average is beyond me. The service was incredible, the servers were friendly, attentive, and efficient. The ambiance was very nice and clean. The prices were totally reasonable. I haven't mentioned the food quality. Everything was outstanding. I ordered the carbonara and while not 100% authentic, it was extremely flavorful. The others at my table had veal Parmesan, lasagna, and bolognese...the reviews were all exemplary. I waited an additional 45 minutes past my pickup time watching 18 people pick up their food before mine. I ordered 2 pizzas and some boneless wings. They put my pizzas on the top of their oven and they got cold because it sat there for 40 minute. Meanwhile the girls at the counter gave me attitude and rolled their eyes.
