Chicken Riggies

Great friendly staff. Food was good, not excellent. Ordered the Chicken Riggies, it came without any chicken. Sat in busy bar area.

Chocolate chip cannoli to go

Typical ambiance that you'd expect in an Italian restaurant but you can tell this place is family owned and well loved, though a bit more of a casual atmosphere than we expected. They had the original menu from opening in 1986 on display at our table which was fun to discuss during dinner! We got 2 drinks, 2 entrees, and a dessert for around $100. The entrees were pretty big servings, and came with choice of soup or salad. We both got pasta dishes and were pleased with the flavors and quality. All of their signature cocktails look quite sweet, but they also have a full bar and wine/beer menu. The chocolate chip cannoli we got for dessert was huge, tasty, and had plenty of chocolate chips, but it wasn't my favorite that I've had. I should have tried their dessert special, hazelnut Bailey's cheesecake! Servers were friendly and attentive, checking on us and refilling waters as needed. We felt overall that the prices were a bit steep for the experience but overall enjoyed our evening and would recommend a visit.

Once again another great Birthday dinner with my family. Seated promptly and greeted from our amazing waitress Jasmine. Ordered the most tasty Delmonico cooked a perfectly medium rare. We also ordered the Chicken Ambruzzi on top of a nice sized portobello. For wine we had a nice Pinot. So good. A must try for all. You have to check them out.

It is a lot larger than it looks from the outside. It was nicely laid out. We were placed in the rearmost dining room, which was quite spacious and comfortable. The server attending to us was very pleasant and offered some suggestions with respect to cocktails, appetizers, and entrees. Their version of the Cosmopolitan cocktail was interesting but not for me. I also had a Manhattan, and that was well made and balanced. I had a great Caesar salad. The dressing was excellent, the lettuce was crisp, and the cheese was great. My wife had the eggplant parmesan for her entree, and she loved it. I had a classic rack of lamb, and it was prepared very well. The portions were generous, to say the least. I would give it a try. The menu is large enough so that everyone will find something that they will enjoy.

Yes and again. This time for my birthday! Great service n dinner on a very, busy Saturday night. A restaurant that knows how to prepare good meals. We were seated within the time we were told. Service was great, Italian bread with butter n a dipping oil to the table. This is a sign to me of a good place! The entrees include soup or salad. Let me just say I always order a chef salad n theirs its very different from other Italian restaurants in a good wa right down to the Italian dressing. Specialty entree are what i like the spaghetti and meatballs are a good choice too. You love Italian check this place out. It really is a Liverpool gem.

We had a pretty good birthday dinner here for a family member the other night. My Pom martini was great. Started off with garlic pizza bread, greens, and calamari. I got the filet with Alfredo for my entree. Others tried the veal, chicken, and fish. Everything was cooked well and we had no complaints. Finished off with a piece of cake. Our waiter was attentive but could've been slightly friendlier. He wasn't rude but not necessarily welcoming. We still tipped well as he was prompt. Also, the prices here are a bit higher than other places where you can get the same quality. Kind of nuts that it's an 8-10$ upcharge for a side of Alfredo versus red sauce when pasta comes with the meal.

We made reservations for 2 at 4:30 on a Thursday and by 5 the dining room was quite full. Warm and friendly atmosphere welcomed us with bright smiles and quick escort to our table by the window. Beautiful Christmas tree, lovely decorations, and unique window dressings, (ours was A Nightmare Before Christmas setting see the pic). We had the light crispy tender calamari with all 3 dipping sauces, marinara, balsamic, and cocktail, all of which complimented the appetizer. Our waitress was nice and very efficient yet didn't rush us at all. We each had the garden salad fresh greens and romaine with tomato, olives, and cucumber and the house vinaigrette which was well balanced oil and vinegar. Fresh Italian bread, olive oil, and a dish of Parmesan cheese complimented the salad pre dinner. My Isaac's platter was tender grilled eggplant with sauce, homemade large ravioli, sausage, and meatball. I didn't grab a pic of the Cosmo Platter my co-diner had but there was none left on the plate and that says it all. I had leftovers to take home. Desserts sounded great we need to go back just for those. Still our favorite Italian sauce in town!

