The bad: cioppino broth was only warm. The good: great flavor and excellent seafood . Other entrees were short ribs (very good) tenderloin (really good seasoning and prepared perfectly, wonderful vegetables (carrots, cauliflower, snap peas, green beans, broccoli and brussel sprouts. All well cooked and prepared. Fish was wonderful. Really 4.8 stars for the broth temperature. Wonderful meal and a really good old fashion. Good value. Worth a visit. read more

First off, the food was good, but, for the prices charged it should have been exceptional , the service was really lacking considering Morgans automatically applied a 20% gratuity to the bill ( calculated after tax... ) and it took 15 minutes to be served our drinks , another 1/2 hour after the glass was left empty to be asked if we needed another, all the while a cadre of wait staff were mere feet from our table. The other vexatious things that really made me over the top displeased were; - took forever to first get a reservation as I had to wait till they were open and answering the phone -after 5:pm and finding the phone $ was an afternoon of searching the internet. - looked online to all these glowing reviews and a menu for Valentines day then to be presented with a completely different menu upon visiting - I understand a minimum charge per customer, but that should be presented when making the reservation so that my entertainment budget for the month isn't blown by one meal , $120 per meal is almost ludicrous for a paper napkin, drafty by the front door in February seating, on a floor so slippery that the chair felt like it was on wheels. I am really disappointed that the Valentines Day meal that my wife & I were so looking forward to was tainted by mediocre service and seriously over the top pricing. Thank god that the food made up for the shortcomings. read more

Why isn't everyone talking about Morgan's Bistro?? This place is amazing and by far the best place to eat when at Harrison Hot Springs. This is the only place we eat at when we're visiting now. First time going to Morgan's, it was a Saturday night, they were busy with several tables extending into an overflow. They were pretty good at getting everything out as quickly as they could, but the shear volume of people made it tough. Drinks were good, food was good, service was good. Due to the number of people once I got my food I was waiting to be checked on again, and no other drink... but I'm sure a regular night that wouldn't be an issue. I would eat here again. read more

One of the best eating experiences I've had in a long time. We didn't have any plan for dinner and just stumbled upon this place It was a beautiful day out on the patio, we were there early and service was great Our waiter was pleasant and the vibe was relaxing They have Old Yale Brewery on tap definitely one of my faves but it is pricey there I found out at the end of the meal I had the Tuscan Chicken and my wife had the Lamb special Both dishes were fabulous!! Especially the variety & serving size of vegetables and they were the best cooked veggies I've ever had at a Restuarant hands down. I'm already looking forward to the next time we are there. This place is really easy to find, right next to the at gallery on the main road from the Harrison hot springs hotel. There is some free parking across the street, but not a lot as most of the traffic would come from the hotels on foot. The exterior of the location doesn't scream for an invite, but the interior is very classy and upscale and makes you feel like you are in a fine dining restaurant. This is also evident from the prices which are above average. At a fine dining place I always expect really good service. This place we tried to visit on several occasions and it was always closed. But finally we stopped by and decided to wait the unexpected extra half hour for them to open. Overall service was average. Nothing special and the drinks took thirty minutes and the food took more than an hour. So for me this was too long. The food itself was plated well and tasted good. Although a few in my party complained about it being over salted. I was also sad they were out of duck, especially since they didn't have an extensive menu and we were one of the first people in. The menu was brief and there ate daily specials which always make a place more fun to visit more than once. And they also had a dessert menu as well. I don't think I'd visit this place over the other places available here though. Although I enjoyed the vibe and for me the food was seasoned and prepared well. read more

Had a wonderful meal from start to finish at Morgan's. The restaurant is quaint and romantic with lots of nice intimate lighting, candles and fresh flowers. They have a nice wine selection with many BC wines to choose from. The short rib was incredible and the daily special of rack of lamb was crusted beautifully and cooked to perfection. I love how this place serves organic local ingredients for their delicious dishes. The staff is super friendly but make sure you bring a bit of patience with you as Morgan's doesn't have the fastest service. You can't really go wrong with any of the meals you choose when you're being served the freshest seasonal ingredients around. The duo of Fraser valley duck is cooked to perfect juiciness and the balsamic reduction sauce is worthy of licking off the plate. Although the portions for the sides of veggies and potatoes aren't very large, they're seasoned well and the meal is more than satisfying. If you're looking for a hefty heavier meal than the lamb shank or the beef short ribs bone-in is the way to go depending on if you're in the mood for lamb or beef. Both of them are fall off the bone tender and come with a creamy potato puree. Morgan's Bistro was my go to place while visiting Harrison Hot Springs and it should be yours too! read more

