Patrons should not have to keep their coats on indoors to endure a restaurant experience. This alone signals a lack of basic consideration for customer comfort. So basic & not in a good way. I love me a traditional breakfast buffet but this place was a complete disappointment. For $33CA, seems like such a bad deal. All the premade food tastes & have the quality of a complimentary breakfast at a hotel. There are limited options & an omelette bar. Breakfast items quality is not the freshest & options of baked goods looked very unappetizing. We asked to be seated outside, & the view early that morning was gorgeous & peaceful. Our waitress was really sweet and patient. I'd say being outside in the sun & enjoying the view saves it. I didn't finish any of my plates & felt sick after. Omg. This is worst then a free breakfast offered at the holiday inn. What the world did I just spend $33/adult and $12/kid to eat??? Kids didn't see anything appetizing so they had a bowl of cereal. The egg is cooked terrible how the .. do you screw up eggs for the love of ... dried up bacon and Cambell can soup. I have no idea wha to eat here other than a piece of fruit. The coffee is gross. Not worth the price for what's being offered. This breakfast buffet has a lot of different offerings but it is pretty basic for a buffet in a resort. The service was friendly, prompt and attentive. The restaurant itself is clean and offers bright, beautiful views of the lake. Breakfast items being served were scrambled eggs (instant), hashbrowns, potatoes and onion hash, smoked salmon (too salty and soggy) and cream cheese, bacon, sausage, Belgian waffles (soggy), a yogurt/granola bar, toast and juices. Coffee is served at your table but there is a machine to make specialty coffees if you choose. The omelette bar was not in operation due to staffing shortages but it sounds like this is a regular occurrence and the Lakeside Cafe should consider adjusting its prices to reflect this. This buffet advertises an omelette station which is probably a draw for many of the patrons staying at the resort. I was not blown away by the food for the price of $30+ dollars for a buffet that is similar to any continental breakfast at a Howard Johnson or Holiday Inn. read more

One of the few breakfast buffets in Harrison Hot Springs. Their staff is very kind and helpful. There is a nice, spacious dining area. They do have a nice variety of items.. It's also convenient that they are open so early. The problem is the consistency of the food. Sometimes the scrambled eggs are runny and other times they are spot one. Overpriced breakfast Buffett ($33) . The breakfast potatoes were soggy and cold . No omelete station because they are "short staffed". Very few options available. I would say that the overall quality was way bellow compared to the free breakfast you get on Residence Inn hotels. Even my kids could not eat the waffles - they were soggy and "weird" taste per their feedback and they are not pick with pancakes and waffles!!! Pastries were not fresh - more cheap grocery pastry type and very limited variety. I filled my reusable water bottle with the fountain water and when I came back there was a hand written sign on top of the water station saying "please do not fill reusable cups". Btw - the cups they offer for water are reusable also! So not sure I understand the idea. I was not filling with juice or soda - but with tap water!!!! The restaurant follows the hotel over all quality. Old decoration and not welcoming environment. Needs a overdue remodeling for sure. Yea!! the omelette station was back for breakfast dining when we did a 'bed & breakfast', three-night stay at the Harrison Resort this week. We had not heard before our trip/stay that it had been replaced, so it was a rather nice surprise to find it there when we walked in for breakfast the first morning of our stay. And it was so good to see 'Lawrence' still providing table service. It was fun to share "thoughts & stories" with him each morning over breakfast (and is something we have enjoyed for such a good number of stays over the years). For us, all was well -- pleasant surroundings, affording a lovely view of Harrison Lake and surrounding mountains - friendly, fun, and interesting service to our table - good food presentations and preparations (buffet style, and made-to-order via the omelette station). Breakfast at the 'Lakeside' each morning was definitely a favourite, and much-enjoyed part of our recent stay at the Resort. read more

Had a great dinner here! Tried the Harrison Burger which came with salad and was delicious! Food was a little pricey but drinks were fairly affordable. We were originally sitting near the windows which we found cold but our server moved us over when we asked. Service was a little slow but there was a big party going on when we visited so that may have been the reason. Definitely a safe bet for dinner in Harrison Hot Springs! read more

Excellent breakfast buffet!!! The omelette station chef was really amazing, making about 8-9 omelettes at the same time and still perfecting all of them! I really enjoyed the varieties of breakfast items and all the servers were very nice and friendly! You will walk out of this place very satisfied! Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't enforce a rule on the waste of food. I see people walking away with a table full of food they can't finish and it makes me really mad! Why take so much if you can't eat it all?! We are way too privileged in Canada while there are children struggling to stay full each day around the world....I think this restaurant should have a rule on food wasted and charge a price for leaving too much unfinished food... read more