Great night. Fantastic food. Cozy and very romantic atmosphere.

My fiancé and I spent our 2nd anniversary there Saturday evening. our dinner reservations were for 4:30 and we were sat immediately. The atmosphere was romantic and very relaxing. Our waitress was outstanding even while extremely busy. The food was perfection. Our new favorite. We both loved it and look forward to our next date night at Santangelo. Thank you for making our anniversary extra special.

Peanut butter pie.

My family and I (9 of us) had dinner last night at Santangelo's and we had a fantastic time! The wine, the food and ambiance were excellent. Our waitress was terrific: friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. We had 1 vegan, a couple of vegetarians, a pescatarian and some small children. We were all easily accommodated and the food was delicious! I especially recommend the cheese garlic bread, regular garlic bread, garden salad and eggplant Parmesan. All of it was delicious. Great wine list too. We ended the meal with a slice of peanut butter pie which was absolutely delicious! We can't wait to go back to Santangelo's!

Fried calamari

I have lived in Liverpool for almost 4 years now and have never been to Santangelo's. I got a gift card from my father in law, so that kicked me in the butt to try them out! This may be one of our new favorite Italian restaurants in the area! They were pretty busy for a Wednesday at 5:30, but we were seated promptly and the waitress was great about recommendations and checking in on us regularly. We definitely felt like we were treated like family. We started with fried calamari, which was so crispy and came with three different dipping sauces! We also liked that the bread came with dipping oil instead of butter. My only complaint was that the bread wasn't warm. Since I have never been there, I decided to get a sampler platter for my meal. This came with eggplant parm, ravioli, ziti, meatballs and sausage. Everything was delicious and I had plenty of leftovers for the next day. My husband also enjoyed his steak and shrimp entree. We will definitely be back!

Was between two Italian places to eat and by vote came here. Called ahead for a reservation and pulled into the packed lot about 10minutes before our reservation. Had to drop Cheech and Chong by the head shoppe on the way to load up on stickers so we came ready. Upon entry there is several areas for seating - bar area, large back areas that look private and the regular tables and booths. We came a little early and we're sat immediately. We ordered our drinks and started with fried mozz, pizza bread, and the boys added mushroom caps. Thicc Henry Esq., the consigliere, always goes caps on it. Not I. The mozzarella was ok - a little on the thin side, and the pizza bread was really good. Both the marinaras were good that they came with it. Here's where things start to spiral. Our waiter - young guy, really struggled at refilling drinks. To the point we were looking for him. Also, he would disappear for extended periods where I didn't even see him anywhere. Nice guy - young guy. But service was subpar. I went with my usual chicken Parmesan (for this who read my yelps often. After ordering and the apps coming out quickly - the entrees seemed to take forever. And I don't use that lightly. Then when our meals arrived by chicken was cool. Not hot, not cold - but it was obvious it had sat and hadn't been taken out even remotely on time from the window. It wasn't bad in terms of taste or flavor but the chicken could have been thinner rather than feel like I was eating a large chicken breast from KFC with sauce on it. Again the man disappeared on us to the point another lady refilled our drinks. I made sure when he finally came back to represent we wanted dessert - which we ordered along with coffee. I went with the cheesecake and raspberry sauce - which was good. Then the bill came. Let me say this (again) IF YOU CANT EAT THE CREDIT CARD CHARGE AND YOU WANT TO PASS THAT ALONG TO YOUR CUSTOMER THAN EITHER SELL YOUR BUSINESS TO SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS THE COST OF DOING BUSINESS OR BE A CASH ONLY BUSINESS. Charging a 3.75% surcharge for using a credit card is total NONSENSE. Period. That's bad business. And yea - I own 10 of them. I would know. I also play ball sports so there's that too.

