We were on a road trip and stopped in Lee for lunch. I'm so glad the sandwich shop near the highway only took cash - we were forced to look for something else. When I looked on yelp I found this a minute or two away - wow! What a difference a mile makes! In the heart of the quaint downtown area, the Morgan House Inn sat waiting for us. We went into the empty place and were immediately told to take any seat we wanted. We sat at the front so we could see the activity of the main street. After a couple of questions about the menu we were thrilled to know everything was made in house. Clam chowder had my husband smiling. The burger and fries we shared were the best I've ever had. I don't know how in the world a burger can be so hot - never had anything like it in my life. The bun was even hot - it wasn't a plate trick, the plate was room temperature. The fries were fresh cut. Everything was perfect. Our server was very nice to me - giving me tips on local shopping when my husband had to do some business. I would move in if I could! Do not miss this place! I stopped here for lunch with three others on our way to a show in Lenox. My mother's friend, who we were traveling with, had been here before and recommended it. It was late afternoon, after lunch hours, so we nearly had the restaurant to ourselves. It has all the ambiance and charm of a traditional New England inn. We ordered off the lunch menu which I was impressed with as sometimes lunch menus can be limited. There were lots of options at reasonable prices. The four of us split the nachos, which was offered as a meal, not appetizer. They were delicious. Crispy chips and loaded with all the fixins' including an amazing chili..YUM! We were all satisfied after this starter but we had each already ordered individual plates. I got a side salad, knowing I would be pretty stuffed after the nachos. There's not much to say about a side salad but it was good. My mother and sister got the Morgan House salad, similar to a waldof, which they said was just right after our appetizer. My mother's friend got a sandwich (turkey I believe) which she was also very satisfied with. We split an order of sweet potato fries that were very good. The waitress was very attentive and charismatic. She started off by telling us to leave room for dessert because the special was a blueberry bread pudding what was phenomenal--more like out of this world! Warm, rich, sweet but also tart..the best bread pudding I've ever tasted! Placed on top of melted white chocolate...delicious!! I hope this is kept on the menu because it will be a staple in my meal when I visit here again. All in all, this is a great place. Chalkboard out front suggested their Bloody Mary. It was perfect. On the Specials menu was a Swordfish BLT sandwich. I don't eat bacon, so I asked them to omit that. In fact, I ended up eating it w/o the lettuce & tomato, too. The swordfish... was fabulous - cooked to perfection. The seasoned mayo was delicious and the ciabatta bread tasted like it was fresh out of the oven. Service was very friendly and efficient. Great experience! read more

If you are in or near Lee, this is the place to eat! My boyfriend and I stayed at the inn (which is charming) for 2 summers now and we come downstairs to dine. (We don't go for just the convenience of in-house dining, but we go for delicious food!) We really enjoy our dining experience there very much. The atmosphere is warm and charming. Servers are very friendly and yet professional. It is a historic building and you can certainly feel the history in their decor of dark wood and lighting (natural and lamps). The booths are cozy and dining areas are very pleasant. The food is excellent. We have tried other restaurants in the area but we keep coming back to Morgan House. During our recent visit, we had a lunch, a dinner, and a dessert (after trying a dinner at another restaurant which was not as good as the Morgan House). We really liked the mushroom and arugula salad, salmon dish was delicious, meat loaf was great, we also enjoyed the desserts. Last year, they had a fantastic duck dish. Generous portions. The owner, Pam, is very friendly and considerate. If you are going there for dinner, we recommend you make a reservation as the place is getting more popular! I don't know what happened to this place. We came for dinner, seated right away. Server was nice but not friendly. Cosmo was good. Good start so far.... Got side fries to share as starter super nice.. Then Nachos my son got - cheese all burned, no sour cream, no salsa or lettuce or cheese. Little cheese was burned and rotten he didn't eat, he is no way fussy. Asked for these things didn't get. Friend got grilled chicken BLT bacon burned crisp, didn't eat. I got mussels as meal bread burned and mussels freezing cold. Asked for manager told him, he said would remake. Brought them back after one minute same ones just put in microwave for one minute and still cold. Also friends sandwich, same sandwich came back just they had broke off some burned bacon. Will post photos of it but remember freezing mussels. Told them no thanks to more food, didn't charge for uneaten food, left hungry after hour wasted waiting. Manager didn't come back ever yo check ... Paid $30 and hour wasted left hungry.... NEVER coming back. read more

The Morgan house is our go to place when in the Lee area. We love the atmosphere and the food. I recommended the chicken sandwich.