Went here with my dad a couple months ago. The food was great but the duck pâté was absolutely unreal. I would go back here just to get the pâté. Our server was very easy going and welcoming, she also had her daughter working at the same time which gave the restaurant a cozy, small-town and welcoming atmosphere. 5 stars all the way; from start to finish, everything was perfect. The meatballs were a nice mix of beef and pork with hints of flavor including garlic, and the tomato based sauce was amazing. The cioppino was excellent as well and included a combination of prawns, mussels, and fish. The linguine vongole was piled high with an incredible amount of clams! Have to say, really wonderful. If the dinner plates had been warm, the candle lit and salt on the table there may have been 5 stars. Food exceeded expectations, service was efficient and friendly. Ambiance lovely, no loud music, conversation level perfect and lighting low and moody, but could still read the menu. I had the rack of lamb, accented with fresh seasoned vegetables and small roasted potatoes, all cooked to perfection. The lamb was a perfect medium rare with a red wine Demi-glaze sauce.. highly recommended.. I was dining with another person and we shared a Caesar Salad and Duck pate. The server split the salad into two small plates. Both the salad and the Pate were amazing, with a perfect portion size not to ruin your meal. The service was excellent, our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. I followed up my meal with a perfect Creme brûlée with fresh plump Raspberries and a perfectly brewed cup of coffee. Excellent meal at this small bistro overlooking the beautiful Lake Harrison. Did not have reservations but got a nice patio seat. If you want one of the seats facing the lake better make a reservation. Had the delicious mussels and clams app. Came in a nice sauce with lots of onions. Topped with sweet potato fries and a hearty bread. Main was the short rib. Delicious and fall off then one meat. Served on mashed potato, a carrot and a beet. The waiter made an excellent recommendation for wine but gave us 3 tastings to try before buying the bottle. Desert was a delicious light lemon cheesecake. Never had one quite so light before. Topped with raspberries. Yum. Will definitely have to return to this one before leaving town. read more

Very surprised that this restaurant does not have a higher rating. Too often I feel like I skip out on restaurants with an unfavorable rating and I am so glad I did not miss out on this place! We had a reservation set for dinner but decided to come here for brunch as well since we got into town early. I had the Avocado Toast which was unbelievable. The portion was huge too which is something you do not expect when ordering that type of dish. The bread was grilled sourdough and complimented the avocado mixture perfectly. There was only one waitress working but she was very efficient and pleasant. Dinner was exceptional. The ambiance was very laid back with a sense of classiness w/o being pretentious. It was completely full which made me glad we made reservations ahead of time. The staff was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. For food, we had the Escargot for an appetizer, which was absolutely divine. I had the Bone in Short Rib and my Wife had the Lamb Shank. Both were beautifully composed dishes and tasted so good. The portions were surprisingly big as well which was a bonus. Needless to say this will be our go to spot for every meal going forward whenever we visit Harrison Hot Springs again. The BC wine selection is also very good, found a cab franc from Pentage that had great legs. It was our second night in a row, went for the Cadillac Margarita, rack of lamb, and Char special. My wife and I were planning on a short getaway, wanted to book our dinners - given the COVID challenges. I couldn't find their menu, so I called and was asked to send an email to the person's wife and she would get back. Regardless, I made my reservation. We wanted 8 pm, he asked if we could make it 8:30 - fine, not a problem. We get there ar 8:30 and waited at the entrance while the lady (seemed like the manager) chatted with two people - only table in the restaurant. A little later, we were shown our table and had a quick chat with the manager. I ordered my wine and a Chicken Liver Pate to start, for mains - wife ordered the Halibut and I asked for the short ribs (had been drooling for them LOL). The pate came out quick - was bland, tasteless and the gelee on top could've been anything glutinous. Now 8:45pm Now the manager is perched on a bar-stool chatting with 4 people around the bar counter - seemed to be staff. A family comes to the restaurant at 9 asking for a table, the manager tells them the kitchen is closed. The family reminds her their closing time is advertised as 10. She lets them know due to COVID they closed early. We were the only table in the restaurant, nobody come to our table to let us know our food was coming, did we want something ...nothing. Now I was getting impatient - 9:15 and NO FOOD! Close to 9:20 the food came out. My wife asked for fresh ground pepper and she was told COVID, cant have it! Nonsense, 2 doors down night before - server grinds so no touch/infection risk. Instead, we were given regular salt & pepper and told it was fresh ground (Right!) My short rib was a full blade - not the usual trimmed rib, perched on a lump of mashed potatoes in a swimming pool of liquid with potatoes. As I tried to navigate the beef, the pasta plate threatened to tip over! From my first bite - texture was fine, well cooked but ....NO SEASONING!! What a let down!! The Halibut my wife had had an overpowering wine taste to it and was dry. Finally the manager descended on us to see how our meal was - when I said there was no seasoning, she acted indifferently surprised "oh, nobody has ever complained" Well, I really don't care about anyone else - mine tasted horrid! Well, we decided to have creme brulee (adventurous right?) The creme brulee was fine, the caramelized top was a thick layer of sugar that had to be cracked open. Firstly, my fault - no menu, no presence no response should have sparked my concern. Now, with the careless attitude, turning customers away (did someone say the industry was suffering because business is bad??) And to top it off - if a cook cannot cook 2 entrees in 30 mins and have them properly seasoned - they don't deserve customers. As a person who has been in this industry for 40 years, I find it hard to write a bad review as I know jus how hard and demanding this industry is. But this is pure carelessness and I will not put another dime in their jar. read more

