Let me start with the negatives. I'm a fan of fountain sodas and free refills, but Ann Marie's sold sodas in cans (but points redeemed for being poured in the glass with ice and a "retro" straw). I was heading to Abby for an errand and was hungry so looked for somewhere to eat that wasn't a chain or something I'd get at home. I found this place on Yelp and eventually physically found it - it's kinda tucked away around the corner. I was seated quickly and soon thereafter ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich (at 10:30 a.m.). Food came very quickly, not even factoring it was the in between of lunch and breakfast, so the grill was working great to please all customers. Sandwich was good. Not spectacular but lived up to expectations. Fries seemed to be battered or twice fried or something - very tasty. I was in and out in just over a half hour. I love a Diner and this is as quintessential as it gets. My wife especially loves the whole in the wall meets old-timey diner vibe. You definitely get that vibe as its easy to miss from the street and interior is filled with retro pictures on the wall and bright red leather upholstery. My wife, Her Grandmother, and I came here for Brunch. They have regular diner options like burgers and sandwiches, but I recommend sticking to their breakfast items, and you can't go wrong. The staff were all super friendly and accommodating as Her Grandmother wasn't too hungry and just wanted eggs and one pancake which they happily accommodated for her. I on the other hand overestimated how hungry I was or underestimated their portion sizes; as I had the Big Breakfast, which was indeed BIG! Everything was cooked perfectly. Especially their Potatoes, I had them pan fried with onions which was amazing; while my wife had them deep fried which was ALSO amazing! I wish I had known about Ann Marie's Cafe sooner, or I would have came there more often. This restaurant has been in Abbotsford since the early 2000s, and I have not known about it since it was easy to miss. This is a notable 50s nostalgia diner with delicious food. I ordered the daily special which was the Blueberry Pancakes with Bacon and Eggs. The pancakes were fantastic, bacon was cooked to perfection and the scrambled eggs are piquant on their own. The coffee was good and fresh. The choices of beverages ranges from coffee and milkshakes to alcoholic versions of those choices and seasonal selections of beer. I like the service there too and had no reason to complain about it. The 50s decor is at a bare minimum, but is still eye-catching. The parking space is at bare minimum, since this restaurant is located in an obscured part of town. I look forward to coming back to Ann Marie's read more

Stopped off here for late breakfast on trip between Seattle and Revelstoke. Very friendly staff - frequently came by with coffee refills. My egg BLT sandwich was very tasty. We came here for brunch on a Saturday and there was about a 30 min wait. They take your name outside and will call you when your table is ready. The interior reminded me of an old school diner and the food was delicious and homey! Covid protocols were top notch. All the servers were wearing masks, tables were physically distanced, and I saw multiple cleanings taking place. Even when I paid, the machine was wiped before it was given to me. There were lots of room to move between tables and a door for entrance and exit. A huge kudos to their covid protocols as it was one of the best that I have seen so far. read more

Ann Marie's is a small cafe hidden away, and you might just miss it if you're not looking close enough. That being said we truly almost missed our reservation as we couldn't find it, but third loop around the block is the charm. And then you'll see their moderately sized parking lot. But be sure to tell them your correct party size and be on time. If you're a party of 4 but only 3 show up you'll be charged $10 for the missing person as they have only so many reservations they can book! They are a cute retro cafe, with retro booths, decor, and music. It's truly a blast from the past! They have a large menu, that offers some vegetarian options. And they also have a quiet large breakfast menu as well. They assured us that all booths and seating is cleaned thoroughly, and one booth takes 15 minutes to clean. The service is timely, polite and they have a great attention to detail. We all enjoyed our breakfasts, we chose breakfast skillets and they did not let us down. Disappointed with the food. Frozen cheap french fries beside the Frozen processed hamburger with the only thing fresh bean the tomato and lettuce on the burger. The Frozen crusty hard fish and chips we're a total disappointment with the runny tartar sauce (that appears to have been watered down to the point of almost milk). For the price of the meals it would have been better to go to White Spot and pay to have something that is much better made and much tastier. No I'm not a fan of white spot yet I know I can get a better meal there than at Ann Marie's . A complete disappointment after hearing rave reviews about this place. First young waitress refused to give my mother age 75 plus a paper menu and then insisted there was only a menu on the tablet, as we watched another couple with paper menus in their hand. Had to get a more experienced waitress to actually service with a degree of truth. It's sad when the waitress says she has no idea of the food in the kitchen when the serving window overlooks the kitchen. This place is so small you can see with her the front to the back of what's happening, yet staff wish to be in denial. Was it totally sad experience, and an embarrassment for my mother who raved about this pace previously. She had been there before covid and thought the place must have changed ownership. We asked, it had not changed ownership. Food quality has gone totally downhill. For the prices on the menu they jacked them up and the quality is gone down. read more

One of the best diners I have ventured into! This was such a spontaneous option and a good one at that. I literally drove all the way to Abbotsford just for it! * I got the Ann Marie's big breakfast ($15.49) for this price it was so worth it! Such good portions and it was delicious! * 2 well made crispy bacons, 2 very juicy and delicious sausages, 2 perfectly fried Orange yolked eggs, and I got it with this well seasoned potato bites (the potato hash with onions are so good though, it's super flavourful from the onions! I recommend this if you love onions) and I got 2 French roasts (but you can get 2 pancakes). * The French toast was super fluffy and amazing. I chewed into a cloud! The breakfast overall was delightful and mouthwatering. It's definitely a place to remember! * Super vintage and it's probably my favourite diner with amazing food! Can't wait to go and try more! * Freshly made rice Krispy ($3.75) SOOO GOOD it was so fresh and gooey, it was soft and chewy too! 10/10 - amazing! * 10/10 - I got it as take out so just imagine how good it will taste in the restaurant! I just finished my breakfast and arguably had the best eggs Benedict ever!! I had the Eggs Blackstone with fruit salad instead of hash browns and raisin toast. The fruit salad was a work of art and very fresh and heaping out of the bowl. Even the raisin toast tasted great! The atomosphere was 50's and comfortable. The staff are exceptional. The price beats Denny's, IHOP and Tony's Place (I like Tony's place). The only negative is parking can be difficult. Don't try to bring a big truck into the area and expect to park. You might have to do a little walking. This is my first time in but I have tried in the past to get a table for brunch. This place is well known so be warned. Plan ahead or go during the week. Driving by and all we saw was a full parking lot, which was odd early on a Sunday morning when all the streets were empty... After finding the entrance behind the Letter Lock...we were glad we found this little place... Food was great - traditional diner cuisine, the only thing that could have been better was 60's pricing, that it was not but not terrible,, Atmosphere felt new and was very clean, including the lavatories. Nice quick greeting and one last table available surprisingly for the amount of people. The service was great and friendly.... service was relatively quick taking into consideration we were in the peek of the morning rush...