We had ham and brie sandwich and classic turkey sandwich and both were delicious. The porch was a quaint place to sit for lunch. I have one small complaint about the pickles-they tasted just salty without vinegar. The service was friendly as well. read more

We took the advice of fellow Yelpers and tried this place on the way back to NY after a weekend of skiing and outlet-ing. We were nto disappointed! The ambiance is very apres-ski and warm. We started with great French Onion Soup which was excellent, just what you want FOS to be. I then had the roasted portabella sandwich which, while not the best I've ever had, was tasty and had a GREAT bun around it (a rarity). My man's burger was reportedly very well cooked as well and the fries were great -- skin-on, crispy & salty. He had a great local beer too but I can't recall the name! The service was slow (hence 4 and not 5 stars) but the staff was friendly. Would go back there for sure. read more

Hold On!!! Morgan House serves Lunch!!! That is correct. I had the most amazing Ruben on marble rye, fries and a decadent raspberry tart. And yes, I also had their Best Bloody Mary in town. Don't bother with the fast food style in many of the other Restaurants on Main St. You can have an amazing lunch in a warm and quaint setting in one of the Oldest establishments in Lee. Are a late lunch here. Very cozy atmosphere. Beef chili was awesome: good use of spices leads to a ton of flavor. The portion was enough for a full meal. Onion soup was equally good. After reading other reviews, I was excited to eat here. My husband had lobster pie and I the pot roast. Lobster pie portion was not generous for 23.00 or so. The pot roast itself was done well but the gravy it was doused in was very odd tasting; incredibly salty with what tasted like liquid smoke and clove in it. Not good! Teriyaki wings were ok but bland. Morgan house sauce was slightly spicy and sweet but again, smoky. Some people like smoky but we don't. Desserts were good. I had lemon panna cotta. it was good but not particularly lemony. The brownie and ice cream was very good. The service was excellent. Loved our waitress Angel. This wonderful restaurant is a gem to discover and remember. The atmosphere is comfortable and open with an antique look and feel from the historic building where it is located. The menu is broad based and compels you to order everything, from the scrumptious BBQ (which they take seriously), to pasta and burgers, to American style dishes like duck and steak. The beer and wine selection is large; there is something for every taste and need. Definitely a restaurant we will return to when we are located in the Western part of Massachusetts. Best lunch my wife and I have had in quite some time. Checked Yelp while in the area and went because of the good reviews. The polenta appetizer was superb. We ordered the large and shared and there was more than enough to do that. We then shared the turkey sandwich. It was loaded with turkey and stuffing, etc. it was moist and was terrific with the cran mayo. The rice pudding was heavenly. I sent a group of seniors there for lunch after attending the Saturday morning rehearsal at Tanglewood. The residents all complained about how rude the hostess and server were and they refuse to ever go back again. When I made the reservation the woman on the phone was upset when I asked for separate checks but never dreamed they would treat the any guest that way. A few years ago, owner Vern Kennedy bought the iconic Morgan House inn and bar/restaurant on Main Street in downtown Lee, Massachusetts, and has since refurbished it. Located in the oldest wood-frame building in town, the yellow Morgan House is a local haunt and evocative of cozy, historic New England. The barroom is separate from the dining room, and our favorite place to eat. You can sit at the bar (there is a TV in the corner, if you want to watch news or sports), or at a table there. The restaurant/bar staff is friendly and helpful and the food is excellent, with a signature Thanksgiving turkey dinner always on the menu, as well as classic pot roast and great burgers and salads. The chef is both creative and focused on offering tasty, satisfying fare - a combination that's both welcome and rare. Stopped in for lunch...the waitress told us what we were going to eat, from lunch to drink to dessert.....she was right...and I sure wasn't going to question her....the chef used to cook for clinton in the white house, the special of the day was the meatloaf sandwich he used to make for him...omg....it was incredible....the bloody's were to die for, and so was the brioche bread pudding with blueberrys.....perfect service, perfect food, greeted with a warm fire....i cant wait to come back some day....on meatloaf day, of course! read more