After a soak in the public pool we headed to Morgans restaurant. A recommendation from the locals proved to be the right decision! We ordered the lobster appetizer, tomato bisque soup, and to end the meal a decaf espresso and creme brulee. Everything was exceptional! The tomato bisque soup was so flavorful and hearty. You can definitely tell they used fresh tomatoes in a light cream with a perfect amount of cheese. The lobster appetizer makes me drool just thinking about it. With fresh flavors of butter, lemon, chipotle and salt they melted in my mouth. Served with a side of freshly baked soft bread. Perfect for soaking up the rest of the lobster butter. The perfect end to a perfect meal: espresso and creme brulee. Topped with 3 fresh raspberries the creme brulee was served slightly warm. Finally a place that serves warm creme brulee. Highly recommend this as a stop for your Harrison Hot Springs dinner. Music and ambience was also great dim lights, fresh flowers, candlelight and a variety of jazz songs set the mood. read more

A beautiful location on the main strip in Harrison Hot Springs across from the lake. We started with a Caesar salad that came with a single toasted crouton with melted Brie on top and aged balsamic vinegar and crisp bacon pieces, it was fantastic. I had the Angus tenderloin with cauliflower polenta and seasonal veggies without the veal sauce, I highly recommend it! Other dishes we tried was the spaghetti and meatballs, the pasta and sauce was very tasty but the meatballs were a little tough, comes with a large thick slice of focaccia that's toasted over the grill which gives a wonderful smokey flavor but you may wish to tell them to take it easy with the olive oil. The braised beef short ribs was also very good as was the halibut. I'd recommend this gem in the middle of a tourist town! The decor is modern and great for a romantic dinner or a casual family get together inside or out! read more

We went to Harrison Hot Springs for our friends birthday. This place had huge reviews so we made reservations for October 14 for 7 people. When we arrived, on time, we were not greeted right away. A female server or someone that works there was sitting at the bar chatting with someone eating. She didn't approach us right away but she looked at us. After she showed us our table, she told us our waiter would be right with us but went back to sitting at the bar. We waited for a bit and then a male server came out. The female sitting at the bar told him his table was here. He proceed to look at us and roll his eyes. At that point, we told them something came up. The female server said fine and that was it! And by the way, there was maybe 5 people in the restaurant so they weren't swamped. I look forward to never going there again and telling all my friends! read more

A nice find in this little tourist town. Small and quaint and so my style as it's farm-to-table at its best. Start with the #cioppino (yummy) ask for extra garlic bread to soak up that goodness. My son had the homemade meat ball w fettuccini (very good). The roasted chicken and the braised short rib - to die for. We brought our own vino at $25 corkage.