Nonna's 2 giant meatballs are served in a bowl with tomato sauce and a nice size portion of ricotta cheese. I enjoyed the meatballs very much. The texture is a little soft, but it didn't bother me... I thought the flavor was very good. The tomato sauce is simple with mild seasoning. The salad was a good size and everything was very fresh...the balsamic vinaigrette was a little sweet. We went here last night and it was an experience. The blonde lady as the hostess was kinda annoyed and irritable the second we walked in, but that's just a side note of this story. They have a leak in their ceiling which if you sit at the unlucky table you get to personally experience. It is located at the second booth away from the back wall (on the right side). If you sit on the edge of the seat facing outward (so you can see the waiter approaching), you will get dripped on from the ceiling along your back. The best part of this story, is that is where my husband was seated.. and once we figured it out we asked to move to the table behind us who had just left. Our waiter was very kind about it. As we were leaving, we ran into another couple who said "hey! we had to just move from that table too and we couldn't believe that they sat you guys there, after we had just complained about it!"... Sooo the first time it was complained about, they didn't investigate it all (you can see rain drops on the now empty seat when we left) and instead decided to seat us there? After us they did mark the table as reserved but also went to put more clean plates down on the table so it made me wonder if they were just going to end up seating someone there again.. It was just very odd that they disregarded the first complaint about it and sat new people at the same table. Also, is the roof leaking anywhere else? Hopefully not into the food? Idk, just didn't sit well with me. Will probably not go back.

After hearing about this place on a popular Facebook group called "Where Syracuse Eats", I was very excited to check this out. We dined here on Saturday August 30th. The place was pretty full but we were able to get seated without a reservation. The restaurant was homey, warm and inviting - the service was amazing and the food was a highlight of the trip. We ordered the tortellini with shrimp in a pesto alfredo sauce, the meat sauce rigatoni and the Avicolli chicken which is a breaded cutlet with a delicious creamy bourbon sauce. The chicken was outstanding, honestly I've never had a sauce like that and savored every bite. I kept thinking about how I'll find something similar back home. Our dishes came with salads and complimentary garlic bread knots. The portions were huge, we have plenty of lefotvers, everything was delicious, cooked well and served prompty. We were also impressed at our server who boxed everything away for us once we were done and encouraged us to take the bread as well and even use the leftover sauce for dipping. No waste! In terms of pricing, this was very fair - the quality of food and portions are more than satisfactory. Only small downside is the narrow parking spots at this restaurant - unfortunately a pick up truck parked next to us and we were able to see the driver open his door and hit our car in the process. There was no damage but the spots are tight and I can imagine this happening frequently as it was very narrow to get in and out of the spot.

A little advice, try to make reservations before 7 PM because the restaurant gets very crowded later in the evening. I do recommend going to an earlier dinner there, as it gets very busy after 6:30. The service was lovely, very timely and I never felt rushed. Our server was very informative about the menu and answered every question I had. After ordering drinks our server let us place our appetizer order and informed us that after we were done with the app, they would start dinner for us. We got the bang bang calamari as an appetizer. Cooked beautifully. The calamari was not rubbery and the breading was crispy. Well seasoned and not overly spicy. Soups and salads were brought promptly after the appetizer. We never had a crowded table, very lovely service. I got the side Cesar salad and my partner got the Italian wedding soup. The salad wasn't a plain Cesar salad, it came with red peppers and olives. The soup was hot and tasted lovely. We used the bread that came with a tomato sauce in the soup as well, good combo. For dinner I enjoyed a filet mignon topped with garlic butter, garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus, and added 3 scallops. The filet was cooked perfectly! Very tender and melted in my mouth. Scallops were cooked beautifully as well. Everything was seasoned to perfection. For dessert we enjoyed the chocolate lava cake topped with a raspberry ice cream and chocolate drizzle. The chocolate lava cake wasn't very lava-y however, that didn't ruin my experience. I was weary of the raspberry ice cream, as I usually don't get a fruity ice cream. But it was very pleasant, the raspberry wasn't overwhelming and complemented the chocolate cake. Highly recommend Francesca's always! And I'm excited for the summer when they open outdoor dining again. All in all, I enjoyed my time. But I must add this restaurant is priceyyy. But hey, you get what you pay for.