The food here is really good. The ambience is resort buffet chic. The chairs weren't very comfortable, and since the room had already been turned for breakfast in the morning, all 5 parties were seated right next to one another. With that being said, our waitress was friendly, a bit slow for how slow it was, but very kind and attentive. The food was awesome. That's why you're reading this anyway... I decided on the Chefs Specialty, the Butter Chicken. It slayed. The only thing wrong with it was a large piece of cardamom that I bit into... but you gotta have spice so it didn't bother me! My Wife had a grilled salmon burger and yam fries, and it was cooked perfectly. Soft, juicy and flaky salmon, and the fries were great too. The breakfasts are decent, but if they weren't included in the resort package, I would have ventured out to find better food. My options were limited as someone with dietary restrictions. As a vegetarian (who is allergic to eggs), there were no sources of protein available to me at breakfast, so I brought a protein drink with me every day. I typically ate yogurt, roasted potatoes with butter, and picked up sauteed veggies from the egg station. Vegans beware: the only food available to you that isn't cross-contaminated with animal products is fruit and Spanish sauce. It wasn't clear if the oatmeal or bread were vegan. If you order the tea instead of the coffee they bring several different types of tea bags. The Lakeside Cafe is located on the second floor to the Harrison Hot Springs Resort and Spa Hotel. The upside of this cafe is that it is inside the hotel with hot coffee. Miss Margaret's downstairs brews fresh Starbucks coffee. At first glance there was a good selection of pastries, breads, hot plates, fruits and cereals. A closer look, most items were not restocked and the cafeteria is severely dated with 1980's screaming for their napkins back. A closer inspection, our cereal was stale and the milk and juice were left exposed on the side next to the cereal bar. Sorry, not a fan. The best part of The Lakeside Cafe is their omelette station. No wonder there was a 20 person line up at all times. Can't complain about fresh sunny side up eggs. read more

Unfortunately, during our stay, the power went out and affected the surrounding businesses. There was nothing that could have been done.  For dinner, all 4 of us went out at the harrison lakeside cafe. Due to the power being out everywhere else, I was expecting the restaurant to be busy, which it was. I knew that we might have had to wait a little bit longer for food to come out.  My experience at that restaurant was absolutely appalling. Let me explain.... -At 6:30 pm, we (4 of us) arrived at the restaurant. -Our waitress greeted us, brought waters, drinks, and the bread in a professional, friendly, and acceptable amount of time.  -1 table sat next to us 30 minutes after I arrived. -Another table sat on the other side of us 1 hour after I arrived.  -At this time, 1 hour has gone by and our waitress had only come to our table 3 times in the first 10 minutes. -The table that arrived 30 minutes after I did received their food.  -And then the table that arrived 1 hour after I did received their food. -1 hour and 30 minutes have gone by and our waitress STILL has not come to our table.  -We had to seek someone ourselves to get more water!  We asked the person at the front, who just so happened to be the manager.  -No one had explained the wait, offered more water or bread, or even apologize for the wait.  -1 hour 30 mins in, the waitress came to our table and finally addressed this disaster and apologized. -The waitress stated that the chefs were yelling at her when she inquired about our food... completely inappropriate and unprofessional.  -The waitress offered a free round of drinks for the table. We had 2 glasses of wine, 1 old fashion (3/4 full), and 1 mojito (which tasted like they poured lime juice with ice. It was disgusting.) -2 hours into service, we finally get our food.  -I ordered butter chicken which was cold. I am not over exaggerating, the food was not even luke warm. There were 3 pieces of chicken. My food was sitting there for 10 minutes or longer.  -My fiancee ordered fish and chips. Her meal came in very hot. However, the fish was not cooked through. The batter was wet on the inside... Again, I feel as if I am using the same word to describe everything, but the fish was disgusting. -the other couple at the table ordered fish tacos and ribs. I did not have any of their meal, but they said it was not good.  -Not one person at our table was able to finish their meal because it was either undercooked, stone cold, or completely unappetizing.  -The waitress took our plates away and said that she would "take some off the bill". -We asked very politely for the manager to come over in order to talk and figure out what exactly happened. -Our waitress left and came back, and told us that the bill would be covered.  -The manager was standing by the front desk looking at our table, and did not even have the courage or professionalism to talk to us. The manager avoided her job and took no responsibility for anything.  -By the time we finished what ever food we could eat, and left the restaurant it was 2 hours and 30 minutes we could not get back.  That dinning experience was worst I have ever had. The staff was completely unprofessional. The manager didn't do her job and when she realized there was a massive problem, she did NO damage control. That dinner and dining experience was unacceptable.  I emailed them about my experience a few days after my stay and they still havent reached out to me. read more

Came with my wife for her birthday, we stayed at the Harrison Hot Spring Resort, and decided to try at this restaurant that is part of the hotel . First of all, the service is below par ! The waitress DID not come over once to check how we were doing. We ordered the dry rib and spinach salad for appetizers. They were good. The dry ribs especially, I think they used the Five Spice Seasoning and it was delicious. We shared the Salmon with Basmati rice entrée. It was okay at best. The salmon was a bit on the the dry side, and the rice was WAY over cooked ! However, the restaurant did have a cozy kind of feel, and it does have a live band that played some nice nostalgic songs from the seventies and eighties. We enjoyed that. read more

Omelette they make here is also good, but too far from what their Eggs Benedict used to be. We recently went to Harrison and stayed at the Harrison resort and opted for the rate which includes the buffet breakfast. I have some food allergies and diet restrictions so I called the cafe prior to our stay to make sure there would be options for me and the person I spoke to said yes there are lots of options including gluten free muffins and non dairy milk options. When we got there I was really dissapointed at the limited options in the buffet. There didn't seem to be anyone who worked there near the food and when I finally found someone and asked about dairy and gluten free options they told me to ask our server who quite honestly seemed annoyed by my asking for alternative options. The service was terrible and sadly the food was also not great. Not to mention the prices are pretty high-so not worth it! I recommend skipping the Lakeside cafe altogether and opting for somewhere off the resort with way better food and better prices like the Muddy Waters Cafe or we also had some great food at the Old Settlers Pub and really great customer service also. read more