I went here with a private party while the rest of the restaurant was closed. While service did take a little while (especially for the 15 of us being the only ones in the place), the burger I ordered was fantastic. When it was brought to the table I had to devise a plan on how I would eat it (the burger was huge), and I could only really eat half. The entire group ended up sampling off of the other's plates. We made a random stop at the Morgan House over the weekend and the experience was exceptional. The food was excellent and exceeded our expectations. We had the Roasted beet salad with goat cheese and grilled shrimp and it was fantastic. The owner/hostess Pam could not have been nicer. We were treated like a local regular customer as opposed to first time visitors. We frequently visit the Berkshires and this is now a "go to" destination for us. The Tavern was comfortable and nostalgic. The Inn itself has a rich history that dates back to the 1800's. The notables that have visited the Inn include US Presidents, and at one time the Inn was owned by Nat King Cole's daughter. I highly recommend the Morgan House if you like quaint ambiance and exceptional food / service. read more

We went there for thanksgiving dinner and I chose the traditional thanksgiving turkey dinner. Meal plates were $39 per person and I was given three or four large slices of turkey breast which was overcooked and hard to eat. We were there at 12:30 pm which is early for thanksgiving. It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus with some homemade cranberry sauce. The food was enough but not enough fixings but stuffing was also present made from cornbread it said. It also came with either a butternut squash soup or clam chowder. I had the butternut squash which was fine, but it was a meager portion. It also came with salad and the vineagrette dressing already mixed in. Again, not enough. There was a choice of four deserts and I chose the pumpkin pie. Overall, I have given it three stars for what it lacks and the high price. It was an attempt at high end American cuisine but lacked the fixings and the meat was overdone--no excuse for an early reservation. We booked the reservation about six weeks in advance. The butternut squash soup didn't have any dairy, i.e., milk or butter, which is a plus. Generally dissatisfied with the meat quality which was destroyed by overheating, so I'm rating it down. read more

We stumbled upon this place after we tried to eat at 51 Park after we called them for reservations and they said they had, and would hold, a table for our party of 14. We drove about 20 minutest to 51 Park just to find out they did not have a table for us. 14 of us waiting in the lobby about to be seated , just to learn that they had "given our table away." We tried to talk with the hostess and explain that we were not from the town, perhaps she could give us another suggestion for dinner. She replied " you can look on your smart phones, you have a smart phone, right?" The 14 of us left, very annoyed, and promised each other we would never return. One of us stumbled upon Morgan House. We asked if they had a table for 14, and they happily obliged. We got a cozy, separate room in the back, and everything was excellent! Our server, Angel, was professional, accommodating, and efficient. The drinks were great, the appetizers and entrees were delicious. Service was excellent. When we got up to leave, we were bid farewell by a kind and friendly gentleman (manager? Owner?) asking us about our experience, and thanking us for choosing the restaurant. As we left, we all commented how pleasantly surprised we were with our entire dining experience. 51 Park, we will never return. Morgan House, we all can't wait to come back. Chicken Florentine was kick ass. Service was a bit slow but still great. I did order a cheese cake with strawberries and found the person who prepared it didn't care, 2/4 berries had part of the stem still on but were left on (prob while rushing). This restaurant is a must try. I had the fried calamari my husband had the New England clam chowder both equally delicious. The eggplant fries is also a must try. I never had something so good . Hats off to the chef on this unique appetizer. For the main course my husband devoured his turkey dinner as I did the pot roast. We definitely will be repeat customers. read more
