Fantastic food. You can't get better bean dip anywhere else. The salsas are perfect, the chips are always fresh, hot, and light. The guac is expertly seasoned. I eat my entire plate- beans, rice, lettuce, sour cream. Every single ingredient tastes quality and I don't want to skip any of it. The fajitas are a generous portion, a succulent steak, and very nice presentation. The tortillas are soft, warm, and they give enough! I loved my visit here and will definitely be back. This trip back was honestly worse than the last. It was a nice night and we had brought our chihuahua in her stroller so we sat on the enclosed patio area that had next to know lightning accept for the neon beer signs that were on so trying to read your menu was difficult we had to use the flashlight on your cellphone. 2. After sitting for 20 minutes waiting for our server to come out and take our dinner order my boyfriend decided he better go in and find out what's going on. At that point she comes out takes our order and had the Expo bring the food to our table and it did. However we had to wait for my boyfriends steak and chicken to come out so he could eat his fajitas and that to took additional time by that time his beans and rice are cold. The meat itself was tender but seriously lacked flavor. I ordered the shredded beef #2 combo now I got all of my food at once where my meal fell short was the lack of flavor and when the waitresses asked if I wanted everything in it I expected more than just flavorless meat inside a tortilla. We came here midafternoon with family from nuc craving sit down restaurant with great Mexican food. Morenos hit the spot. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. Lots of booth seating or tables. Our server was knowledgeable and prompt. At our request, she navigated us around the pork and lard forward foods, to enjoy fabulous chile rellenos and cheese enchiladas . The rice and pinto beans without lard were soo good as was the relleno and enchilada. There are many Morenos around town and I love the food. Spicy but not mouth chilling heat. Across from me I listened to the sizzling fajitas and thought I might regret my choice but a couple of bites from that plate and my Mexican food experience was all I could've asked for! We had them cater an event for 100 people. Red beef and green chicken enchiladas, mini-chimichangas, flautas, mini tacos, green chili, tortillas. Also included chips, two salsas, tea, lemonade and horchata. Everything was flavorful, but the green chili was the star. Full disclosure the green chili is a bit spicy and I loved it. I will be going to Moreno's specifically for the green chili. Paper plates, napkins and plastic were also included. We were also very happy that they served the food buffet style. Very professional service. Highly recommended. A few days before we enjoyed the menudo at the restaurant. The tripe was tender, flavorful soup and generous portion. read more

Cash not a to go order I believe the server gal or lack of as it was... added this since she was confident she was not getting a tip. basically theft. The food was great. I will travel far and wide for a great crunchy taco. This place delivered on the food. They are short staffed and still are taking care of us guests very well along with a kitchen staff that put together a really great tasting hot meal. We were super disappointed with the quality of the food. We were hoping for flavorful Mexican food. The salsas were watered down and they had no flavor. We ordered the chimichangas and the meat was very dry and tasted sour. We asked if they could swap them out for something different and we were told "the manager tried them and they tasted fine, so we will not change anything". We were not asking for anything free we were asking for meat that did not taste sour. The chimichangas only had meat inside which was dry and sour. It did not have any salsa or cheese inside. The food was very bland, each item we tried had zero flavor which is really weird. The beans had a very odd taste, they were sour and watery. The sodas were the only thing that had flavor at this restaurant and the coffee. Moreno's had been one of my go to spots for a long time. I don't think I'll be back. Went in by myself. Not busy but had to wait to be seated when it was only 10-15% occupied. Was waited on by 3 people but not waited on. The only waiting was on my end. Food has gone downhill. Got my entree and asked for Tapatio. Waited 5 minutes for that and never came...food now cool. Got up to find some myself and waiter said he'd grab some...arrived another few minutes later...after I watched him stop and talk with a table and chat with coworkers for a bit. One of the tacos was not good at all. Flavor of the chicken was off (tasted like fish...not a good sign). One of the three wait staff dropped the $28 bill on the table and never came back to take payment. Very disappointing and overpriced experience. Before I submit this and get an AI or generic response, a note to the owners. You can do better. You had done better for years and I hope service/quality improves again. I ordered the Sonoran hotdog which is very good as well as a shrimp taco and a Al Pastore taco. Tamales were empty. Just masa. Service was fine, but I was disappointed in the food. It has been a year or so since I have been there, but I remember it being great. My total check was $47.39, I authorized a charge of $50.00 on my Debit Card. When I looked at my Bank statement Morenos charged me $60.00. They are stealing from customers who they think won't notice the difference charge amount. I use to enjoy the restaurant but the food quality and poor service from most of the waitress has turned me off. The Changing of the charge amount is the last straw, I will never eat there again, even though it's near my home. In plain English.... They STOLE FROM ME, THE CUSTOMER!!! Absolute sad, poor, miserable, and disgusting excuse for an establishment. Not sure if the bad service from the 15 year old or the manager was worse, but my god it was all unbelievable. Forgot our order multiple times, had to send the same plate back 3 times because they couldn't get it right, and then tried charging full price for everything. When asking the manager for the owner's contact number, I was told that they were unable to give it out but if it was good service we were contacting the owner about, they would willingly give the information. Main and Power location review; Got here at 12:10 and ordered at my leisure ten min later. It is a big menu. Chili Rellano. Chips and TWO salsas. Great, Icy, cold regular iced tea with lots of lemon. She refilled my tea. How can customers say this is like Taco Bell food? Mnnnnn its so NOT! My choices were all done traditionally, old school favorites. And the plate arrived mucho caliente! Do not touch their plates! ((But back to Taco Bell / Dell Taco type food - just enjoy them. It's like music, theres something for everyone!!!)) Tortilla chips are fresh, hot and crunchy with a hint of salt. Red salsa is slightly smoky but not overly so - it's flavorful but mild. Fine. That green sauce is one of those specialty ones that's mildly spicy and sweet. Its an 11 out of 10! The chips are a 9 - which is still great, approaching can't put them down. Btw: This green sauce side for the chips is really unique.... as few places offer it. Try it. Once you try it you might be hooked. I am approaching 59 years old and a native Zonie. Had a woman who cooked mex food for us growing up so I'm picky like many natives are. The rellano was mild and fat with white cheese. Yellow and white cheese on top of it. I usually like a red sauce but took my waitresses' suggestion to try the green sauce. If you like green sauce more than me you might swoon. Or not. Sauces are so individual, it's often what you grew up on. I prefer a gravy like green sauce, (think Stokes canned green chili pork sauce - OMGEE OT makes great chicken enchiladas). But not to discredit Moreno's green sauce here. It's good, and not too spicy hot. Thankfully so, because when you get a hot green chili inside it can overpower things. Flavorful mild rellano. The puffy dipped breading/coating was tender and nicely done. Beans are flavorful and not diluted. Better than most restaurants' frijoles. Rice is tender and fluffy - not dry! Why not full five stars? I'd add the carrots and peas to the rice. But I'll still take Morenos plain mex rice over 95% of other restaurants! I don't know if they'll charge for the chips. Don't care. Service was spot on here. I'd drive a ways to eat here. It's one of my fav places in the Mesa area thus far. Each restaurant has good versus great dishes. I'll come back and try other dishes for sure. read more

Then to go back home to realize they didn't give us salsa.
